and the bs of passion as violence... it is ... ill. The toxicity of it ruins the drama. It turns it into .... cheap sleazy violent porn. It would be much more healing to show healthy love as something more common in the BL world - well I hope it is possible

This drama is a good drama as is, minus the BL tropes, so I am glad BL genre is moving into wider topics of real life, as it is supposed to be, since BL happens in the context of real life, not an isolated planet

Queen's House daily was pretty good after say ep 25
Pearl in Red is a very raw soap (everyone is a serial killer or a victim of those serial killers seeking revenge) but it has some amazing deep dialogues and act

And yeah most dailies are quite dumbed down

My mother was in hospital so I was offline ... and managed to catch up with important dramas... and kept this one on the back burner bc, just before I disappeared, ML and FL broke up bc her grandma and mom and his stepmom hated the idea ... That sexism of female kids just quitting bc someone older told them to - wow that is so cheap. I ain't watching that for more than 1-2 episodes.

So someone here said there is enough other plot so I came back here to watch starting from ep 34... well that was a LIE.
I wanted to check it out and also to watch Uncle, bc that is a master actor and I really want to see all his acting tricks :) but I am wondering if it is worth it... I might have to fast forward just to his scenes... bc .. the rest... is so trashy

and OMG WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! this drama has turned into a sh.t show entirely dedicated to both families hating each other. 97% of the plot is about that - hate, and these meek and weak "women" just breaking up bc someone told them to. By mistake I started watching ep 38 instead of 35 and that was still the plot.

All characters are super toxic pathetic, there is nobody smart - except Uncle and maybe Huyn Bin. So soapy and stupid. I think I am dropping this drama. Sorry even watching the Uncle was not enough. His scenes are all related to hate of Yang family and his stupid snowflake gfriend. Cant watch that. BYE.

Daily Our Happy Days is a perfect family drama, with the plot that moves forward, with amazing meaningful dialogues, complex characters and amazing acting, and a smart and capable FL, so my desire to watch a quality family drama is satisfied.

This drama started masterfully and then went downhill. IT IS TRASHY SCRIPT TO keep the plot going ENTIRELY on the hate as the main theme until at least ep 40 and seems like even longer, based on comments here
That means that the entire plot is based on stupidities.

**** There has to be struggle to OVERCOME. Uncle struggled. The others didnt. His girl is totally pathetically weak and bails out as soon as wind blows. What is the point of having such partner???? FL is just laying in the gutter, where she jumped and stayed VOLUNTARILY out of greed, to keep the favors of her family. For a young person to be that stupid.... is unbelievable.... The youngest daughter of the ML family is so selfish and greedy and does whatever is most comfortable for her too....

Grandma and FL's mom are such greedy hateful monsters... FL's mom at least spoke up for Uncle but for her daughter???? Grandma is 100% hater. Seems like she kinda pretended to overcome it for Uncle to get married - did he??? - I jsut saw the families gathering that went totally wrong bc of hatred -
and ML's stepmom is a spoiled diva brat, so nasty, retaliative, so MEAN aggressive to others and even to her own family under the disguise of "care"
The bathroom scene of 3 women fighting and then table scene of her storming out shows that ML's stepmom is a MANIPULATIVE MONSTER, super extra immature insecure and nasty

Basically all women in the drama are either spineless idiots or hateful manipulative monsters. There is not even one who is likeable and/or a STRONG, SMART person.

The men are shown in an interesting way bc they are mostly .... incompetent.

Overall this is like a very toxic pile of very ordinary people doing toxic ordinary stupid things. OK THIS IS HOW THE DRAMA STARTS. But if the entire drama is that, than this story is UNworthy of a drama! Why waste a drama on something we see every day in real life??? Only a story that shows how it was overcome is worthy of a drama.

And this drama is almost ending and nothing even started getting resolved.

So the script writer really has no idea what to write about. The script writer has no idea how to overcome. The script writer has lots of experiences with toxic ordinary families doing stupid things, but not with HOW to overcome it. And so this trash script is gonna kill this drama and all the skilled actors are just wasted.

actually i agree with this. Carefully watching this drama during my alert daytime hours, I can see lots of holes in ML's acting, a lot of it is him pretending instead of "being" the character

By watching this drama carefully, I learned a lot.
This is filmed in Hwood style where most screen shots are meaningless actions like showing furniture etc. and most plot is just mental battles about technicalities e.g. how to steal a company, and then of course, the main FL villain lying. So essentially... there is less script to write, there is less content, and the drama is super ... flat.

In ep 11 and 12, the two MLs who are NIS agents started smiling, and yeah that makes them super charming and attractive, the big nice smile

and Bulgae fully integrated with his inner Uncle is also a very handsome and charming character

What is hakkyeon?
Bulgae is a very skilled spy who went amnesiac and became the village fool so the role requires very detailed acting in two diametrically opposing characters, AND the transformation - from the fool back to Bulgae, and then integrating the two. So it is like ... 4 characters lmao

. I am not sure if you noticed Bulgae actor doing lots of "background" movements that is sooooo telling. For example, how he as Bon Sook (did I spell it correctly) wiggles as he listens to what others are saying, etc He is in the background of the main scene but he is MOVING and ACTING and forms the scene that is deep and rich. Or how he as Bulgae does not move when others talk/enter/leave.... except when Prosecutor Kang enters lmao

As for fights, I am sure he had to practice and learn that. For example, just that part where he moves his foot around to prep is actually super difficult to do properly
