Those "insignificant" people created and run KCIA, make money by helping gangs sell crystal meth, gave free rein to Mr. Hwang who is a monster worthy of "most evil" badge, etc etc

For example: Those Japanese politicians were showed as total doozies... didn't you find that rather strange? did you ever think that the mighty Japanese - ... super powerful big companies...... yakuza .... etc - very smart and very cunning strategists ppl - would behave so doozey clueless? Is this making fun of corruption and putting puppets as political leaders... ?
and that is how Koreans made fun of Japanese, who colonized and terrorized Korea for a veeeeery long time...

SO YOU NEED TO CAREFULLY WATCH. THink about it as if you are watching a sci fi movie - verything is new and rather strange, and you try to figure out what is going on.... :)

young, uneducated, impatient, dumb, ... etc ... tend to think they know it all and determine what is important and what isn't.... but ... then a lot is missed.

Try to follow what is presented as it speaks volumes about time and place that you and I did not experience. I dont know how old you are and where you lived, but now we are given a chance to understand something about 1970s in Korea. Is it historically accurate? Some of it must be. Some of it probably is not :) The winner writes the history :) Another food for thought - if it existed back then... it must exist now too ....... ? for example..... meth in common prescription stimulant Adderall... "A New York Times story published in 2016 referred to millennials as “Generation Adderall,” for liberal use of the drug in young adults, with or without a prescription". Now is year 2025.... , ppl in the USA cook crystal meth at home and there is an epidemic of it.... so... where is this going....

But you dont have to think about any of this. In fact, if you consider those men "insignificant" you have automatically eliminated all thoughts about voting, governance, society, drug epidemics, thugs, corruption, etc etc etc AND YOU CAN SLEEP SOUNDLY AT NIGHT WITHOUT ANY WORRY ... until.... it hits you in your personal life.

Those dudes rake so much money bc ppl buy drugs... I have not met one american who has never tried drugs... Studies show that about 50% of usa population has lifetime use of illicit drugs

Then, those huge amounts of money from drug sales have to be laundered.... These days, often by building, usually homeowners' associations and condominium buildings, and buying them... where do you get such large amounts to buy? by corrupt lawyers and judges, who perform rigged lawsuits and condemn innocent ppl to lose their property in non judicial and judicial foreclosures... there is an EPIDEMIC of rigged non-judicial and judicial foreclosures in the USA.... The USA is living in times quite similar to the opium era of old China...

So my dear... yeah you can ignore all those "insigniicant men" arguing .... but ..... if those politicians got all that money from selling drugs together with gangsters, and secured a private army that keeps them in power by terrorizing the citizens, well then...... your ignorance is likely going to come back and bite your sweet as$... sooner or later

This is a psychological drama so those men arguing is important to see who they are and where they are "going" - ie their character and dreams and circumstances... and this is also a historical political drama.... ... so ... if you are not into that kind of stuff.... then...

Just say it - you want a technical spy show. For whatever reason, that's what you want.

So maybe this drama is not it for you. It is not a technical spy drama. It is more focused on PEOPLE and their LIVES and EMOTIONS, rather than their spy life.... and most of them are NOT spies anyways...

This drama is not really about spies... most characters are just thugs.... fishing in the murky waters trying to make big money... and some happen to work for the government LOL and then we have the prosecutor aka police trying to catch them... not really a spy plot...

Perhaps you were happier watching Tempest, it had more technical frills / spy plots and LOTS of spies.... .

I am not even sure which other drama is the technical stuff you want to see... Sorry. I am not into what you want to watch so I cannot provide any suggestions

Casablanca includes a love story, several spy stories, etc. The French captain was a spy and resistance helper. Ingrid Bergman's man was the resistance leader. Boogie turned a resistance helper.

THERE ARE SPY STORIES IN MANY FLAVORS :) not only some kind of action thriller.

This is one of my favorite movies, a spy comedy: The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared 2016 Swedish movie ... and then a sequel LOL

kdrama The Spies Who Loved Me is a spy rom com thriller and it is super fun, super sad, super creepy, and yeah has some technical spy stuff, and has a happy ending with more spy stuff :) Naive FL turns into a spy LOL

I love Hong Kong actor/film maker Stephen Chow movies... There is a spy comedy kung fu Asian James Bond political satire and overal satire LOL movie From Beijing with Love .. lol it is ... well.. all his movies are amazing ... a total fun chaos, rough humor, and historically and culturally and technically accurate ... Just watch and see LOL "A Chinese spy who's been out of service for ten years whilst making a living as a butcher is sent to Hong Kong to locate a stolen Tyrannosaurus rex skull." It is really a movie about a nuclear bomb head or something like that ... But you cannot say it aloud in Hong Kong LOL

I also want more light - so that we can see the actors facial expressions

but we all go through times like these .... we all go through family problems... slumps... problems ... and also new beginnings... so we can relate to all of this drama...

and this drama provides some nice positive twists and is really pro-living and pro-growth and happiness... it is overall positive

Dad is growing fast.... luckily he found that super nice woman.... And FL is growing fast luckily she found that super nice guy - immature but still, good partner material.... So it is educational ..

I wish the drama was filmed more brightly there are too many scenes that are waaay too dark, literally dark lol

It has to go down badly since she is super selfish and immature. She will have to learn to love - Daniel and all - or ... stay alone

why would they release it all at once? it doesnt make any business sense. You want them to release all 6 episodes and then..... what? NOTHING for the next 6 weeks until the next show??? Or the next show next week....??? that means all shows would be really cheap

By releasing it slowly, they pump up the hype and prolong the cash cow milking out , keeping it pressed to our faces longer

and then they have the time to make and release the next show 6 weeks later
