This is the most accurate review I have read. It looks like kindergarten! The story no longer has any interest,…
I agree. This year has felt like a big regression. The focus has shifted to quantity, while the quality of many series in terms of the writing just isn't there. I've dropped more shows this year than ever before and that is really unfortunate. This show is a perfect example of how frustrating regression from characters is to watch. I'm not looking forward to 8 more episodes of these characters.
"You're such a hopeless fool" - Minato. Yeah that sums up all 4 characters perfectly, the problem for me is that the longer these relationships tread water, the less I care.
Shin's complete devotion to Minato was kinda endearing is season 1, but now he just seems pathetic and foolish. Minato is no better because even though his behavior has stayed consistent, the writer has failed to explain why a 30 year man in the 21st century behaves like a prideful virgin from 100s of years ago, protecting his chastity as if it was the greatest prize in the world. Literally no one would put up with this shit except for Shin and yet he treats Shin like crap every single day. If I can't understand a character's motivation because the writer didn't bother to give him any depth, then I can't get invested or stay invested in a story. Is it so hard to give us a flashback showing something that would make Minato's current aversion to any kind of intimacy make sense!?!??!
I don't need these two to have skinship, I don't need Minato to be kind (but honestly that shouldn't be too much to ask for when Shin treats him sooooo well), but I do need to have a reason to want these characters to be together or each episode feels truly pointless. And that's where I am now. I know they'll end up together. I know there will be a bunch of misunderstandings just to fill the run time. And at this point, the entire season feels pointless!!
I won't bother talking about the other couple because one conversation could solve all of their "problems" and I'm beyond sick of watching series after series with guys who don't communicate just for the sake of "conflict". It's lazy writing and very uninteresting to watch.
I think I would have enjoyed this more if I waited until it ended and binged it. Watching sadness and suffering week after week all because of a child's secret is frustrating. I love the love Ren and Kazuma have for each other. But everything else is a seemingly endless weight on the series.
Flashbacks of happy moments are nice, but not enough to make me look forward to the rest of the story. It's clear the episode 7 will be more of the same and the pair will reunite at the end of the finale. I'd rather see a story about what happens to them after they get together for real, instead of weeks and weeks of what we've seen so far. *sigh*
I'd be ok with a mostly sad story that focused on Ren's grief and how losing Kazuma hurt him over the years. But they are spending time on the rapist boss instead of going more indepth into what Ren is feeling. And that's also frustrating.
It's hard to find good things to say about this one. It's lacking in all the ways that make a series worth watching. I'm sticking with it for now just because I've dropped so many series this year that my watch list is nearly empty. Thank goodness for 2x speed!
The first episode was fine. There are so many office BLs these days, that most of the first episode felt like a bland retelling of series I've already seen. The actor playing Lee Jun didn't do a good enough job to make me look forward to more from him. The constant deer in the headlights style of acting is not enjoyable for me.
But I'm a sucker for kids in BLs and the boys were adorable. I'll stick around hoping for more flashbacks with them.
Hard pass from me. I just can't sit through another Thai BL with amateur acting and a paper thin script. Also, I know this is the year of the office BL, but it would be great if the people making Thai office BLs had ever stepped inside a real office. Each office set looks like a rich kid's fantasy of an office.
I hope they got a big check from McDonald's that was effective advertising. Now I really want some french fries!
Mame knows her audience, so I'm sure plenty of viewers love every minute of this one. Enjoy it 👋
Finally! Someone talking about women slapping men in these series. I’m sick to the teeth of it. And the thing…
"And the thing is, they do it because they know they won’t get hit back." - EXACTLY!! She felt like she was entitled to repeatedly hit them and that is completely wrong. I don't want women getting hit, but I don't want men getting hit either. It's never ok to do that.
Episode 7 was by far the worst of the series. Mostly sex scenes and almost no story for the side characters. I know irl many people are anti-gay, but it's exhausting watching series after series with people who are violently anti-gay and truly despicable in every way. Also tired of watching women slapping men and acting like that's acceptable behavior. It's not ok to hit people even when you're angry. That is assault.
I know this is a short telenovela, but wow is it focusing on the wrong things. It's over next week and I'll forget about it quickly, it's hard not to be disappointed with next yet another below average series that wasted its potential.
I know Oxin isn't going to improve, but if they just took out all the awkward and immature conversations about sex, their series would be soooooo much more enjoyable to watch.
In Thailand, they have what's called a "pilot trailer." It's a trailer that's created before the show is actually…
I'm used to seeing multiple trailers from the con ept stage of a series until they are about to air. I just didn't know the very first trailer was called a pilot.
This was my most anticipated Thai series of the year and the trailer/pilot did not disappoint.
TayNew have always been great together, I felt their chemistry every second. And I'm soooooo excited to see SingJan on screen together, those two deserve all the happiness and success. The whole cast is going to be great and I'm hopeful that the script lives up to the original. I can't wait for the first episode!!!
The real joke is the inflated rating! Between Dunk's acting that most people have appropriately dragged for being worse than in the trailer and SIMM, and this cookie cutter script we've seen dozens of times before, this deserves a 7.5 at best. But GMMTV BLs are consistently rated higher than other Thai BLs when they start, so I'm not really surprised by the very high rating for such an average series after one day.
On a positive note, the complete lack of chemistry between the leads makes JaFirst's new series seem good by comparison and only because those two have real on-screen chemistry!
I'm putting this on hold until Be My Favorite is over. The plot of both GMMTV shows is too similar, Kawi is frustrating but not an entitled, self-involved, loser like Zo appears to be so far and Krist and Gawin can act, unlike what we have here.
After watching Hidden Agenda yesterday I started feeling more positive about the first episode of BMS. So when I watched episode 2 I fast forwarded through everything with Punn's family and every second with manager Sompriao. And I really enjoyed episode 2.
Ja is doing a good job and even though First didn't have much to do, I enjoyed his scenes too. Of course the plots of HA and BMS are nothing alike, but both have leads who are established ships and it's nice that JaFirst actually have chemistry. And it's also nice that the plot of this series isn't exactly the same as a million other BLs. I'm looking forward to watching Punn and Ashi grow closer in future episodes.
I thought the first episode was good. Both leads were likeable and had decent chemistry. The storyline made sense and doesn't seem like it will be rushed throughout the series. The side characters weren't annoying and didn't distract from the mains. Compared to other Thai BLs this year, it was a much better first episode than what we've been getting.
The pacing was pretty chill though, kinda like Ghost Host, Ghost House, so I'm not surprised that people wanting something faster were bored. But I'm looking forward to rest of the series. I hope people give it a chance before trusting the low rating. MDL ratings are always skewed low for Thai BLs without established ships.
This show wouod be pretty good without Louise. I know most BL fans aren't watching it, but the story is standard and the actors are doing a decent job. Plus Chukchuk and his aren't around which is wonderful.
"I'm not watching a non con story"yet u listed kp as best series in 2022?
Somehow me not wanting to watch another non con BL, means I'm not allowed to have an opinion on future series that include non con, if I've ever seen one that has had a strong story or characters. Ok whatever, investigate the profile of someone you don't know for some reason then come here to that comment just because you can, instead discussing the trailer.

This place gets worse every week.
