I’m only on ep 10, but I hope there are more ML’s written like this in future dramas. On top of the usual ML requirements: Handsome and a good career. (I personally don’t care for) He was also kind, witty, self-reliant and mature. Also, to my great surprise he wasn’t the clingy-in-love type and when he got rejected by the FL he actually got upset about it and held a grudge for 5 years. lol. That’s like the first time I’ve ever seen that. Most ML’s, I’ve seen, are written to instantly forgive and continue to pine for and chase after the FL, as if their hearts wasn't just ripped out by her. He met the standards of a perfect drama ML but he also reacted like a normal man would. It was refreshing to see. I know I’m only 10 episodes in and I may have to change my opinion while continuing this drama but I’m just amazed how this ML is written so far.
I didn’t like how the ML was written; He had zero dignity. Like I can see him not giving up after being rejected the first time but after the 3rd and 4th time…please bro, go chase someone else. He was also inconsiderate of the FL’s initial feelings, even after she was begging and crying for him to leave her alone, he kept being annoying. But I’m not too disappointed because of how old this drama is. I can understand the minds of the writers during that time. What’s really disappointing is that this script is still used today. Please, writers, let’s change up the script.
In most “noona romance” it’s always the younger guying chasing without any backbone and then the older lady continues to reject him because of the age gap and family troubles. Then 20 rejections later she finally realizes her heart and they get together. Come on guys, Let’s switch it up. Do something different for future noona romance. As of now, something in the rain, has a different type of noona romance script. That’s why it’s my fave.
Why what happened? Did she betray him? Did she do something wrong to push him away?
It’s been some time since I watched this drama but, if I remember correctly, FL cruelly breaks ML’s heart in the beginning of the drama. I don’t remember if it was intentional or not.
I’m glad ji min pulled Ha neul out of his “prison” of one sided love. It must’ve been straight up torture for him. Imagine mustering the courage to confess your love, Just to get rejected. Then, for friendship sake, you’re forced to suppress your own feelings and pretend it doesn’t hurt. And then, if being around the source of you heartache isn’t torture enough, she adds “salt to your wounds” by making light of the situation. That sucks. 😂 I do wish he was honest though and said something to pu reum, so that she’d show some consideration for his feelings. But luckily ji min was there and pulled him out.
Wow this seems like an interesting drama. Is this a male-centric drama? If so that’s awesome. It would be good to see more male-centric cdrama’s. I’ve only seen like 1. there might be more but I’ve never seen it.
But looking at the reviews it seems like the male characters were written poorly? I hope not.
I too want SSC just to focus on winning and not the relationship part because he has done enough chasing already…
I totally share your sentiments. Sadly, this series will probably follow the usual cdrama script. Which will be disappointing but I’ll probably still finish it for for Zhou yu tong, one of my favorite actresses, and also the story is pretty good.
I really enjoyed this series. Short and sweet. But why did they write the ML like a doormat. Those are the characters I hate the most. I don’t care if the secondaries are DM but not the leads. Please!
Wow good series. In the beginning, I personally felt like jung min wasn’t “worthy” of Na ra, but at the end it switched. It seemed like Na ra wasn’t “worthy” of jung min. He had the best character Developement that I’ve seen in drama-land.

Yeeesss! About time LYA. lol
Even though it took so long, I’m glad the “one-sidedness” is over.

I think I watched all of the dramas you’ve mentioned.
They just better make her “chasing” equivalent to his “chasing” which probably won’t happen either.
I keep hoping for things that will never happen in a Chinese romance drama. lol
Let gooo! SSC return and winning was awesome, expected but awesome.
I just hope he’ll put Tennis before You An and stop chasing her.

Both boys were simps to the very end. My gosh, that was disappointing.
