I to started this for Shin. She is near the top on my favorite actress list. Unfortunately for her, she is the only actor on this show. The story is weak then toss in a bucket of other problems and poof! Unwatchable. The cast from top to bottom is not good. Bad writing, bad directing (timing bad), and poor acting. Don't know if it was Lee, bad acting or if it was just a super crap role - I ff thru all his scenes. Anyway, can't believe I dropped a Shin Se Kyung show. Rate it a weak 6.
Fast to watch. Easy binge. As good as My Husband Got Family, even a touch better. WARNING! Spoiled brat overload will drive you nuts. But it is supposed to. Great cast. All cept Julien Kang, only because it felt clunky to me, nut I am sure he got it right. Hwang Jung Eum wins my favorite role award. So beautiful and hopeful for a great life. But so dimwitted and pitiful. I don't mean that as a diss. Jung Eum is perfect in her part. My empathy for her is over whelming at times. She had me teary eyed a lot. I love her and put her at #13 on my favorites list. But the whole show is littered with humor, drama, laughs, anger.... It's no joke. The ending is a whopper. Did not see it coming at all. It flips normal last scene the big happy to end a really sad last episode. The last scene is just shock. Highly recommend. I give it a solid 9.

Finished. Good show. Probably a great show for a specific kdrama fan. Felt like I was in London returning to Harrods. But when I entered, I was in Walmart. Good cast. Seemed they were being directed into a one mood role. The show was mostly one gear, depressed. Sul is the role I connected with most. I cried for her when....(Would be spoiler). Princess Min Hwa is the best story. I ff thru bunches of stuff. Lots of the first 6 episodes, and much to the end. The kids all were spot on. I am rating at a 7.5 Just didn't connect with me.
Everything you want from our beloved k-drama. Except thick romance (which I don't want). Romance is here plenty. Just a slow burn. Lee and Cha are great together. Korean Odyssey, eight years after this and they are still hot together. Good all around. No dead time or filler. Recommend. I rate a solid 8.5
Solid show. Great cast, good acting, directing good (except force-on-force combat bad), writing so so. Qu Man Ting is the funniest, sadist, and most engaging role. Wu is spectacular. I generally do not like xdresser shows. Seem to wind up with awkward BL. Girls dressing like dudes to hide id, wind up with dudes falling for them. Awkward. This show not. Xie Xiang dresses like a dude, but the romance doesn't break out till the love boy (Gu) knows Xie is a she. Bai Lu is way too beautiful to pass the looks test. But that don't get in the way of the story. It adds a lot to the Gu and Xie love story. Which is 10s all the way. Music is good including the backdrop music. The writing goes clunk too often. Too many blank pages. The last episode is a crapper. Much of the last 4 episodes are a great cast looking for a writer/dialog. Highly recommend. For me it got stuck at 8 rating cause of gaps in the writing/dialog.
This show is good. Production, cast, acting, good. Some really good fight scenes. Some of the character's story lines are really engaging. Emotional drama, in a couple places. The only episode I got teary-eyed was the last episode. The subject matter of great Joseon drama and political struggles is not unique. However, this is the first I've seen about this topic, start of Korean independent language. Maybe this is why with all the great working parts (actors/production/directing) it gets boring for episodes. It is worth a watch. Some of my favorite actresses/actors appear. Much better show, imo, at 16-18 episodes. I confess there are many parts I am lost on which faction is doing what and who is who.
Good movie. Tag should include tragic love story and sad. The movie is a love story. The impossible love that is just so painful. Minnie really is great in this role. Oab as the hopeless love interest carries the desperation thru the movie. All the main's nailed it. The support cast is right on target. Some horror, fantasy, and bit of blood and guts. Guts being a major visual, Krasue - just an upper torso with the guts hanging as it floats around (asian lore). This movie is so Thai special. I just don't see this coming off right from any other studios. I am coming in at a solid 8. Recommend.
Man this is gonna hurt. Oh Yeon Seo is my favorite, the only reason I watch this show. I am downgrading from 8.5 to 8. Like this: (imo and unverified percentages) 1. ML Seo - 50% just goofy, 40% working the job (good) 10% poor drama. He gets a big dose of bad directing. 2. FL Oh - 30% not there, 15% screen filler/background, 25% dazed and confused, 15% working the job (good), 10% super cop, 5% as love interest (okay). Her on screen role is random. I didn't get a sense of who she really was. Her part is completely throttled. Bad directing/writing going around. 3. FL Kang - Straight forward, solid role. Kang delivers a consistent character and is credible. 4. ML Kwak - he is not this bad of an actor. I like him in other shows. He is given a really bad script and it feels like a heavy dose of directing. Kwak is not allowed to just act. Of the 4 leads - Kang gets my vote for most credible performance. Without Oh in this show I would not have watched it a second time. Oh and her mom (rl) have consulted with shaman about life issues. So that is a fit. Concept seems good. I give credit to sad writing and heavy-handed directing for my disappoint.
Zhang Hui Wen is a support role. Disappointed. I stopped skipping scenes after the priest was gone. Production is the best part of this show. Wu Hao Chen delivers the best performance. Wu delivers the conflicted role of Xioa thru the entire series. Most of the cast and the performances are good. Some the episodes get stuck in mini loops. Kinda draggy. The series really comes together around ep. 30 to about 38, then some of that draggy stuff. Ep. 42-50 is when the show is at its best. Last ep. just kinda lays on the floor. Overall worth a watch. However, I disagree with the rating. 8.6 too high. Maybe an 8, but I am coming in at 7.5. I also have complete opposite opinion of music. Opening music and background music alright. Nothing special. The song used to close out episodes is horrifying. Loney cat meets dying, screaming cat.
The circumstances of the corruption in any gambling sport don't surprise me. Who is involved in the corruption from top to bottom don't surprise me. What does surprise me is how Thai people respond to how the corruption effects the country. This series holds nothing back. Bad guys are bad guys and so many others knowingly just have to survive around the corruption. There are no heroes here. The cast is great, and I really poured out empathy for the characters portrayed in the dramatizations. This show has a very, very sad twist for an ending. The production value, directing, and the acting are top notch. Using just 4 episodes was a perfect count. The facts of the events that inspired this show (wait for the credits) are sad also. I am at a solid 8.5. Highly recommend.
Oh, I'm here to cry foul. Show is good enough to watch. Good production. I started this to watch Zhang Hui Wen. Episode 20. She is not a main. Minor support role. 5 mins here, 5 mins there. One-line scenes, no line scenes. And a couple of actual conversations for a couple minutes. False advertising on a criminal level. I am skipping the scenes with the "priest". Don't like the character, the looks, nor the performance. Otherwise, I'll finish it. Mostly because of the production value, really good.
Oh! Underrated. I have seen Lee Sang Hee in many shows as support role. Always liked her acting so I just wanted to watch her as a main. She nailed it. Great job. The story is really good. All about a shy love, that just happens to be between two ladies. Lee as Yoon Joo really captured the fear of commitment. When she finally embraces her feelings, the fear of rejection builds. I was tense from the moment of the first night Yoon Joo and Ji Soo stayed together to the very last second of the movie. Lee really drew me into her character. The ending is hmmm, not quite done yet? You'll have to decide. For me I wanted a little more... Otherwise good movie. Solid 8. Recommend
