It was necessary to create some kind of scene like that, to keep him broke :) also it showcases he is quite dumb and under her slipper.... which adds to the char. growth... eventually he becomes independent
Written after ep 8: there is character growth, towards the very very end. I understand better some things now so I will not spill the beans. I do not want trolls to ruin it..... The drama is a cheesy cartoon but it has some super deep messages - including the "you need more than just a heart, you need cash too" lol Just kidding.

i am not sure that BL dramas are for female audience - why would straight women watch two (or more) guys in love... ? clariification: I am not sure how you misunderstood me, but I counted BL dramas as "male centered" . Of course BL dramas are mostly targeted for that audience.
This drama seems to attract military types, who want to see only men acting and doing "manly things" like.... what we saw in first 2 episodes.
If women did not show up until ep 3.... sorry but i trust what i see, not what some scompi says :) As for that "talking about other things and not men" - well ... that is one small tiny test out of a big topic... Women can be made super small, insignificant and very stupid stereotypical even if they talk about topics other than men LOL Obviously you are not aware of that? I can rattle off fast some examples - e.g. women who talk about makeup, or neighbor gossip, or kids, or totally blunder through some more heady topic like politics mathematics or education, or just bitch around, or fight with each other, talk badly about each other, etc etc etc etc.... Ah.... so many ways to put women down.... ... Also, indirectly - women showed preening to make themselves more desirable, etc.
It is not a problem to see a drama like MIK bc these military-like environment and such other ones - like physical laborers or thugs stealing ocean-floor pottery - are male dominated indeed. The problem imo is that we have a barrage of such dramas, and often with bleak villainish favor, from this particular studio . Why?

well this is a cartoon, not a kdrama ;) and it is made to showcase Junho and make him look like a superhero.... and.... for a change... the ML is dumb, naive, greedy and selfish.... under the slipper....still like that In ep 5 and there are only 8 episodes. His girlfriend is no better... very materialistic... at least smart... and they do not communicate!!!!!! they are very materialistic brain dead consumers, a match made in hell..... ok by ep 6 we see he is finally working for the good but still.... this is interesting .... like superman... a very ordinary mediocre person has superpowers..
so i wonder .. what am i watching actually... ??. there is no redemption arc here, no character growth..... it is ... well... very .... strange. What kind of values is this trying to promote and which audience is it targeting?

Exactly, your brain is off and you are unwilling to turn it on. you are not really watching this drama. perhaps find a drama that does not require turning the brain on and then you might be a lot happier
