This list is all over the spectrum with no personal rational about why. Perhaps it would have been easier to make a voting list with the 3 titles you would recommend.
I’ve watched this twice (I have to read subs.) Here’s why it’s on the top of my list: The music throughout sets the mood and tenor of the drama. It almost becomes a character in itself. The focus on art was accurate and believable. I have an MFA and was amazed at the work that went into shaping pieces that were only used as props. Lastly, Park Jae Eon was basically my college roommate and that struck a nerve. My roommate had a similar relationship with a woman that I was in love with. This drama reminded me of a time in my life I had completely blocked.
“Beyond Evil” still chills me and shifted my interest in kdramas I watch. I started looking for other dramas and movies featuring Shin Ha Kyun. He does not dissapoint.
Has anyone ever seen “Braveheart”? “Dancing with Wolves”? Or, any western or war movie produced before CGI for that matter. Even after advances of CGI, do you think the cow in “Jurassic Park” being lowered into a pit of velociraptors was thinking “gee… this is fun?” Animals of all kinds have been subjected to some form of ab use or death by the entertainment industry from all countries since the beginning and companies/producers have turned a blind eye. Why did it happen in this case? I can think of 3 main reasons: money, pressure and stupidity. CGI takes time and money and it’s just easier to trip a horse (that’s on the Studio). The handler was probably pressured by the studio to do this (again on the Studio). Now the handlers were too stupid to think about the “what if’s?” and “is this right?” (that part is solely on them). Boycotting this needs to be vocal and to start with KBS, Viki and those that financed this production and should have the caveat that employees and actors be paid in full. Just not watching this drama may not be enough but boycotting all KBS current and future productions would hopefully send the right message. Especially if Kocowa/Viki were to get on board after hearing your voices.
is that what he meant when he said he was going to break the rules a last time?
The broken rule was to allow the goblin be present while another love one passed. Since this was the GR’s last assignment, he and Sunny passed together. There was no clear answer what, if anything, the 2 remembered. Just that their destiny would be locked.

4 20min episodes
Basically a romantic, funny Hyundai commercial featuring Kim Min-seok.
