I am one of the people who like the second couple more than the main and actually only watch it because of the…
Exactly! It gets harder and harder for me to keep watching bad shows, when I see amazing shows with great writing, directing and acting. IMO the companies who aren't trying to improve, deserve to have viewers drop their shows. I'm done with the excuses for all this crap, other series have raised the bar.
At a time when Thai BL seems to get worse and worse everyday, this show is a real standout. It's stunning to watch a supernatural series effectively create characters that feel like real people.
It's hard to disagree with anyone who says this is the best series of the year because I can't think of any real flaws. With so many studios stealing ideas from each other and churning out the same tired tropes over and over, I REALLY hope other studios are learning from what GMMTV did with this and MLC. These people go through hardships and grow, the parents aren't evil villians forcing their kids to live the lives the parents want, they are people who have made mistakes and love their kids. That's so real and amazingly rare. The female characters aren't obsessed with the main character and behaving as if he's the last man on Earth and spending the entire series plotting ways to force the man to be with her inspite of the fact that he's gay. They're people who want to be happy and won't settle for a guy who doesn't want them, just to be in a relationship. That's the most beautiful thing about Pear and Kwan. We NEED more women characters like them in BL ๐. Pear is 100% the most well written female character I've ever seen in a BL.
But Max being unapologetically gay from start to finish was also truly amazing. This isn't a "I'm only gay for him" series. This is a series with multiple gay people living their lives. No one including the main characters is perfect and even though it's a series about going back in time to fix past mistakes, it never feels like a fairytale.
I don't think any other actors besides Krist and Gawin could have made me love Kawi and Piseng's relationship so much. They were WONDERFUL together. I never had to wonder why they were together or feel like their relationship was contrived. They clicked from episode 1 and watching them grow up together over the of 12 episodes is exactly what I want in a series.
Wow this series was truly exceptional ๐ ๐๐
Another BL that's all over the place but gets a pass from some because it's cute/funny or whatever. But at this…
Same. the only positive comments I've seen have focused on the looks of the actors or the "sexy" moments. That's not enough for me, I need a well written story or it all feels like a waste of time.
I was wondering how much longer the mostly female BL writers were going to force feed us adult ukes who despise sex. I'm sooooo glad this series is not doing that. Hoping this show doesn't disappoint! And can't wait for next week.
I am one of the people who like the second couple more than the main and actually only watch it because of the…
I'm dropping it too. I've seen more than 200 Thai BLs. I'll probably never stop watching them, but this year has been filled with endless disappointment.
This show had so much hype, but is not living up to it at all. So many ideas are thrown into each episode, but it's all rushed and underdeveloped. I've seen series that tell complete stories in 8 episodes. But that's nearly impossible to do with so many characters, so many unnecessary plot points and very little depth.
As far as I can tell, 3 guys have a crush on LJ. That could be interesting if LJ wasn't the most bland character in the series. I always find it hard to believe that the most inept person in an office series, is also the one that people chase after. I've yet to see one character trait that makes LJ so desirable. And why would someone who can't use a copier, who can barely take coffee orders and doesn't know what a shared drive is get hired as an intern in an office ๐ค. If this was a fish out of water story about a former idol trying to start over in an office and he was the only intern, this MIGHT work. But the other interns being competent, just make me think he only got the job because CJ likes him. It all feels too contrived for my brain to turn off and enjoy it.
Too bad they didn't get longer episodes, because there could be an interesting story about childhood friends who meet years later and fall in love. With only 4 episodes left, I'd be very surprised if this gets better.
I've never been a JaFirst fan, but I gave this show a pass for 5 weeks. Dealing with awful stereotypes of transgender women and all the other ridiculous things because the show was mostly innocent and filled the time on a Monday. But what in the non-con did they do in episode 6?!?!?!?!?! Why turn the most likeable character into a rapist? Most people liked the second couple more tha the first and now that's completely destroyed. I'm starting to wonder why I even bother with Thai BLs these days. Disappointing series are all there are these days, besides BMF and that is ending this week.
The director has always been awful but wow this might be worse than Bite Me and I gave that a 1!
That was a very pleasant surprise. It's rare to see a KBL with such a high rating, but this series deserves it. Both actors were adorable and the relationship of the characters was too. The villian was believable and the conclusion of the story left me smiling.
It would have been to hard to remain patient for 8 whole weeks, so I appreciated that all of the episodes were released at the same time. I haven't seen that since Blueming another really great series. I hope more people watch Sing My Crush.
For the last 11 weeks this has consistently been the best BL to air each week. All of the actors are doing a really great job. And Pear is by far the most well written female character I've ever seen in a BL. I truly hope that the BL gods bless everyone with a non- tragic ending. But right now I'm scared that this could be as big of a gut punch let down as The Miracle of the Teddy bear was ๐ฎโ๐จ
The series was lacking in some ways, but I really enjoyed both Ren and Kazuma and the actors who played them. By the end I was so glad I watched it and wished we got to spend more time with the young and older verisons of these characters. I'll definitely rewatch it.
There were so many great things about this episode, the show acknowledging that guys get turned on when they're with the person they love, them turning off the lightsbefore going to sleep, Pun having bad breath in the morning and so much more. All these are normal things in the real world, but tv often ignores them. I'm not taking these characters seriously, but those moments made them seem more like real humans and I really appreciated that the writer added them to the story.
Also, I love every time Pun calls Mingmueang Daddy. It's so innocent and adorable.
But I wish they cut out everything with Sompriao and the people around her.
I've seen some bad kiss scenes, but what makes this one probably one of the worst I've seen was definitely Mon..…
Exactly!!!! I've seen 100s of BL kisses and I almost never judge a series based on a bad kiss. But dead fish kisses have nothing on this kiss. Mon really did turn into a blinking statue and what made that even weirder was watching Thames lean in like his was about give him the kiss of a lifetime. And even after, Thames had this proud look on his face like he'd just done something spectacular, while Mon was standing their as emotionless as a mannequin. I think it might have worked witha different actor, but the guy playing Mon is not delivering in any scene.
It might as well have been a still image lol. It would have been better to only have a forehead kiss if they were…
I agree. I thought the camera was gonna freeze as soon as he leaned in, but then Mon started blinking.๐คฆโโ๏ธ. A forehead kiss would have been SOOOOO much better!
Comments like this are really unfortunate. Instead of discussing the merits of the series, you've decided that…
"People hating on this show just donโt know how Japan works. " IMO you are calling people who don't share your opinions about the show uninformed haters is name calling. If you disagree that's fine. It's impossible to have a discussion with someone who is convinced that their point of view is the only valid one and then plays the victim when someone shares a different perspective.
I never brought up Europeans, Americans or Westerners, once again you're making assumptions about the audience based on your preexisting thoughts/beliefs. People all over the world watch shows from other parts of the world and all people are entitled to share their thoughts on this site about shows. It is art and art is subjective.
Feeling a personal connection with a tv show is a wonderful experience. But your personal connection to a show does not negate the thoughts or opinions of other people.
I am on here to read other people's opinions about Minato Shouji Coin Laundry season 2, not to debate your prejudices (you literally prejudged people who disagree with you in your initial comment) or norms within your family. I won't be responding anymore because conversations like this are not productive.

Comments like this are really unfortunate. Instead of discussing the merits of the series, you've decided that your personal experiences nullify the thoughts and opinions of other people who you know nothing about. Assuming that everyone commenting about flaws in the series are non-Asian "haters" who are only expressing these opinions because of ignorance about Japanese society is extremely presumptuous. You have no idea who in this forum is or isn't Japanese or Asian, as if it even matters. There is no rule that says only people in the country a show or movie is made in can have an opinion on that show or movie. There are literally billions of Asian people and all of them don't express love the same way. All Asians who live outside of Asia don't express love in the same way either. You being Asian does not automatically make you the authority or what is "normal" in Asia a continent with 45+ countries.
I've yet to see one comment suggesting that the problem with this series is that Minato doesn't tell Shin he loves him frequently enough. And even if someone does think that, they are entitled to think it no matter what their nationality is. I could list dozens of Japanese series with characters who express love in various ways to their partners or families. And 100s of series throughout. There is not only one way to express love in any culture.
Lastly, the way you express love within your family is YOUR BUSINESS. This is a BL, a genre that focuses on love within a couple, not familial love. So how your family expresses love in your house has little to do with how these tv characters who are boyfriends do or do not express love in their relationship. You are entitled to your opinion without being called names and so are all the rest of us. But coming here and suggesting that commenters are wrong just because they don't think like you or haven't lived your experiences is not kind and is very unnecessary.
