Yes, it will be painful to watch for one of the MLs. Its like, as a viewer you can see what he's done for her, and how he never lets her know. She can't love him if she doesn't know him, right? It's one of those stories. Very well done, but super painful for him and the audience.

VERY OPEN to interpretation. Is it still your soulmate if you never knew how the other person felt? Its all the "could've been" and "only if" for one of them. He went out of his way so she would never know. It is very painful to watch.
The one she chose, she loves, and she trusts, and is her perfect partner, and he loves her back in the same way. This one is her happy love story, her happily ever after.

Oh God, they are all handsome. I went through all the pain. Its a reverse harem for me, I wanted them all, but the FL only chose one and did not really know of the love from the others.

I don't see it as reverse harem since she only dates and marry 1 guy, and the other ones are loving her in different ways (brother/buddy/rival-soulmate), and it was about the FL's journey. It's not an easy watch!! Very angsty and tears everywhere. I love that stuff, but I got emotionally wrecked. I am watching Shen Li again to cleanse my mind haha

I'm backkkkkkkkk, my lovely community page! I was knee-deep in toxic pages recently trying to find something to watch, and had to take a break from all the fighting and negativity.... LYF2 did not have an ending like TLOSL, so this remains my top drama of all time.

When I first watched it, I hadn't read the novel, so it hit me like those white van of deaths in kdramas.

I'm actually not a ship of any couple, and I like all the characters alone equally. I understand all of them, and I do think Xiangliu has the greatest magnetic appeal. Tushan Jing is what Tong Hua wrote him to be, and maybe he's not for everyone, but he seems to work with Xiao Yao.

Truthfully, to be honest with you, I have the same psychological issues as Xiao Yao (avoidance, bad family past), and I had "live only for today" crazy kind of love that caused the most painful heartbreaks. Eventually... I met my own Shiqi. He may be safe, boring, but the love is true and stable and I've never been happier. Tong Hua wrote so many different types of men in her story, and look at how popular and appealing they are, to different people.

Like whoever you like, they're all fictional anyway. In our real lives, lets all choose to our heart's content for ourselves, just like Xiao Yao did.
Maybe I'm getting too old and I rant like a old woman (you all seem pretty young, so it must be true lol).

Really loved this drama! Well acted, great storyline, and very touching story.
