SFL will probably have to tell it to ML while they both try together to get out of their arranged marriage..... bc, based on previews, ML is NOT listening to FL at all

Yeah this is "troubled teenagers" drama :)

He dropped his dream girl without any thought as soon as his mother "sneezed" - so he is moma boy and is NOT ready to be in a relationship.
He will hopefully grow in this drama bc kdramas ARE about personal growth.

But in real life, do NOT hold your breath waiting for him to grow up and learn about love. A man like him will probably never make it. When you see someone like him, RUN. Do not wait for him. If he makes it, great. But do not ever count on it. Bc chances are super high that it will never happen. He has to want it first, and most comfortable brats like him have no reason to even want it

Asian dramas portray women as dumb and bad with money and also very forgiving so ... all this is ... typical
And tells us - the whole family is disfunctional - mom participated in this as a good thing, sister was marrying a rich man

Ah the rose loses its blush in ep 2 and we get to see how FL and ML *really* ARE as ppl... Very immature :) No knowledge about love. Bc .. they never had it :) They are both traumatized from their toxic families. In plain English - both ML and FL are ****messed up**** ML at least is functional at work. FL is 100% disfunctional except with the kid upstairs.

So... this is a show for troubled teenagers... About "learning about love and hormones".... and about learning that our parents are responsible for their decision and the messes they make / made ... and children are NEVER responsible for doing the parents' emotional work.... never responsible to keep bailing them out... children of any age are NOT responsible to create life for their parents. Read Mary Oliver's poem "Journey home"

omg FL was rude to run out on ML - she should have shouted through the bathroom door while running out - HEY MY MOM IS SICK I HAVE TO RUN BYE. That is basic good manners...

And he - trying to save his mom - and dad - like a dutiful little kid - wasting his life on saving a woozie "addict" mother.... . HIS MOM SHOULD SAVE HERSELF. He is NOT responsible to save her... His mom is essentially an addict and should learn to handle her life properly ON HER OWN. He can help .... but not sacrifice his life to do her work for her....

He is acting very very very childishly out of childhood trauma but he should grow up.. And he should pursue his dreams, like ... find the girl who made his heart alive. But they both were not ready yet :)
And FL and her mom are also a disfunctional family.... FL's mom - getting a heart stroke and causing a mess - after she gave all her money etc. A very useless and bad mom too..... Recklessly irresponsible.

ML is an arrogant snotty spoiled brat with a very cold heart, no experience in love, no belief in love, totally traumatized from his awful toxic family, with lots of money, smarts, business success, ability to cheat and get his way, ..... so... for ML to soften up and warm up to FL, it is mission impossible... HE HAS NO REASON TO..... Only in a drama it might work... In real life, he might find a dynamite kiss every week with a new chick.

Even without FL, ML defintely will want to get out of arranged marriage to SFL ... which is going to be a huuuuuge problem... bc of his dad who is ... a criminal :) and is gonna cheat to get his way... And his director sister, who is the bad kind too and in cahoots with their father... It is going to be battle... ...

And SFL is a really nice smart woman and she already fell in love with the photos of SML so their love is gonna take off fast and perhaps she can stop SFL marraige to ML, and marry SML instead - but she will have to work out a deal with her father to benefit ML's father. I am not sure if her father is gonna like that...
I think SML ... might have feelings for FL beyond just neighborly sisterly, But she doesnt.

Imo Climbing over him in bathroom was one of those life-death situations for her as undercover reporter, so she really is not to be held responsible for that. He should be glad he was helping her fight corruption.
Being rude while drunk is not soemthing we can hold her responsible for. She could have apologized later, sure.
BUT SHOWING UP CLUELESS TO INTERVIEW HIM, THE MEGA STAR, IS A HUGE DOODOO... AND YEAH ENTIRELY HER FAULT. The positive side of it is that she taught him his place, tht he cannot do whatever he wants just bc he is a star LOL

She crushes his grandiose self image of a mega star... and objectively shows him his faults AND his strengths. He should be thankful that she keeps him honestly on his toes... while thinking he is amazing. BUT she thinks he is an amazing actor, she totally adores him and believes in him, and she is actually helpful for him to be realistic about who he is and what he can do... She is not letting him walk all over her.

I said I highly appreciate the FL acting and am watching it for HER. She is absolutely phenomenal. It is a master actress. A cameleon who is REALLY that pesky grumpy immature reporter with a crush she doesnt know what to do with. I saw her in Glory where she was a PERFECT villain. I would say one of the best villains I have ever seen anywhere. Now she is a totally different person. I WANT TO WATCH HER ACTING.

So imo ML actor is spoiling the drama I really want to watch.

I just have to ff his whiney scenes... :) And perhaps he needs to hear the feedback. It would be a disaster that he goes again to do this in another drama.

The thing is, this ML actor can make his eyes and smile horrifyng if he wants to, or soft if he wants to..... so with a proper camouflage aka costuming, he CAN be a very complex character that is partially a villain or transitioning from a villain, which gives him a LOT more roles and really COMPLEX roles to pick from... .
In My Adjushi, the loan shark was actually in love with the FL.....
As a Gumiho/fox, ML was "of low character" to begin with, he was just a sex addict or a sexual poredator, translated into modern language, he was just using ppl for his own "fun" - and he transformed as he learned about care compassion and love.

modeling is a very competitive and vane field... so I am sure the actor has seen all kinds of vilanish things in that field... he can transfer that experience into his roles. And he does :)

An actor who did "a 100% evil guy" in One High School Heroes where he was a top of the gang that beats ppl and steals etc
and then "100% righteous guy" trainer in Pump Up the Healthy Love was also amazing, going between a villain and a good guy, 180 degrees opposite, and I did not even recognize him LOL until someone mentioned the good trainer was the villain LOL and complained why isnt he a villan again.. I said hogwash. Let the dude have fun and make more money with different roles

The fascinating thing is that you can also get a great villain out of an actor with a baby innocent face, bc the contrast between the face and the actions is WOW effective, ike Vincenzo, or Hwang Ki Chan in Queen's House daily, where he was a criminal but also a great father and dedicated son brother and family man.

And then all villains camouflaged as ordinary little businessman, like thief murderer father ML in Low Life who is now ML in Dream Life of Mr Kim....

I love when actors have diverse roles. It is more fun for them to try out something new, and it is also more fun for us, to see different sides they can show.

I love watching the FL, the actress is a phenomenally good actress, and a great comedian. There was only a few scenes where it was clear she was faking it. Everything else is 1000% real. I love watching her acting. I am watching the drama just for her.

The brothers are also hilarious.

ML is not fun... ML is an annoying little boy in an adult body, always too loud whining bossing and I like to fast forward his scenes .... I dont think it has to be that bad. I think it is the actor who is ruining that character by overdoing it in a grandiozely absurdly overdone makjang style. It is just does not feel natural. With different acting, ML could be a very hip dude

The ML is not enjoyable to watch bc the actor is OVERDOING his role. I guess the actor is tired of Squid Games bs and is totally enjoying doing everything he canNOT do there... so he is sooooo makjang and soooo over the top ... that it just looks fake. I dislike it. Sorry. But true. He needs to ground himself and act more normal.

Over the top makjang is actually style used in theater. The trick to pulling it off is to BE that character. No matter how pompous you are, you ARE that character. You are not pretending to be that character and just romping around with it for YOUR own fun, It is really hard to descrive what I am trying to describe bc I am not a trained actor and I lack vocabulary, I just can describe what I see. I see ML behaving like a kid who is off the leash and doing whatever he wants. He is jumping on the sofa, throwing balls through windows, breaking fancy china, and everything else that adults said was not a good thing to do, and he is enjoying acting out. But it is fun for HIM, not for the rest of us. An actor acts for the audience. Not for himself. Somehow I feel totally left out when I watch ML actor. He is having fun for himself only.

Sometimes an actor CAN pull it off and overdo and be totally phenomenal to watch. I am thinking Ok Ja from Queen's House - a loud matriarch into fancy clothes and stealing from others - she was sooo omakjang over the top and sooo having fun with it but it was so good, she was sooo fun to watch!!!! Even when grumpy or offended or snotty, she was fun. She was over the top but it was fun to watch bc it was clear she WAS Ok Ja, not an actor having fun pretending to be something. It was not a make-believe, it was real. A very gaudy, vein, fashionable, contrived, conceited, snotty, flamboyant colorful character. Part of the fun was her hair, jewelry, makeup, and clothes. She was dressed to the nines... Ok Ja is like ... 60? but totally ... a riot. The actress is overdoing it but it looks so normal for Ok Ja to behave like that. I watched that drama mostly for her.

Another villain like that is loan shark mama Nan Suk from A Graceful Liar. So loud, aggressive, grumpy, mean, etc but absolutely great to watch, she *** is *** Nak Suk. And also very pretty with her dark lipstick matching the hair and her gaudy tacky clothes and bombastic huge shiny jewelry. A very beautiful woman in all that. Nan Suk is around ... mid 50s? if her daughter is 30? Again, the actress is totally over the top but it looks normal for Nan Suk. I watched that drama mostly for her.

But this ML dude .. is not it. His clothes and scarfs are ... omg let me throw up... and his acting is ... well... just screaming HEY IT IS SO FUN TO DO WHATEVER I WANT, lemme scream some more here just for the fun of it.....

Someone needs to tell that actor it is NOT ok to do whatver he wants and to play like a kid in a candy store without adult supervision. Even if it is makjang, the actor has to be REAL. THe overdoing must BE that character.

I dont think the ML actor is miscast. I am inclined to be pretty sure he can act it properly if he wants to. I suspect he is just too arrogant and acts any way he wants instead of trying to act FOR the role. Maybe too much Squid Games made him lose touch. I dont know...

The only thing I know is that I want to see ML acting more ... normal? I dont know how to describe it. Make it real. BE that character. Not just enjoy romping around trying to experiment with that character to see how much screaming you can do per second.... Save that for practice at home... I guess my message is - STOP ROMPING AROUND AND ACT LIKE YOU ARE THAT CHARACTER, dont act like a stranger who is having fun overdoing some acting
