Title My Only 12%
The very last scene summed up exactly how this really good show missed the mark in the end. For 12 episodes it was laser-focused on the relationship between Cake and Eiw. Episode 12 ended with one of the most romantic scenes I've ever seen. But then it all came crashing down. Did the writers get bored with BL and want to try to make a rushed lakorn or after-school special? Why did they write THAT ending?!?!?!?! (I know this is based on a book and I'm guessing it stuck close to the source material, but what works in a book doesn't always work on TV.)

I will never understand why they chose to end a BL by focusing on everything except boys being in love. Watching Eiw crying in the earlier episodes was somewhat draining, but it made sense for a young fairly isolated boy wrestling with his sexuality to have so many emotions swirling around inside of him. Later after the couple FINALLY got together, it felt like all the pain was worth it. Until episode 13 turned this show into a sob fest all over again.

Is what happened sad? Yes. But did it work for a final episode? No. And did Eiw's conversation with his dad make the story any better? For me, again it's a no. If this was a lakorn then I'd have nothing against this writing choice, but it's not.

Overall, I thought Santa did an AMAZING job. It's always nice to see Peak (the actor) and I liked his character. And Earth did a really good job with what he was given. I've got comments on Pao's ending, but I won't even bother. The story worked until it didn't. If I ever watch it again, I'll do a lot of fast-forwarding and stop before the later episodes. I know Wabi Sabi LOVES tears, but there are other ways to tell a compelling story and this one was very compelling until they derailed it.

P.S. In a country with one of the highest levels of air pollution in the world, it's hard to believe that the ultimate message is "smoking is bad". Yes, smoking is bad. But I'm here for BL, not an anti-smoking ad.

Also, NO ONE watches a series like this hoping for a redemptive arch for the absentee parent!!!
On Ghost Host, Ghost House Nov 12, 2022
I think this show could have been great with more episodes to fully flesh out all of the interesting backstory and the complex emotions the ghosts deal with before their final days. But honestly, I feel robbed because yet again we were SOOOOOOO CLOSE to FINALLY having an epic GL, but all we got was 3 minutes!!!!! 😡😡

The music is what is driving me away. The weird "Do Whop" song that intrudes randomly, and the prancing piano…
Yeah we're on the same page. If it were longer I'd have more patience. But I will check on the show again in a few weeks to see if there's more focus on character development :D

Praying to the BL gods 🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯 that this is much better than everything they've done since UWMA (not including Between Us). I REALLY want these two to have a good series again, but that trailer makes me a bit concerned.

You touched on most of my main issues. Yes, what they are experiencing is realistic. I can empathize with everyone's situation. But spending a few minutes each episode with most of the "main" characters is not enough to develop them. And not enough to make me feel invested in most of what's happening.

If we spent more time with Champ and got to see him in class or watched more than a few minutes from his perspective that would be great. If we got more than a few minutes from Name's perspective, that would also be great. But we spent more time with Name's mom than Name.

But I get it, it's a coming-of-age story and shows the difficulties people face while growing up. I've seen many coming-of-age stories that I've loved. For me, this one is boring, frustrating and not engaging. In world where there are so many good shows on all the time, watching this isn't worth my time. But I truly hope it gets better.

I just love this show soooooo much!!! Sometimes I wish the episodes were longer, but I know Strongberry has a small budget, so I'm just grateful this exists 🥰🥰

After falling in love with the uniqueness of this series in the first couple of episodes, this week I realized I need to put it on hold. Everything that was special about the friendships of 6 little boys is gone and I'm bored and irritated. I've never watched series with such mind-numbing music, every single scene does not need a melancholy song or repetitive piano!!!!! But I could get past that if the story was good and at this point for me, it isn't.

I have no clue why they rushed to have the characters be in college. There are a TON of Thai BLs set in college and this one is missing everything that makes college BLs enjoyable. There are way too many characters and barely any character development. I have no idea why Champ and Em have the hardest classes in their freshman year that any college student has ever had, but it doesn't make sense. I have no idea why Gun has lied to Golf for more than a decade, but it doesn't make sense and makes me dislike the main character. I have no idea why Em changed soooooo much and now treats Name like liability instead of his closest friend and it makes no sense. I have no idea why everyone just let Name (who is the youngest person on the show) devolve into a person that sits in his room confused about the world and then the mom and Em blame him for his situation, but it's really unpleasant to watch, ableist and cruel.

Name has been my favorite character from the start and I have no desire to watch him suffer for who knows how long while the others go on with their lives. The writers had something good and lost it. I will come back once it's over to see if this improved.

After LOVING TeamWin in UWMA and waiting 3 long years for their return and then seeing the trailer, I was worried that this wouldn't be as good as I'd hoped. As I watched the first episode, I immediately got second lead syndrome because of DeanPharm. I also, hated every second A, Bee and Sea were on screen. But as it went on, Team and Win showed why they are leads of this series and I am 100% here for it. Overall, I was blown away with how well it all worked. TeamWin are finally here and I can't wait until next week!!!!!!!!!

This episode was also a wonderful example of CONSENT and that made me love it even more 🥰🥰

I'm so glad I waited and binged episodes 1-12 after some other shows ended. The pacing and character development are really wonderful. The time jump worked perfectly and the complexity of Cake's character in the later episodes is something you almost never see in Thai BLs these days. Both actors are doing a really amazing job. This is easily one of the best series of the year. I hope more people see it.

After spending 10 weeks loving this show and praising the actors, I'm sad that I didn't feel the same way about the last 2 episodes. This isn't the first show that I loved in the earlier episodes and couldn't find much to praise as it ended, but I wish the ending was as good as the rest of the series. I'll miss this series because when it was great, it felt unique in the best way. First and Khao are truly amazing and I hope GMMTV doesn't waste yet another great ship by not giving them another series, they earned it!

You are so right on about young guys getting it on rather than holding hands etc. I'm so tired of that old trope…
Exactly. Most guys 18-25 years old would behave like Kawin and Pluem but BL audiences almost never see relationships like this one. I feel like BLs these days are usually on one extreme or the other. Either two adults behave like eternal virgins who are saving themselves for marriage and those shows end with a forced proposal. Or they spend most of the series hooking up and usually have little in common and it's hard to understand why they're even together.

It's ridiculous and made me really appreciate this show a lot more than I thought I would when it started.
On Ghost Host, Ghost House Oct 27, 2022
Tod and Boy did such a great job in this episode, it's hard to believe they aren't both experienced actors. I know not many people are watching this series and the previous episodes had some flaws, but episode 4 was some of the best tv I've seen all year.

Not only did a lot of important information get revealed, but we also learned a lot more about Pleum. And since this is a BL easily the most important thing that happened was that two guys in their 20s who like each other actually behaved liked guys in their 20s instead little kids who think holding hands or sniff kisses equal steamy romance. I don't know how a show about ghosts has characters that are more realistic than most Thai most BLs, but I'm 100% here for this!!! I hope the writers have a lot more jobs lined up 👏👏👏👏

I hope everyone watches on their youtube channel if it's available in your area.

Im sad that they chose to race through 10 years of adorableness in 3 episodes so now for the rest of the series we're left with yet another college Thai BL. The kids in episode 1 were great and the show felt different in a really good way. Now it feels like a typical Thai BL. Once again JaFirst are playing characters who weren't together for years for a silly forced reason and I know I've seen that before. For me Name and Em are the reason I'm sticking with this show. I haven't seen a character as wonderful as Name in a really long time and I wish he and Em were the leads.

Also, I'm just gonna fast forward through Mean's scenes. He seems like a nice older friend, but he adds nothing of value to the series.
On Oh! My Sunshine Night Oct 25, 2022
I can't believe we made it to the end and all we have to show for it is the last few minutes of episode 18. I'm really gonna miss this show, because of the comments section, RainPhayu and the world's most laughable villain/doctor. But even though there have been a lot of awful series in 2022, IMO this one is the worst. The other series didn't have such strong actors, such a good premise, such an interesting side couple, such a big budget and squander ALL OF IT. We know this could have been sooooo much better. I could write 10 paragraphs on things that could have been done differently that would have improved the series but there's no point. 18 episodes of mostly filler and only 2 good characters (one of whom was sidelined for most of the final episodes) is what we got.

Fans of Rain and Phayu were robbed. A smart company will give Noh and Peterpan leading roles soon because they are great together. I'm gonna pray to the BL gods that soon characters like Sun will disappear and that helpless damsels in distress in BL will be a bad memory. I am looking forward to OhmFluke's next project hopefully it's much better than Oh! My Sunshine Night and Close Friends 2.

The plot sounds similar to an old Japanese BL that I loved. I'm also really glad that Suar got another role. Most of the cast of You're My Sky did a great job and he was one of the best. I hope that it's good.

I think the writers have had too much to put into the series. They have 2 couples in which each character is given…
I agree. I think some aspects of the series were planned out well, but others seem like afterthoughts. For me, when it focused on the 4 leads, it was most interesting. The curse and uncle storylines were never very interesting to me. I also agree about them adding scenes later. Many shows do it, be here it makes things feel disjointed. This show has done so much right, I hate seeing an episode like 11 that showcases its shortcomings.
