Aren't they just toxic actor fans that only rate dramas of their favs "10" and "1" for all other…
They got butthurt because of ONE single quote that Jun Ji Hyun said in the show, "Why do China favor war?" Or something along that context depending on the translation. That, and some netizens also got mad because in a scene where a meeting took place inside the Blue House (I think?), and the carpet was red and had stars on them. Some c-netz claimed it resembled the flag of China, and that the Koreans are insulting their flag by stepping on it.

Though, silver lining, the more offended the Chinese are, the more people want to watch it, and then laugh at them for blowing things out of proportion.

People these days just look for something to be outraged about. I don't care whether it's Chinese bots, or real idiots with nothing better to do, but China's government been known to be unable to take a joke, or separate fiction from reality when it comes to other countries fictional representation of China. There are plenty of ridiculous examples. It's just 🤦‍♂️worthy, nothing interesting going on here.
Also, are these shows even legal in China? If not, then who the f cares?

"People JoyWorks — an entertainment content platform operated by Global People magazine of People's Daily, the official newspaper of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party — commented on the issue, sharply criticizing the Korean dramas for "smuggling private agendas."

Ah looks like they real originators of these controversies might have revealed themselves. And chronically online people that are easily manipulated whip themselves into a frenzy. Rage and anger on social media can be very useful these days.

First, they watch the shows without paying any money, and then they complain china doesn't look good in those shows, but then they are calling for stricter enforcement for banning korean contents? What kind of sick chinese mind is this? It's not like they are going to pay a cent if china looks good in kdramas? Something's seriously wrong with this culture. smh

To be honest, that's a fair point. I would be embarrassed to voice my dissatisfaction about a drama if I was watching it illegally. They are also "calling for stricter enforcement of the "ban on Hallyu Wave"" when the dramas they are angry about weren't intended for them. Are they planning to ban pirated dramas? I don't see how that would affect the drama negatively, since they are already not paying for it. It's only going to hurt the fans.

Maybe its just people like you that court controversy - and make mountains out of a molehill. You want desperately…
Just ignore this user. They're basically your typical communist-loving pinkie who look for any excuses to pick a fight and go on a bashing rampage. They've already been on related articles, trying to blow things out of proportion. Don't waste your time with them.

Edit: So true about the CCP canceling people. I mean, just look at what they did to Yu Menglong.

I don't make mountains out of a molehill, I never had a problem with what the show did, it's ridiculous that people are mad about it.

I've seen a LOT of Chinese people canceled and worse by the CCP just because they said something. So, China want to cancel another actor is nothing new. It's not conspiracy, it's a fact.
