lol of course I’m exaggerating and it’s definitely not exactly the same however in terms of screen time GYJ /OG Naksu has less than 5 minutes in all of her scenes combined. If you add in her teen version it’s maybe a total of 15 minutes of screen time versus hundreds and hundreds of minutes beginning at Ep 1 of Mu-Deuk/JSM so it’s not that far off. Human nature is human nature and people become invested in the faces of the characters they spend time with. Viewers have spent time with JSM face. Not JSM AND GYJ face. It’s been all JSM. So a change will be something viewers will not just adapt to easily regardless of the impact her scenes in episode 1 had.
Simple human nature. It’s a huge risk for them to change back to the first actress. For me personally, I’m just truly fascinated they have made this choice with the plot! I will definitely CONTINUE watching happily but I don’t think people constantly telling others that it’s no big deal and get over it etc is really realistic. People get attached and they shouldn’t be made to feel they are wrong for that. The ratings are likely going to suffer and it won’t be because of some hate or vendetta against GYJ. It will be because the writers/directors did not include GYJ scenes throughout Part 1 to keep her face in the viewers mind as also part of the character they’ve grown attached to. 99% of people don’t realize it’s GYJ voiceover so her voice has no impact as a reminder to most viewers unfortunately.

Exactly this. This show LOVES dropping hints and telegraphing but there hasn’t been not a single solitary hint of ANY kind that she can return to her original self.
If the rumor/article hadn’t been leaked literally no one…. NO ONE would be speculating she was going back to her old body. Maybe she would find a new body but her old body…. No.

I agree with you however I’m sure that the truth will be revealed and Do-Hwa’s reputation will be restored and people will be horrified (as Park Jin was when he learned) that Do-Hwa went through this.
I don’t think anyone see’s this plot as some kind of minimization of sex assault. It’s seen as a horrible tragedy.

It’s not protecting just “ someone else”. It’s protecting his *living* son. Do-Hwa already died when Uk was born. So all that was left was her reputation.
Faced with preserving her reputation or protecting his *living* child don’t you think he makes the least bad choice. He had no GOOD choices. He can’t reveal the truth!!!!! You want justice for Do-Hwa as we all do but that justice puts Uk in Danger.
For Uk to be safeguarded Jang Gang cannot have Uk descending publicly from either him OR the king. So an affair with a nobody is the only remaining option to protect his son.

Late King was current Kings brother.
Late King died before Jang Uks birth, before Jang Gang knew he was born with the Kings star so Late Kings brother had already ascended the throne. If Jang Uks origins were revealed now that a new King was already enthroned it would have been immediate threat to New King and they would try to kill him to secure the throne.
