Title Gen Y
In my quest to watch as many awful BLs as I can, I've finally found rock bottom!!! Omg this should have been called BL Groundhog Day because there was no story just people having same surface/shallow/pointless conversations over and over.

Every "relationship" was devoid of even a basic level depth. None of these people knew anything about each other and yet pair after pair after pair were in scenes together professing their unending love. Clearly the writter got their inspiration from too many seasons of the Bachelor or a similar series. And the gendered stereotypes were by far the worst aspect of the show. Nearly all of the ukes could have easily been replaced by a teen girl who lived before the 1800s and she would have behaved exactly like the characters did in this show. The writer has obviously never met a guy in high school or college and just tried to satisfy a mostly very young female audience whose idea of romance came from what she saw in fairytales.

IMO damsels are the worst thing (besides rape that leads to love) in BL. But I have never seen a more irritating, entitled or useless damsel than Wayu. Every second he was on the screen was truly miserable. He was either crying, frowning, being showered with gifts or being a cock blocker in every scene he was in! I've always liked Bas, but I'm convinced the people behind the camera and his manager used this series to sabotage his career. But Kit was only slightly better, the constant scowl, the obvious disgust for Mark throughout most of the series, the "I'm so above this" attitude. Mark is a masochist, but also super self-involved, awful, obsessive and basically a glorifed stalker. The only interesting characters were 3 of the high schoolers and Thanu, but everything with them felt like a side story in a series with too many episodes that were all way too long and focused on all the wrong things.

None of the people behind the camera have ever made a good series. So I don't blame any of the 1000 "actors", I blame the people who made this abomination. I know every series is a product of it's time, but this genric mess filled 10 "BL trope" bingo cards every episode. Only something this bad could make What's Zapp Man or 2 Moons 3 the Ambassador seem like well written series by comparison. I can't believe this actually got a sequel!!! And I'm about to watch it.

So what does this mean? "Indefinitely"? But then they are "looking forward to see us". They are never going to…
Very weird

For a moment I had a flashback to Dinosaur Love due to the sound and music 😅
I binge bad series on weekdays when nothing else is on and try watch "good" series as they air. For some reason, I'm watching For Him as it airs knowing it's awful 🤷‍♀️.

But I agree completely, work ruins everything. There aren't enough hours in the day/week to watch everything. I'm behind on a bunch of shows that I want to watch 😔

I know I'm too biased to ever saying a bad thing about Gun or his acting. But wow this show is missing the mark in a lot of important ways. It might have been good if it aired 5 years ago, but BL has evolved past this overly predictable, flimsy script and simple characters who lack depth (FyMy are carrying this show on their backs). I know the target audience are kids and I'm fine with innocent and light hearted series, but this could been 8 episodes instead of adding so much filler and "suspense" to drag it out to 12.

And literally the last thing I want to see from Gun is a damsel character who needs to be taken care of by Off all the time. This weekend has been filled with disappointing episodes 😮‍💨

I knew the BL gods were playing a joke in on us with this series from the beginning. But as one of the 10 people who are actually watching this each week, I was really looking forward to the chaotic finale. I'm so disappointed. I hope it airs sooner or later.

It’s kinda amazing that it took until 2 days ago for the company to realize the vast majority of BL fans have no interest in the series. I'm sure they didn't sell many tickets to the live finale.

Great, I'm adding it to my list. I'm currently trying to force myself to finish GenY knowing there's an even worse sequel. It's torture, but after both seasons, I'll watch Dinosaur Love. Idk why I do this to myself lol. But thanks for the recommendation.

I only made it 10 minutes and turned it off. My ears hurt from all the sound effects, extras, paparazzi, fake "American" accents and obsessed fans.

The protagonist seems nice. But that Zendaya app felt a bit too much like current MDL where only positive comments are deemed acceptable by certain fandoms. In a world where good and bad exist, being forced to only consider the good is not healthy. And since I can't think of anything positive about what I just watched or Star Hunter, I'll drop it.

I only watched the first episode of Dinosaur Love. I might revisit it if it's as bad as For Him. I kinda love truly terrible series.

On a positive note, I'm liking Min and Jinta WAY more than Minato and Tsuge. Tsuge was so over-the-top that he…

I didn't like the episode. I wouldn't want to work for a boss who thought it was ok to control my life like that. Jinta's scenes were the only ones I liked. Glad we got the confession at the end though.

I'm also tired of rich/powerful people using their power to dominate others. That's not a criticism of the show, at least they didn't shy away from the fact that that woman was terrible. But the boss letting it happen was also really messed up. Now I hate the boss.

The fact that each episode is worst, more confusing amd shorter than the last is making me stick with it. Nothing makes sense. The sound editing in this episode just reminds me that they gave up a long time ago and no one cares, so neither do I!

This is also the first BL I've watched where I like the straight characters more than the gay ones. I'll be back next week 🙃
On Mr. Sahara & Toki-kun Feb 2, 2024
This show was everything!!! When it started I had no idea I'd love it so much. But as the weeks went by Toki quickly stole my heart. And he suddenly became my favorite character of all time. I've never watched a show where I felt this much pure joy every single episode. There were so many memorable moments and I know I'll be watching them over and over for a long time.

The technical aspects were so perfect that they put most BLs to shame. The use of sound effects was easily the best I've seen (heard). The cinematography was stunning! The while not perfect (Nekoto got WAYYYYY too much screen time), kept me completely invested for the entire show. And the acting, omg I love it when real actors are cast in series and not random good looking guys they find off the street. Solid acting elevated a very simple story. And the writing was so layered and beautiful. Two lead characters who seem like the most confident alpha males possible, were allowed to be vulnerable, uncertain, confused and scared together. They were just regular imperfect people, whose love for each other was unwavering and strong 🥰

I never engaged in any of the debates, but I'd hope that at least some people who are on the fence about the age gap and step brother storylines still give it a chance. The series is barely 13+.

Anyway, a few weeks ago I was ready to riot knowing the show was coming to an end. But after a mostly perfect finale, I'm totally satisfied. No riot needed! A season 2 would be amazing, but if it ends here, it's still my all time favorite comedic BL. 9.5/10 (It would have been a 10 if there was less Nekoto!)
On Dead Friend Forever - DFF Feb 1, 2024
I can't decide if I should put this on hold or drop it all together. I loved the first 4 episodes, but the last 2 felt like prolonged torture. When it was a bottle film (series) in a cabin in the woods with a mysterious killer, I was invested. When it became a high school bullying series it lost me.

Horror usually has archetypal characters like "the rich guy", "the horny guy", "the mean guy", "the nerd". This works because when lots of people die throughout the course of a movie or series, it's better not to have them be fully fleshed out characters that the audience gets attached to. But a series focusing on a bullied kid and all the people in his life who are terrorizing him, is big shift from simple archetypes. The more I learn about the people who were introduced in the cabin, the more I hate them. And wish the story would move on past the miserable flashback.

For me, if the show had started with a flashback at the school, then shifted to present day in the cabin, everything that happened in episodes 1-4 would have felt more like the ideal payoff that you get when the villain is finally killed at the end of a horror movie. Instead, it feels like a distant memory while we continue to relive the suffering of a victimized kid with no end in sight.

Maybe I'll check back in once it ends. But for now, the suspense is destroyed and I only care if a few characters survive till the end. The show is better than most Thai BLs these days, but I love horror and hate bullying, so I'm disappointed.

Even though the writing isn't great, the series has never bored me. And I really love all of the characters. Like most viewers, I also developed a case of second lead syndrome. FyMy are precious. I know Neo has worked opposite many actors, but I hope gmmtv gives these 2 another series together.

I also would love it if Samsi got a bf/gf, but that's probably not gonna happen unfortunately.

I haven't seen the other My Universe stories and only watched this one because Winner was in it. I didn't know what the plot was when I started it. Overall, it was fine. Simple and sweet. I hope Winner gets a lead role in a full length series soon!
