Just started this drama. And I feel so angry with the FL’s birth parents. And to think there are truly parents who are like this in reality is even more saddening.
Following C-drama’s logic, they will give them a redemption arch which I am already seething at the thought of it.
Looking forward to how the drama unfolds. So sad Zhao Lusi is going through a rough patch with her career right now.
This was such a great show. Loved it. Kept me entertained and the female lead stuck to her principles no matter what she faced or her status. I love people who are true to themselves no matter what. I wish the world had more principled people.
Oh, fantastic ending also. I love a well tied up story and considering C-dramas are notorious for shoddy endings, this is a breath of fresh air b
I am curious, this is not really about this drama, but why are Chinese dramas so scared of showing their cast without makeup or smoothing? Even in serious accident scenes or abject poverty, their casts, particularly the main cast, appear flawless in the face.
Unfortunately, even serious and well produced dramas still fall into this pit like idol dramas as well.
I mean FL in this show, woke up from a bomb strike from the sky looking so good with only a smidgen of blood on her forehead. Like this is ridiculous and very distracting.
It’s almost like the Chinese audience like to only see perfect faces even if unbelievable.
I hope they learn to actually make dramas focused on delivering all round quality. If someone is dirt poor, they should look it, and so also if they are injured.
I suggest you put it in a spoiler🤣!I'm behind so don't know too much, but can see the inkling of what you wrote.…
I think because in this drama, particularly in her glamour styling scenes, you will notice it too. For me, she’s closer to Song, than Cecilia. Especially head shape wise.
At the end of story nbr 2 why did Wen have a fallout with his son and Yi was told that he no longer was part of…
It was referring to the cultural revolution era in China when intellectuals faced the most difficult purge during the communist era. Wen and XiaoYi are both considered intellectuals (university educated, widely read, and have bourgeoisie experience). So, to prevent his granddaughter for being punished as well, the son took that decision.
If you read a little on that era in China, whole families where punished including the famous Deng Xiaoping's family).
Unfortunately, after the first 2 episodes on the 3rd couple, I never went back to finish this show. With Wild Ambition Bloom, I doubt I will be going back either. Episodes 1-20 were great though.
EPs 13 & 14 aches my heart so much! But then, it’s life. These things definitely happen and considering what era this drama portrays, even more common for that time. 😮💨

Rant over.
