I can’t take him seriously no matter what after seeing him in A Female Student Arrives at the Imperial College.…
I agree. He’s got the talent for it.

What blew me away about this drama is the ending. With so many C-dramas (even those you will consider to have great production quality) having shitty and rushed endings, this drama managed to wrap things up nicely.
I also loved all the cases and the effort to depict the human body in a realistic way. The storyline was very interesting too.

Side note: In every scene I could not get over Lei WuJi (ML’s character in Blood of Youth 🤭). He was so naive and funny in that drama, that seeing him being serious here was hard for me 🤣.

I really loved this show and the end result. The only fault I find is that the story could have been told in fewer episodes and prevented too much unnecessary flashbacks as fillers.

All the same, a well told investigative drama.

The actor who plays ML’s brother inlaw is such a terrible actor. He seems to be a nepo hire because all the other actors here are actually super good.

Argh! I know the ML is supposed to be a coward, but my gosh! He has no spine too. Who lets everyone, including his so called family walk all over him. Although he seems to even speak a bit more back to his own parents than his wife and her family. SMH! He’s clearly a smart man, but that portrayal of a spineless coward is exhausting.

I guess investors need their profit. Still finishing the drama though. I love the proper acting and storytelling.

It’s distracting for me because it shows poor production and this drama is such a proper drama that should not have to do this. If they cut scenes, then reducing the overall episodes of the drama is better than the annoying and unprofessional use of flashbacks.

Even the best of C-drama can’t escape this constant use of flashbacks. I mean using flashbacks of scenes they already played (not flashbacks of something in the past that was never shown). I feel they use it to as fillers to elongate the TV series. Makes no sense and I find it extremely annoying. Why do I need constant flashback to a court scene that I have seen or an event they’ve already shown. Ranting over 😮‍💨

Can’t believe how good this show is. I have been binging it for a couple of days straight and my head hurt from irregular sleeping from it 🤭. Curious to see how it plays out. I’m half way through now.

you do realise s1 and 2 were filmed together...They just split them in two shows so they have more eps
Yes. Which is why the show didn’t need to be so long and be cut into two in the first place. Becaue they just kept filling the 2nd part with unnecessary drag until the last minute. It watered down the whole show.

The 2nd season made me come readjust my rating for this one since they are tied together. Should have ended the drama in season 1.

Didn’t need a 2nd part and dragged on for so longer with fillers just to make episodes for the 2nd season. 2nd season ruined the overall enjoyment the first season provided. So sad they did this. Anyway, glad it’s over and it was wrapped up well at least.

OMG! I’m so happy I came back to read the comments, if not, I wouldn’t have known there was such an important scene after the credits rolling. I should have noticed it was like 5 minutes of rolling credits.

That little scene has made me give this an over 10 rating. A 20/10 🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭.

Please C-dramaland, this and Filter should be the gold standard for drama production.

That code sentence of white head same heart, the running into his arms and him carrying her, and the kissing!!!!! I’ve got too many butterflies 🦋

Lol. They gave the emperor an out. After years of abusing and neglecting his own son and scheming against him,…
Becaue he blamed him for the death of his beloved empresss and felt it was a scheme for the Gao family to gain prominence that they enjoy. Add to the fact that he never really liked the consort who is Nan Heng’s mother. At least he accepted his wrong when he heard the truth unlike the SML who still blamed the ML after all the revelations. Shows he was just jealous of the ML.
