No consent is a problem. While it is fiction, it's not OK to just romaticise it. Love by Chance also had a scene…
LBC is indeed overrated. I don't hate it, but it's definitely far from being perfect. I've always been mad at P'New for incorporating so many books and creating a series with too many couples. Had he only focused on AePete and TinCan, season 1 would have been flawless and complete. We wouldn't have needed a (crappy, from what I've read online) season 2 and we wouldn't have had to experience KlaNo and TumTar's problematic storylines. Because if it's true that Kengkla and Techno's relationship is horrific from beginning to end, Tum and Tar's is also not okay (from a western point of view, at least): in the series they are step-brothers, but in the novel they are real brothers!
I waited a whole day to watch this because the subs aren't out yet on viki. Why can't viki hire a professional…
God, you have a point. I guess you need to pay because Viki buys the licence to put the series on its website, but the translations are all made by volunteers who work for them for free and at their own pace, so... is it really that different from watching a pirated video subtitled by the fans of the show?
Not everything has to be understood. The production team just wants to share their work with the world. And I…
Yes, there are a lot of long commercials on MDL categorized as specials or even dramas. Some examples are "My Baby Bright", "Cornetto Love Expert" or "My Secret Friend". Personally, I think that listing a school project that stars real actors and could actually become a drama in the future is still acceptable, but advertisements are a bit too much. I also find the presence of variety shows very unnecessary. "Produce 101", "BTS: Bon Voyage", kpop live concerts... why would you add those to your watchlist? At least we have custom lists and we can divide our contests with those.
Oh my goodness, this totally could have been like an alternate version of GMA! Neab and Nami is like Love, Praew…
I know, right? That's what I've written in my recommendation. I thought I was the only one who had noticed the similarities between this project and GMA! It was a nice watch, though ^^

I know, right? I remember I was so pissed because of how unfair the whole situation was. If you ask me, I'd say the answer is laziness. No matter how uninformed or inexperienced you are, it's not difficult to take a moment, do a little research and see if the series has been released officially somewhere. You should be able to find the official links the same way you found out about the series itself. There are no excuses here. Laziness and impatience aren't acceptable justifications, especially when a series is already being distributed for free.
I kinda like it. I'm more invested in Jj's and Fiat's scenes though. I hope they're the second lead couple.
I don't know if this can be considered a spoiler (or if you want to know it), but judging from the trailer and the promotional pictures, it seems Fiat has been paired with Folk.

Unfortunately it's true. That's what happened with My Engineer. In the end they had to upload everything on Youtube, leaving everyone in shock. BTW, those pirates' logic doesn't make much sense to me. Apart from the fact that it's morally deplorable, it's also a stupid move. You will have to wait a week for the next episodes anyway and you will be stuck with a lower-quality material until the end of the series. Guys, DON'T DO IT, please. Watch these dramas from the official sources and support the people who work so hard behind and in front of the camera.

"Sometimes the fact that I'm binge watching a drama makes me get even more attached to the characters!": this is so true! It actually makes sense: when you binge-watch a drama, you let your emotions bottle up inside you because you never really take a break to absorb them properly, so your feelings and thoughts pile up and get amplified. That's why you get invested so much, both in the characters and the story. But if you think about it, even in real life it's more difficult to establish a connection with someone you only see once a week for a short amount of time. You will always feel a bit distant and awkward when you meet up.
I mean it! I definitely look forward to your future articles ^^
Dramas easily become an obsession for me, especially when I get attached to the characters and emotionally invested in the story. That's why watching an ongoing series is the worst punishment I could ever inflict on myself. A torture indeed.
By the way, great article. One of the best I've read on MDL. Well-thought-out, well-written, relatable.
I think some of you forget that this is SPECIAL EPISODES and NOT season 2. This series was meant to be fun entertainment…
You said it! Thank you so much. Really, people don't know how to be happy, they always need to complain about something. GMMTV has learnt from its mistakes and it's now giving us what the season finale of "2gether" couldn't deliver. These special episodes are very good and the fact that most of the viewers here can't see that because of their biases is so unfair.
Sarawat and Tine have such a healthy and admirable relationship, the best one I've ever seen in a BL. They COMMUNICATE -- which is so important because 80% of the misunderstandings and conflicts in a couple usually come from the lack of communication -- and they are mature enough not to let their personal problems affect their relationship. They respect their loved one, they care for and take care of each other. Sarawat is such a supportive boyfriend and Tine is learning everyday how to be a better partner. They love each other, they are confident of their own and their lover's feelings and they want to spend the rest of their lives together. Watching them in a daily setting is beautiful. I'm loving these special episodes so much!

While I admit that it may have sounded like I was associating death to realism (especially since a lot of people do that when it comes to gay-themed works; and sometimes they are right -- e.g. in Brokeback Mountain -- sometimes they are not), I assure you that it wasn't my intention. I totally agree with you when you say that a happy ending can be more realistic than a tragic one and realism isn't directly proportional to how dramatic the events in a drama are. I naively used the word "realism" as an antonym of "fantasy" and that was a mistake. What I wanted to say is simply that in the romantic fantasies of BL fans there isn't death -- not that death automatically makes a drama realistic.
These production companies will never learn. They could have had a big hit on their hands if they'd gauged their…
Must agree. Most people watch BL dramas because they are fluffy and lighthearted and the last thing they want and expect is a sad or tragic ending. The fact that BLs are based on the viewers' romantic fantasies already tells you everything you need to know: FANTASY, not reality. Most viewers could care less about how "realistic" a BL is; they only want a beautiful happy ending with their favourites forever together. Really, it looks like these companies don't know their viewers and what their business is about.
