It’s VERY clear from both the interviews and the show itself that he had hazy flashes of his past but his amnesia only was cured and his memory only returned when he met his subordinate. This is one of the problems I’ve had with her character. The way she overacts/makes things awkward anytime the scene is romantic. it’s just not natural and ruins the moments.
The only thing saving this for me is Song Weilongs absolutely breathtaking performance. He’s just phenomenal in this role and plays every single breath and note with his whole being and aura. I find the plot itself very underwhelming and boring but his performance really does save the show. The person that said that the drama is giving makjang vibes is actually pretty accurate IMO.

they are so completely different and HMH character is completely different it’s hard to compare. it really comes down to genre and which genre you prefer. In my case I love both.
