They have to divorce so that the chapter of her life where she was bound by OTHER peoples decisions comes to an end. This is important because she never had a choice in her life. Including who she married. So that chapter must end. The Achou chapter must end.
Now Wei Rao, Lady Wuan, will be born, her decisions will be hers, sincerely, and she and LZ will be equals, and she will CHOOSE him as her equal. He will also understand that what she does now is real, is sincere and that she chooses him out of love and not duty. It’s better for their relationship to start over and understand that they truly choose each other not because others forced them together.
Relax everyone Wei Roa still has more enemies who will reveal themselves she will have to deal with. The haters aren’t all gone. The story has a next chapter and a new enemy.
the evil Wei Rao is the aunt biological daughter. She was illegitimate so aunt swapped her into good Wei Rao role after good Wei Rao was kidnapped and left for dead in the forest. Good Wei Rao was then raised as Achou in poor family while evil Wei Rao took her place. Neither of them knew of course.

The guilt, regret and stupidity she felt. the way she wanted desperately to apologize and take it back. the way she wanted to aggressively show her love to him so he would understand her feelings for him.,

could not agree MORE on the voice actor being completely wrong for this one. His voice in FOF and Veil of Shadows was much better. This voice actor is not compatible with him and is not suited to the role. I was shocked when another commenter felt the opposite.
A lot of people commenting haven’t been in angsty relationships with dysfunctional people before and it shows. Relationships are often very complicated, full of contradiction and misunderstandings, jealousy, ultimatums, insecurities, class differences, personal hang ups. I grew up in NYC and went to college there and know lots of people like the ML and FL 🤷🏻♀️

It’s actually one of the most realistic romances I’ve seen. He has a complex because of his leg and seemingly complicated family or lack thereof. She has a complex because she hasn’t figured out what she’s good at yet, and she comes from a very working class family where she’s the most educated one. They are both headcases and that’s what makes them interesting! They are screwed up and unpredictable and the audience is here to watch them muddle their way through this chapter of life where they GROW. And help and heal each other.

As far as carrying herself, she had 5 days of training before being sent to Lu Mansion. so there *was* some preparation between her kidnapping and marriage and she says so in one of the earlier episodes. But her wits and talent are mostly from her bio parents inherited and also the people she met when she was growing up who she begged to teach her, which she also describes. I think the show would have been better served if they showed a bit of that instead of just telling it. either way she’s a fabulous heroine.
