Why was I cheering for Sunghoon to get death in the end?? lmao I don't understand the outrage, murder of innocent…
a lot of people in these comments have a super twisted sense of justice and morality and it’s kinda bizarre and scary they think killing the children of bad people is is ever ok.
The show itself makes CLEAR that nothing they did for revenge was ok, no matter what was done to them. yet so many people in the comments are hellbent on defending it as somehow justified. like WUT??!!!! No. Never. You’re scary. I hope your parents never do anything bad in life because according to your logic if they do you should be punished for their deeds.
I am pretty dissatisfied with this drama, TBH. It started well, but there were WAY TOO MANY coincidences, some…
Nothing he did gave “mentally challenged” to me lol he was a highly competent detective so not sure where you get that.
Sung Hoon is the character that was underdeveloped as an adult with the writers not properly justifying and showing enough about his character. He was not remotely given enough screen time and depth/made multidimensional until the end. His character was inconsistent and did not at many times make sense nor did his connection to adult YJJ feel like anything. Not at the playground, not as adults. They couldn’t even make clear how much murdering he was ok with and the fact that he was even mildly ok with a single innocent person dying ruined him as a character. But that’s me 🤷🏻♀️
SJ on the other hand was consistent the whole show and allowed me to stay emotionally invested

I don’t know. I couldn’t connect with YJ or Charles at all and SH character seemed really inconsistently written. I connected most with Sung Joon 🤷🏻♀️ so I feel the way you do but I’m reverse.
It was an implant memory. They kind of left it to the audience to guess it.
Yup. Bad screenwriting. There was lots of bad screenwriting that was super unnecessary because they had more than enough to work with without needing to overcomplicate it.

It was a dirty trick is basically cheating the viewer. They shouldn’t do that because it betrays trust. Still irritated they really okiedoked viewers like that.
Ok ……. I had a LOT of problems with how they got there, but episode 16 was the best episode of the drama for me. It brought the focus of the show back to all the victims who were the heart of the story. I stand by my opinion that they didn’t need to go the complicated route they did while stilltelling this story as a crime /mystery thriller and they really shouldn’t have gone this absurd innocent people killed revenge route and done a much smarter #11 style revenge that would have been clean and logical and morally defensible which could have told a better tighter story with less plot holes and lost threads that went nowhere…. The entire real YJJ/Charles storyline in all its aspects of what they did, how they did it, why they did just did not work for me.I also don’t like how they make it confusing exactly how much of the murdering #11 was ok with. But overall they ended it very well and that saved the show from being a flop for me.
I’m still drenched in tears, the soccer scene at the end got me soooo bad (and was a reminder why I wish they had NOT chosen to go the route that they did with 13 ) and my heart breaks for the real life victims of the Brothers Welfare Center.
I think the main cast, specifically our main trio were absolutely phenomenal. Really. The acting was *chefs kiss*
Taec played this role so absolutely perfectly. I hope he is recognized now for how much he has improved and how much range he now has.
Final score - 8/8.5 maybe overall. 9.5 for the first and last episodes.
2. You are missing my point lol no one is saying this is not an obviously fictionalized drama but the fact is it is taken from real events and had more than enough material to make a terrific revenge crime thriller and instead it is badly executed and way too overly complicated convoluted in the revenge execution which has ruined the heart of the story that lured many people in. 🤷🏻♀️
This sounds similar to what the children in this drama went through:Trigger warning. Read at your own risk.https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-52797527
Because the Brothers Home is what this Drama is based on /inspired by.
They never claimed nor hinted that the story was based on real events or true-to-life. ^_^People are capable of…
It was literally inspired by a documentary about a child welfare center in Busan that took children and abused, tortured, enslaved and murdered them and despite it becoming known to police, judges and officials, no one was arrested. Please do your research. This show is a dramatized fictional story but it is absolutely inspired by the actual real life events and real life kids.

I agree wit you but at the same you need to remember that this is not real. Its a drama not based on a real story.…
Please show me where in this show Crazy Dog or the Police Captain are spending episodes mourning their children’s deaths. It has no impact. It’s bad writing. They are more concerned with killing YJY before he exposes them to the public. Their children are barely mentioned after the initial moment they are discovered dead. So no the whole kill the kids of your abusers is worse and more impactful and hurtful is not actually played out in the show. So it doesn’t work as a plot point. It just doesn’t.
And it is in fact inspired by a documentary about the real life kids who were taken and put into a welfare center in Korea and tortured and murdered. It’s a dramatized fictionalized take inspired by a real life event.
The main reason I think the writers chose to k!ll the abusers loved ones was because that's what will give them…
It’s a fail for me sorry. The people whose children were killed are not languishing in agony every episode because their children were killed. They have barely shown they are grieving or devastated about losing their children and are instead just focused on protecting their images and killing YJY and covering their own asses. So there is no actual emotional impact shown that makes the killing of their loved ones/children actually even really have impact. It has nearly NO impact.
I’ve been trying to figure out why I’m so disappointed with the route the show has gone and I think it comes down to this.
They’ve taken a story based on real life child victims of horrible abuse and and used that real life story to build this thriller drama around and turned them into cold hearted almost 1 dimensional revenge killers who are so twisted they don’t even kill their abusers, but the innocent children of the abusers.
And because of this, they completely SQUANDERED away the viewers sympathy for the Hope Center Kids and completely disrespected the real life children who lived through this horror show. And the entire playground accident amnesia brainwashing plot is the stupidest f***ing plot twist I’ve seen in a long time. I’m sorry. It’s just a bad plot line.
The setup for the foundation of the show was so fantastic. It was so horrific and heartbreaking and the way they filmed it and revealed it really made such an impact.
All they had to do was actually make Sung Joon #13 but NOT a psychopath killer, just a hot head, you can still give him blocked memories or trauma block that makes him forget what happened and make #11 the secret revenge killer but he actually goes after the people who abused them, not this dumbass plot of taking innocent lives and make it a cat & mouse between 11 & 13. This entire plot with JYJ/Insung/Charles/ a trio of killers who are so twisted they want to hurt other innocent children of bad people DOES NOT WORK. None of it works.
And the real story now is ruined by making the kids become trash ass adults who the audience can’t sympathize with. Congratulations Writers. You wrote characters that are badly sketched out, turned them into shallow almost illogically driven revenge killers who spend 14 episodes getting revenge on none of their actual abusers so that now it doesn’t even feel like they are worth rooting for and even sympathizing with, you’ve made Sung Hoons character completely inconsistent as his child version was CLEARLY a warm person who had a strong moral compass and never at any point in the child scenes did he exhibit his adult personality, so once again we can’t even really connect between them emotionally ….
I just feel bad for the real people that have to watch their story get turned into this clown show.
Taec is a AMAZING in this role which is what is saving it for me at this point. I don’t care about anyone besides him at this point. I hope Sung Joon and Eun-Ki move to Switzerland or somewhere far away and get married and live life away from this toxic clown show they are surrounded by!
If someone hurts you, you do not go and kill their children. Period. Full Stop.
Just say your a sociopath and go lol
