Title Light
This is not an easy watch. But it is very well made and it doesn't feel short even though it's only 45 minutes. Light is an amazingly complex character and someone who I cared about a lot. This movie shows that in a horrible world a few good people can save someone. I loved the tailor shop owner even though her role was small and even though Shuo is not perfect, I'm so glad he met Light.

For me what separates this movie from so many others with a similar topic was the way they made a clear distinction between BDSM sex, sex work, and rape. The 3 are different, but film/tv often conflates them and ignores the nuisances of various types of sex and sexual interactions.

Most Bl fans jump on when romance part start - for now we had one "accidental" kiss if you compare it with Love…
I'm not sure where you have gotten your data from, but I think most BL fans watch BLs. Also, skinship and romance are not the same thing. Romance can be a conversation, a gesture, act of kindness, thoughtful words and so much more. The scene where Thua and Khan ate ice cream on the beach was romantic. And Akk and Ayan have shared many romantic scenes so far in the series. IMO the romance we've seen to this point is very endearing and a strong reason why the relationships between Akk and Ayan and Thua and Khan will be believable as the series progresses.

People who only want to see "romance" (skinship) between characters, gay or straight, exist but don't make up a majority of any audience. Yes, ratings for series tend to go up in episodes where there is skinship, but ratings don't usually go up by +50%. I'm not sure if you think shows should cater to this audience subset, but I don't know of any genre that would cater to that subset of viewers besides people who make porn.

Either way, I think this is a good show and I wish more people were watching it. But if people who aren't currently watching it are waiting to see high schoolers hook up, those viewers aren't needed and won't be missed.

This is too short to make me feel invested in any character, but also short enough that I didn't rage quit it during episode 3. Din and Milan are both bad people, so when they were on screen I watched on 2x speed. Ruining someone's relationship while crying doesn't make you sympathetic! The old lady was fine, but it was sad that her family didn't help her sell the house. I'm pretty sure people with Alzheimers need more support than she received throughout the series. Tam and Tokyo were fine, but since the whole show had very little substance, it was hard to feel anything for such a short relationship. I wouldn't recommend this and hope that this company stops trying to make BLs since they clearly don't understand BL audiences. But I've seen worse and the ending was cute.

Title Check Out
Both Check Out Special episodes were fun too watch and pretty much softcore porn. My only complaint is that episodes 1-12 also exist. If they don't announce a new series for TeeIce, the company that made this dumpster fire is even dumber than I thought they were. But either way, 30 seconds of episode 13 were the most NC17 thing I've seen in a Thai BL. 😲

This is easily my favorite series that's airing right now and the best thing that GMMTV has made so far this year. Neo has always been a good actor, but he's gotten REALLY good. I want to see him in a lead role asap! First is amazing in everything he does, but First + Khaotung is must see tv.

It's sad that this show isn't getting as much attention as many GMMTV shows. I think that's partly because some people have BL fatigue and because on the surface, this show seems like any other show about high schools fighting against grownups in power. But I am LOVING the fact that they don't spend every episode figuring out the mystery around the curse and instead focus on developing the relationships between the 5 students.

There's nothing groundbreaking about this show, but I like Smart and I appreciate that they aren't going to drag this out for 12 episodes unnecessarily.

Rossi is such a good actor that even though I'm confused, I don't want the episodes to end. The series is so beautiful and relaxing, but also sad. I'm thankful to everyone that was involved in the making and release of this very special series.

Good to know. I'm glad Jeff got away from them. I have no faith in the company's ability to improve the content they create. But I hope you're right about Gameplay. If he left them and worked on improving as an actor, I'd happily watch him in a future role.

🤣🤣 I'm sure she'll come up with a silly excuse and everyone will just go along with it. As for the bodyguards, maybe you're right. Great employees who have "fun" together after hours!

That's the problem with DV8, Ingredients had the appeal because of what Jeff and Gameplay did with it, outside…
I'm confused about how much DV8 was involved in the making of Ingredients. There are a few clips of Ingredients on DV8's youtube page, but the show is on Food Central's youtube channel. And each episode only shows Food Central and the Tops grocery stores in the credits and I can't find the name of the writer or director. As far as I can tell, My Boyfriends concert (whatever that is), Love with Benefits and Work from Heart are the only productions made by DV8. I saw Love with Benefits and this isn't any better than that.

For Ingredients, Jeff and Gameplay had great chemistry and Gameplay is a chef so his passion for food was easy to see in each episode. Jeff would be good in pretty much any role. But Gameplay's track record since Ingredients is not strong. Either way, this is my last DV8 series.

I tried, but I'm dropping this. No amount of attractive people will make up for bad writing, directing and acting. It boggles my mind that Thailand can't make a decent office BL when other countries consistently can. But I'm not sure this was ever even supposed to be a BL. It seems like they got a bunch of people who'd never taken an acting class before, put them in an office set and gave them some lines to read. Then they realized no one would watch that, so they added in a BL subplot. Using BL as a way to get views is very frustrating, but not bothering to have production quality better than something shot on an iPhone is a deal breaker for me.

Actors need to be able to ACT, not just dress up like they're going to a nightclub. I won't give a pass to anyone involved in this, even people I previously liked because it's clear that they aren't even trying.
On Unforgotten Night Sep 1, 2022
I'll ignore the fact that Danil is the least threatening villain ever. And the fact that the bodyguards seem to have forgotten their threesome from just last week. And the fact that Kim, Kamol and Danil had the same conversation over and over throughout the episode. But Cherry crossed the line when she shot at Baiboon. Kim and the audience are all pretty much his parents at this point (which is confusing but whatever) and she must pay for harming that baby!!!!

idk have we ever had a BL that had this kind of open unbridled desire? (I'll take recommendations!) (and I mean…
I appreciate the challenge. Here are some that I can think of Dark Blue and Moonlight, Win Jaime's Heart, Cutie Pie, A Frozen Flower, No Regret, and White Night. It doesn't seem like you've seen them based on your watchlist. I don't think the first 3 are very good, but they do have unbridled desire. Also, there is an Argentinean gay film called Esteros, that also meets your guidelines.
As the show continues, I keep thinking of the conversation around whether or not this is a BL and I'm starting to think it is and it isn't. The electric chemistry that we see every moment Inn and Wang are on camera together and the gradual progression of their relationship is BL. No, it doesn't follow all of the tropes we're used to seeing in Thai BLs that mainly focus on two college or high school boys. But it does fit with many of the BLs that focus on older characters.

On the other hand, I think the story that focuses on the complex relationship between a self-centered attention-seeking mother who cries to get sympathy even when she's wrong, her gay son, their codependent relationship and her old friend, aligns more with LGBTQ+ movies/series that are usually made in places like Japan and Taiwan.

Both aspects of the story are very compelling and I'm glad to see something like this coming out of Thailand. The cinematography, lighting, pacing, sound editing and music are also a delight to experience each week. But personally, I find the second aspect of the story to be draining because I'm here to see the relationship between Inn and Wang develop. And people like Mol drive me crazy. But at least she'll be gone for 2 days!!!!!
On 21 Days Theory Aug 29, 2022
This was fine. It had all of the sweet moments you'd expect in a high school BL and mostly likeable characters. Because of the premise, I couldn't help but think of Seven Days: Monday - Thursday and Seven Days: Friday - Sunday which also told the story of 2 boys falling in love with a deadline and in about 2.5 hours of total runtime. This series is only slightly longer than those two movies, but this pretty weak by comparison.

Most good series with very short runtimes focus on the MCs, but this show gives mostly equal screen time to the entire cast, which means there's not enough character development for anyone. So it all feels generic and I don't feel very invested in the characters or the story, especially since the outcome is obvious in the first episode. Overall, I don't think it is bad, but it would have been nice to get 6 or 8 episodes to tell a complete story that doesn't rush to the conclusion. But I'd happily watch a sequel to this.

I've loved Gameplay since Ingredients and I really liked Nammon in SOTUS S. So I feel bad saying anything bad but this no better than Even Sun, Check Out, Love Stage, Physical Therapy, Unforgotten Night and the other recent BL disasters. If this is really only 4 episodes, there's no time for it to improve and hard it's to see why they even bothered to make this.

I REALLY hope Gameplay stops taking these types of roles, it's not helping his career.
On Takara-kun & Amagi-kun Aug 26, 2022
This show is perfect example of why I rarely rate or give up on a show after the first episode. I didn't enjoy the 1st episode, but the 2nd one was delightful. This is the season of high school BLs and some of them are really good. Takara, Amagi and Amagi's friend are all adorable and I LOVE that their story/relationship development aren't dragging. I'm looking forward to the next episode.

I remember loving this series and now I can barely stay awake while watching it. I'm always sad when a show is about to come out and I see that there are 8 or less episodes. But then I watch something like this that’s lost the good will it build as it drags to the finish and I WISH it had ended sooner.

Shin, Asuka and Sakurako are absolutely wonderful and I want all 3 of them to have happy endings. But the adults are becoming increasingly unlikeable. As others have said, the writers dropped the ball. The classroom confession was just another example of the writers not doing right by their characters. Smh!

I think I am beginning to understand why UN appeals to the romantic in me so much. It's because Kim is such a…
I'm not sure if you're joking, but you just summed up one of the biggest problems with the series and others like it. Kim is a gay man and gay men aren't stand ins for women and shouldn't be depicted as stereotypical female characters. BL has always had elements of wish fulfillment for mostly straight female audiences. But at its best it tells stories of gay men, a group that is marginalized in the real world. And prior to the popularity of BL, they often didn't have their stories told in Asian shows/movies.

Also, if the writer made this story with an actress as Kim, I'm sure many people would call out how toxic and harmful the relationship between Kim and Kamol is. Putting a man in the role doesn't make the relationship dynamics romantic, but it does help normalize such relationships in BL.

I'm not trying to attack you or say that you shouldn't enjoy the series. But representation matters and gay men shouldn't be depicted as outdated female characters to make mostly female audiences happy. They deserve better.
