I really love this show and watched the first episode a really long time ago so ill try to be a bit unbiased and remember
I think ep 1 was a bit slow as they were setting up the leads dynamic and their worlds but I felt their sexual tension from the beginning. Subsequent episodes do get exponentially better so stick with it till the end of ep 3. If it still doesn’t interest you. Drop and try something else :)

Of course I definitely agree that even one season of good content is better than none. I just don’t want to fall too deep until I know I’ll get a complete story. Incomplete endings and the crazy long waits to no avail is really too much to handle. I too had a crazy whiplash from Addicted all those years ago 😭
I really wanted to love this more than I actually did but couldnt. The story is good and the actors and their chemistry even better but i think because I knew the story was gonna be chopped and left severely incomplete by the end, so I just didn't let myself fall in love with them too much. CBLs have left us hanging way too often and honestly that lack of closure for months hurts.
Even now s2 is not confirmed and even if and when it is, there is no guarantee until it actually airs and dunno how long that will take.
I dont mind shows being split into seasons but I liked it the way We Best Love did it. They planned it from the beginning and s1 ended with a release date for s2 which was just 2 months later!
That being said their finale kiss was really satisfying and so full of love and longing.❤️Really hope to see a s2 and let myself fall in love deeper but until then I'm gonna protect my heart 😮💨
Wow the trailer did not hold back and I’m here for it 😍🤭 I thought the OG Lu feng was too much in the movie but the drama version is really going all out!

The only thing that gives me hope is that they did finish filming and their concert promotions have been in full swing so there shouldn’t be any issues but they seriously talk about anything and everything BUT the special like why 🥲 I hope I can just forget about it and one day just wake up to its release 😂

In other people's experiences, is a series concert the last of its promotions? So can we expect the special before their concert on Feb 28 or thats not usually the case and the special could easily come post their concert weekend as well?
There are some pretty polarizing views on this show so far, so I wanted to share my honest impression as well. This isn’t to invalidate anyone’s preferences at all—it’s just a fun little analysis from my side :)
When the trailer dropped, I was beyond excited that the Addicted second CP was getting a spin-off and that they somehow got the OG cast back. I’d already seen Lin Feng Song in a bunch of short dramas and really liked him in them so that was a plus!
That being said, the show itself isn’t really making me feel much in terms of chemistry, connection, warmth, or even the storyline. It’s not a budget issue or an acting issue—the leads are great. For me, the problem is more with the writing and directing. There isn’t a strong emotional arc, and I don’t really feel the inner worlds of You Qi and Yang Meng enough to connect with what they’re feeling.
I honestly don’t know what either of them feels for the other. There’s no clear emotional baseline from the high school days—like yes, YM liked YQ, but what did YQ feel? Was YM just a friend? Did he not notice him that way, or did he like him even a little? And what does YQ feel now? Why was he so happy to see him again on that island? We don’t get enough emotional POVs, so it feels very outside-looking-in, which is why a lot of moments don’t really land.
Some scenes here and there do work and are kinda funny but still YQ’s actions toward YM feel unanchored and confusing. I wouldn’t overthink this if it were episode 1, but we’re already a third of the way through so it feels valid enough to form an opinion so far.
And that second CP… girl, what? lol. I don’t really feel anything from them yet, though the hint at the end of episode 4 that they might’ve known each other before did get me slightly interested.
Overall, the leads and their characters are very likable, the acting is good, and the location and look of the show are nice. For me, it’s the emotional buildup and the way the story is written and directed where the connection is lacking. I’ll still wait for this weekend’s episodes and hope the next few connect better with me :)
