ep 13 is total letdown.. and they should have made the villain sympathetic here.. that would still be a good narrative..…
Exactly. The show was compelling because you felt invested in the kids at the beginning and all that was squandered by bad writing and character development which makes you feel nothing for the kids as adults….. much less sympathy for them as adults. There are a million ways this could have been an amazing truly emotional compelling revenge mystery and they chose none of them and instead gave us this predictable convoluted shit show lol

THIS! Exactly this! I was so invested in this show until the whole "these were false memories" thing happened.…
thank goodness I’m not the only one who feels this way.

Taec/SJ looks nothing like the child they are saying he was. He looks way more like 12 or 13! I’m so annoyed that I got so emotionally invested in who I thought was him as a child only to be told more than half way through that no, actually he’s the bio son of the horrible woman, a kid we have only seen for 2 seconds here and there and that kid is super MEH. I feel no emotional connection between that kid and adult SJ!

and I feel no sympathy or emotional connection to Charles or In Seong and I’m barely BARELY feeling anything for SH who is totally different than he was as a child / # 11 also.

I feel like they built up this whole hope center story around the kids and we got super invested in the kids and it’s all completely wasted. The only person who they’ve spent enough time on as an adult character that we can empathize with is SJ and now they are ruining his whole backstory with this lame ass plot twist. sigh.

Unless he narrated what real no 12 told him....and charles is the real son? Why did charles look on like this…
Sung Hoons adult personality is *nothing* like 11’s personality either. Adult Sung Hoon is more like 13! It’s all so idiotic and inconsistent and badly scripted. The whole show is just bad writing at this point. It’s all tricks tricks amnesia, accident, lies, raincoats, fake dreams fake memories. It had so much potential …….. I’m sad it’s become what it has.

Hooded grey playground friend pushed him and fed him false memories? My take
I hate hate hate the entire playground/biological son/brain damage memory loss part of the story!!! WTF happened??!!! 😭😭😭

My husband was adopted when he was 8 and they changed his name and he doesn’t remember much of his childhood so I’m totally understanding about confusing memories and even names but this…….. this drama is beyond contrived. It’s contrived and nonsensical at this point. It had so much potential to be the mystery thriller of the year and instead it’s a mess.

4 episodes left for them to clean it up. If it just turns out that InSeong & Charles are the killers and InSeong is really 13/JYJ it will be a huge letdown.

But there is no purpose to making SJ think he’s JYJ. They haven’t shown any purpose for it to serve the killers.

my biggest issue with the show is the entire first arc, during which SJ was clearly shown to have memories of being 13 and what 13 went through. Which also made us become invested in the Hope Center kids. But now you say he’s the real son? The real son the show didn’t even bother giving us enough screen time to care about?

if this okiedoke ropeadope doesn’t ever get explained……. i will drastically lower my rating because it means they literally just manipulated the viewers in a way that makes no logical sense and treats us like idiots.

why did he think he had a sister. why did he think he was number 13. why did he think his real name was JYJ. What about the Shaman! Why did the Shaman get all possessed when he handed her his card! Why did he have repeated dreams about being chased in the forest by dogs, hiding with #111 by the tree, running with the other tracksuit kids….. why does he say he was in an accident when he was 7 and lost his memory yet he’s at least 11 or 12 in the scene where he’s crying at the playground saying he doesn’t know who he is. IT DOESNT ADD UP.

Why is a supposed child SJ with brain damage and his head wrapped up at sitting crying at the playground anyway???? The playground scene? Really? That’s what we are going with? Was the real JYJ on the seesaw and he told SJ his name and Sung Joon thought it was his own real name? This is so dumb I’m sorry! Why did he have the necklace. We saw 11 give 13 the necklace. How tf did it end up on SJ! Did seesaw kid give it to him? Why did he have those dreams. The dreams are the thing that’s really eating away at me. The being terrified of dogs, saying Mad Dogs name in his sleep. Come on!!!! They haven’t *sufficiently* explained ANY of that stuff and it’s completely cheapened the entire first half arc of the show. I mean I can swear I remember a scene where SH even says to his parents “What did you expect when you brought him home” about SJ as a child. Why TF would he say that if SJ was their biological son. What the hell was that?! I’m just supposed to accept that he’s their real son and he has magical brain damage that makes this convoluted plot magically work with a totally different story? I’m sorry it’s not working for me. None of us are invested in or feel attached to the biological child story so it ruins adult SJ if that’s all they wrote for his real childhood. If he’s the real son of this horrible shitty couple and all of this was some revenge on him too this is lame AF.

These writers are about to make me say “f*** those hope center kids” if that’s the case. I have no attachment to them if this is how it all plays out. Why hasn’t SJ done a DNA test on himself !!! Hello, easy way to be sure you are your parents real kid now!

it’s one thing to misdirect the audience. That happens. But what they did with SJ character makes zero sense without further explanation, I’m sorry. It was super obvious from early on that Charles & In Sung were the baddies and because the writers went the route they did, it’s hard to really care or feel connected to them. Unless there is still some plot twist and big reveal this will end up yet another recent thriller/crime/mystery Kdrama that I was SOOOOOO into but it ended up completely falling apart and losing all its magic in the second half.

The show would have been INFINITELY more interesting is SJ was really #13….. if he WAS really JYJ. Him being the biological kid with a waaaaay thinner lamer backstory and a convenient brain injury ruins the whole story for me at this point if that’s all it is.

The HYBE episodes were so good that I want them to do the same thing with other labels and all their artists together. Best episodes ever.

The YG ones were super cute too but would be epic with all the groups together in full.

I just don't understand one thing: How can SeungJun remember his sister, but don't remember his past? He would…
Doesn’t he remember the whistle and crazy dog but just not crazy dogs face and real name? In one of his nightmares he says “crazy dogs coming” and well as when he’s kidnapped and he’s terrified of dogs. I just think he has no idea who crazy dog is/memory of what he looks like. Or what his nightmares are really about.

The Joker case I agree makes me think it’s tied to his sister. It seems pretty clear that Crazy Dog, the Police Chief and the rest of them raped her and made her smile for them. That’s why I think the Joker slices the smile into their faces. As some kind of revenge for what the sister went through in their hands.

Also….. Eun Ki is likely Crazy Dogs daughter. It seems the Eun Ki’s mom did not tell him and Eun Ki has no…
Meaning you think that girl in the flashbacks isn’t his sister? I’m confused. They were both wearing the same necklace.
