I can't believe I finished this drama before Lost You Forever. I started it first, then picked up Lost You Forever. I was enjoying Lost You Forever and just kept watching until Ep. 22. I took a trip and when I returned, I saw myself watching picking this dram first (I had just watched 2 episodes). I couldn't believe how I got hooked after Ep.3 and just stuck to it alone.
Now, I am done. I loved it, although hate the ending. Chinese drama endings have a way of grating my nerves. This was not as terrible, but it could be better for such a drama that had a lot of effort to it. So I will give it an 8.3/10 rating.
Please C-drama, stop ruining great dramas with open endings or not well thought out endings. Makes no sense. I watch dramas for entertainment not for me to be working as an analyst to figure out an ending 🤦🏾♀️.
She has a very feisty personality. I think she is having a hard time making herself meek or downtrodden. She is…
That's what the drama is trying to convey. Her character even said it in one of the earlier episodes. She had to stifle herself to be extremely virtuous and good, she didn't want to take one wrong step. She even pretends that her father provided for her and her mum even though he dotes on the Concubine, but this is a lie. She tries to cover up the shame of her family. You see the first glimpses of her feistiness once she married Gu JiuSu. I think when she finally becomes her true self, the expressions will be more in tune.
In the story of Minglan, Minglan couldn't pull off the downtrodden expressions too, because that was not her real personality.
I have not been disappointed with any Bai JinTing drama that I have seen (reset and a new life begins), this one hasn't disappointed me so far. Also, Song Yi was exceptional in Joy of Life. I like her character's maturity (I'm not too fond of childish C-drama characters and it's even more annoying if these characters are the main leads.). The characters' set-up has been great so far. I can't wait for more. I would rate the first 8 episodes an 8.4/10.
Ok, this drama is really weird. I liked the new concept and all, even enjoyed the adventure style storytelling, but what kind of ending it that.
The ending made a mess of the whole time I spent watching this. This drama could have gone on to be great, it just had to butcher the ending. Plus the last 2/3 episodes felt so unnecessary, it wasn’t connected to the main plot and felt the producers just wanted more episodes just for the heck of it.
C-dramaland please learn to end dramas well. A good drama with terrible ending ruins the whole experience. Sigh 😞.
Although it dragged a bit (producers really wanted 28 episodes), this is a sweet drama. Loved watching it. The main characters weren’t childish too (I hate childish adult characters)
I enjoyed every bit of this drama. It made me cry and laugh. The cast and crew did such an excellent job in giving us such a wonderful piece of art. AvenueX recommended it and I totally recommend too.
I’ve been waiting for long for this drama to finish full release as wanting to binge in one go…now that it’s…
Yea, it’s happy ending with love of PDAs when the couple finally get together. They do have chemistry too. The drama emulates is real life so the couple don’t start professing love to each other or acting over heels in love in a short period of time (if you’re looking for fast paced romance, May not be for you). But, when they fall in love, it’s like two actual adults and beautiful to watch. Also, the drama is a leisure watch (it’s not fast paced) but really entertaining. Every character had their story told properly.
A 40 episode drama that is worth every watch. Matured characters, realistic storylines, beautiful scenes, an all round great drama. A 10/10. Bonus: everyone in this drama look amazing. From the kid actors, to the younger actors and to the old actors, all beautiful people. Of course Liu Yifei is a classic beauty
The stylist and those who worked on the set, were fantastic.
I went on a journey with this drama and it felt like a great adventure.
I want to see mor dramas like this from China. I’m tired of seeing childish 20 and 30 year olds on my screens or where love stories that are awfully made.
I’m so happy Li Yufei is choosing matured and good scripts to appear in. This shows her level of acting and how much she’s grown
She was always behind her man in both parts. That's the only bad thing for the hong sis, they are biased in their…
I don’t think so. She basically trained him and was his master. They only pretended to be maid and Owner in front of people to hide her true identity. She controlled the narrative as Mudeok. Then part 2 came, she realised who she and after all the calamity when they went hunting for the relics, she wasn’t fighting but instead hiding behind him. They made her to be a powerful and strong character and then somehow relegated her to an ordinary lover woman by part 2.
I was happy to finish the second half of this show but, my rating is lower for this Part 2. I preferred Part 1. It was more badass and had lots of action. Part 2 felt like a love-focused show with little to no action which I felt was the ethos of this show. All that preparing for Season 1 to show us a powerful Naksu and she ends up behind the man at the end, him now her protector and her being weak. SMH 🤦🏾♀️

The ending is very satisfactory and thought put into it.
Great drama. I will miss it. Now, time to hunt for something watchable from C-dramaland.
