It’s sad how some aren’t able to appreciate the way the story is crafted and how it’s more than just “finding the serial killer”…those that aren’t able to comprehend the poetic value of this art just wouldn’t be able to see this masterpiece for what it truly is. I’m sad. The very reason why I was apprehensive about this going global (but I am super happy nonetheless) would be because this quality is not for everyone, all the more because some would be watching this without the right lens…but I’m not here to decide for you guys and you have your own preferences, still glad you gave this drama a chance, may you not stop others from also giving it a chance just because of your preference.
I completely disagree. I think this is slow for all the wrong reasons. They make the mystery too obvious then…
I think this highly depends on where you’re focusing, this is a psychological thriller not a crime thriller so maybe your definition of suspense may be different from the drama’s definition of suspense?
This drama tackles not solely about crimes and suspects, it’s focus is more on the state of people around that crime, the people left behind, how they deal with grief, how they relate with other people, how their decisions will be - their psychological state and how they deal with incredulous situations they weren’t ready for. You may want to try and watch with a different lens as watching with different expectation will hugely affect your viewing experience :)
Though I like it but something should have done better. The ending was rush, no explaination of how Ha Sun survived.…
The reason why I still found the ending beautiful was because I’ve aways thought of it as a tragedy...the end scene was shown to be in a dream-like state...I envisioned the queen dying and Ha Seon waiting for her on the other side...otherwise, it would’ve been way too random of a reunion in a place they don’t have any connection with.
This was amazing. I cried my heart and eyes out. The way they laid the foundation of Prince Gwanghae’s character was brilliant, along with the natural flow of events and his relationship with his key subjects especially To-woo, just such an endearing story. I loved every bit of it!
I tried to watch this drama but got bored half way into the second episode
That’s sad, we all have preferences but this drama is still the masterpiece that it is. You might want to reassess what your expectations of what this drama is all about. Since having different expectations will majorly affect your viewing experience. If you don’t like slow burn in general, then you might not have appreciated this drama simply because it’s just not your cup of tea. Nonetheless, thanks for giving it a try! This drama deserves at least that:3
I need help guys. Started this drama today due to all of the good reviews I see here. I am on ep 5 and I am still…
This actually hugely depends a lot on your perspective as to what the drama was all about. Nonetheless, we all have our own preferences :) if you could, reassess if your expectations actually matches what this drama is all about, a lot of times it’s because people expect this to be a crime thriller that’s why they say it’s dull, but if you view it knowing it’s a psychological thriller then everything would make sense since the narrative of this drama fits the genre perfectly. If you generally don’t like slow burn, then you really need to manage your expectations while watching.
Watching the drama while having different expectations from what it really is, will majorly affect your viewing experience. Since this drama isn’t focusing on “catching” the serial killer or knowing the “motive” of the killer bcs it is very clear that the drama doesn’t want us to sympathize with a killer...it actually focuses on the people left behind and the grey area of choices people are given when faced with incredulous situations - and outcome of even the most simple decisions one would make whether it be for others’ or for one’s own gain. That’s what sets this drama apart for me, aside from the depth of characterization and how they portray humanity or lack thereof.
I was planning on watching something light and slice of life after finishing this (I watched mouse before this,…
I totally get you. It’s been over a month since Beyond Evil ended and I still couldn’t find myself watching other dramas...tried but failed multiple times...I’m just waiting for Beyond Evil to lose its grip which I may estimate as...never.

I loved this drama so much at the beginning ,, it was so exciting and really thrilling not knowing who is the…

Beyond Evil - congratulations. A smartly written well acted drama. The only downside is you get used to this level…
I agree with “it spoiled me from enjoying other dramas” I had always been picky with shows I watch nonetheless I still watch dramas, but Beyond Evil placed the bar too high that I am now unable to enjoy other dramas...I am now on hiatus lololol
