I don't know if it's just me, but I'm liking the fact that not every single time the FL got a crisis, the ML suddenly arrives to save her. Her growth is also regardless if the ML is there or not. The ML is a healthy addition to her life, but not everything revolves around him.

As I saw Episode 15,16,17, for example when a colleague got in an argument, she was quick on the uptake and quick on the lesson she needed to learn on her own. She just related it to the ML who sensed her growth and encouraged her. I was actually expecting the ML to suddenly arrive at the scene like most romance themes stories do, lmao but surprisingly he wasn't even aware of the event until the FL told him. He also didn't overreact and praised her for her own actions. I like that the FL is growing on her own.

The same could be said for what happened in Episode 17 when the SML showed up. The ML did not show up to save the day but he was there (in the phone case, a forest with the sun shining, and the message). The FL handled her emotions and situations well and we were also shown that she's not alone because Jiang Rui is with her who will protect her. I love their dynamics. I also want a lil bro like that.

I'm understanding now that we're seeing the life of the FL and the ML is a main character but a supporting character in the FL's life making her shine more and grow as she should individually. The FL is also a good influence on the ML letting him rest and take the time to enjoy life. They really suit each other.

I'm just annoyed the SML keeps showing up with his puppy wet in the rain look.

It's so sad how her so called friends tried to dim her light. The other 2 are fine, but Ye Rong and Siliang were definitely fake friends. Siliang is a bit better than Ye Rong, but only a little.

Worst of all, he could have been a good character. If he managed his insecurities well, if he communicated well, if he knew how to be mature. Because who doesn't love an underdog working hard and rising from ashes? He already has the handsomeness, the puppy downtrodden eyes you want to route for, the awesome brains and the hardworking trait. Yet when he opens his mouth its like trash has filled it uncollected by the garbage collector for years. I can think of similar state ML to him. Too bad he wasn't cut out to be one. (Recently, Jin Zhao from Speed and Love, Li Wu from Sniper Butterfly[haven't finished yet lmao], Duan Ja Xiu from Hidden Love. I don't watch a lot of modern C-Dramas so these are the ones I can think of at the top of my head.)

That line made me fume so bad! It was crazy he was already judging her without knowing anything about her. He might be insecure about his status compared to her, but he could always not be biased and prejudiced against her especially she hasn't done anything to brag about her situation. Honestly, his whole personality is just bad. Nothing can be excused. He feels like the victim as you said enforcing his own tragedy over a whole lot of nothing. It's so unfortunate Xiguang couldn't get over him so easily when she already sees who he is. I hope he suffers more since he seems to like it.

At this point, I can only see it as trauma. It's unforgettable because that's the first time she felt like she loved someone yet that person made her feel like she wasn't enough.

Definitely a strong crush. She didn't know much about him, just blinded by the idea of him. He's handsome, has good grades, academically strong, works hard. All things other people also know of him. But she didn't know him on a deeper level.

I really don't get where he gets all the audacity from. He never made an effort for the fl. Yet he expects her to wait for him when he didn't communicate anything to her? Sure he might be misled by Ye Rong at some point but if he truly liked the fl he'd try to understand her first before making any decisions. It's fine if there's miscommunication at least there is communication that happened. But what did he do? Nothing! Not a hi, not a hello. He literally just stayed silent and let the fl fight all the battles. He's the root cause of his own misfortune. The audacity of this manchild. His status is no excuse. He is just a horrible person wallowing in his own self-pity. Istg he makes my blood boil.

That's also true. In the end the problem is also him. Ye Rong just added more. He didn't even grow up even and expected the fl to wait for him without telling her anything. Like bruh, she's not a mindreader. Also his words are just no-no

Ye Rong is the curse I swear. Zhuang Xu wouldn't be that bad if Ye Rong wasn't around. But if he's always insecure about his status even without Ye Rong, they wouldn't last long either. Still, I'm glad he's cut off Ye Rong. I hope its for good.

So it has been found out that Ye Rong is the curse of Zhuang Xu's life. She's so manipulative. She's manipulating Zhuang Xu and his brother and the narrative to suit her and make Xiguang a villain. I now understand Zhuang Xu's actions a bit but it doesn't excuse him. What he did to Xiguang is as he said to her "playing two sides". He's bad but Ye Rong is worse. He and Xiguang weren't meant to be but he'll be happier away from Ye Rong as well.

Just starting this drama. It's actually interesting! I usually zone out when it comes to modern C-dramas so I rarely watch.

Also, Lin Sui is everywhere it's hilarious. I'm glad he's become a friend in their life though albeit becoming the steve in the relationship along with San lai lmao!

Oh yeah, so in the drama it was shown he had bought two places, his apartment and the old house. Would have been nice if they lived back there too or shown us a clip. In the novel he still had two places, the apartment he has now and another apartment for his business trips.

There are a lot of cuts in the last few episodes, they could have easily made this 32 episodes. Maybe censorship? But honestly, at this point its minor gripes for me, I am happy with the overall drama. They gave a good adaptation I still feel like crying. Probably one of the most heartwarming drama for this year. 🥹

I'm also confused at that part. If we based it from the novel, that apartment is indeed Jin Zhao's. He worked his butt off for the past six years. Then he has another apartment somewhere where he frequents his business trip whom he neighbors with Sanlai. That apartment was something he bought when was first starting out. He ended up keeping it because he frequents there and something about apartment pricing not really moving up so there was no point selling it.

As far as I know, drama wise, they only showed one apartment and I don't suddenly get why they said it belonged to Lin Sui. Maybe he bought it from Lin Sui originally? I need to go back to that but there were quite a few inconsistencies at the end of the drama though minor details. If they don't make sense, just don't acknowledge them lmao.
