8.3 how?!?!?!! I know people always give mediocre kBLs a pass and say they're new to BL so it ok, but in what world does a Thai BL made by GMMTV have an excuse to be this below average???? Dunk and Joong are fine, but Dao and Khluen are extremely self-involved and AWFUL. After messing with the lives of all of their friends for a LONG time, now the writers expect us to happy because these two finally had a real conversation. Umm sure. I didn't watch Enchante, so for me this is easily the worst GMMTV BL of the year and almost as bad as My Gear and Your Gown!

Exactly. SK has been making BLs for more than 15 years. If someone new to BL hasn't seen them, that doesn't mean they don't exist. Strongberry has also been making good short films for a while, so it's hard for me to accept these excuses every time a poorly written BL comes out of SK.

I know some people give a pass to any and all KBLs, but for me this was a missed opportunity. Episode 6 managed to be boring and rushed at the same time. 6 episodes wasn't enough to tell a complete story and it's hard to accept labeling something BL when the BL aspects are only BARELY there until the VERY end. It's clickbate. Episode 4 was great because it focused on how stalking and homophobia real impact people. But the rest felt unearned and incomplete. I didn't hate the show, but I'd only recommend it to someone who has nothing better to do for 2 hours and just wants to fill the time.

It gets better every single week. I can't wait to find out how everything is connected. Usually hospital shows kinda bore me, but I'm really wondering what's gonna happen at the hospital next.

I'm so glad the show shows the seriousness of homophobia and stalking and shines a light on some shortcomings within Korean culture. It's easy to forget how conservative SK is when so many of their cultural exports are kpop, kdramas, manhwas and KBLs, but this show isn't sugarcoating anything. Being a vulnerable pretty girl or being an LGBTQ+ person are not perfect fairy tales. Idk if Ji Woo is gay but the fact that even the accusation that he and Ro A might be is causing this much contempt from the other students at the school is a necessary reminder that we still have a LONG way to go. I appreciate the show makers' willingness to focus on the difficulties many people face even though I know that with only 2 episodes left there will be a quick solution to these real-world problems.

Here's another KBL reminding me why I wish KBLs had longer run times. Wow episode 4 was tough and felt REALLY real. There's so much going on and I wish it could be given more time to develop, but either way the show is really good.

I agree with you. I went out of my way not to say anything negative about the show but there is plenty that could be said about the writing and stereotypical characters. I'm holding out hope that in the last episode Namning gets what she deserves. But I have no reason to think that Lukchup will ever be given any agency or stop relying on others to "protect" him.

I'm loving the fact that this show is building up to prove why villains need to be held accountable for their actions. Namning is EVIL and the whole group knows she's not going to stop until she is forced to stop. The writers aren't sugarcoating it and I can't wait for next week and then the finale where she finally gets what she deserves.

I wish other shows didn't just let characters like Namning get away with all the bad stuff they do, but I'm soooooo glad this show isn't doing that.

I agree. I wouldn't be surprised if they added that voiceover for the last few minutes recently when they noticed all the backlash the show has been getting. It was not connected to anyone's behavior throughout the rest of the series and felt out of place.

You're completely right that most BLs are fantasies that ignore real issues facing the LGBTQ+ community, which is not a good thing and a reminder that some shows like Not Me and Secret Crush On You should get LOTS of recognition for improving the genre and not ignoring the experiences of LGBTQ+ people. But for Cutie Pie, I'd rather it be ignored completely instead of having a few minutes of lip service to check the "we sorta care about LGBTQ+ rights" box. It all feels so fake and gross!

Everything about the last episode summed up the problems with the series. It was awkward and full of unearned moments. The few shout-outs to gay rights and marriage equality felt completely disingenuous and made my skin crawl. This show and these characters have shown nothing but privilege from start to finish and the hardships that real gay people face were ignored.

I could write a lot more but at this point I'm just glad it's over and not looking forward to more from any of the characters except Nuea and Syn. I like all of the actors though.

If you didn't like this show but enjoy BLs, please go watch Secret Crush On You. The episodes are free on youtube with subs. It doesn't start off strong but it is light years better than this trainwreck.

I'll ignore the fact that this is one of the lowest rated nearly perfect shows ever and just say thank you to everyone involved. Two couples who are deeply in love and perfectly matched, the best friend group I've ever seen on tv, suppotive family, a beautiful representation of a trans woman and a teased completely wondeful lesbian relationship (I cant wait for GAP), is why this completely broke the mold in the best ways possible.

This is as good as Bad Buddy and Not Me and shows like this are why BL fans should no longer sit back and accept any show with lazy writing and directing just because it is a BL. SCOY proves that it's possible to make an incredible BL series. I DEMAND A SEASON 2!!!! Not really, I'm just grateful that I didn't drop this and feel lucky to have seen all of these beautiful characters for 12 weeks.

Another reminder that actors with good chemistry aren't enough to make a good show. Without strong writing and directing you will still have a crap fest of contrived misunderstandings and boring relationships. It's time that New find another line of work because he can't direct!!

I like Dunk and Joong, but I dislike Dao and Khluen and their silly "relationship". Each side character besides Fah is just there to either be in love with Dao or talk with Klhuen or Dao about whatever. I don't care about any of them. If I've been given almost no reason to understand a character's motivations, it's very hard for me to like or understand them and Khluen's unwillingness to speak or even be present in any scene makes him extremely boring and unrelatable. But Dao is no better, I get whiplash with his constantly changing emotions and outbursts. At this point I don't care that KhluenDao will end up together, they can run off together and finally stop leading people on and making every situation about themselves and their "relationship".

I think when GMMTV wants to they can make great shows, but even though Bay Buddy and Not Me exist, there's still plenty of crap that they put every year. And this show is not good at all. Kinda wondering if they pay someone to inflate their ratings because 8.3 is bullcrap!

Some of us have been saying it all along. Diao and Kuea were both groomed and it's gross. Arranged marriages for kids are still are real and harmful, but the writer glorified it and added softcore porn to distract BL fans. But as it's gone on audiences are starting to see what's really going on in the story. No wonder many people aren't enjoying the series anymore.
