i took a break from daily dramas and haven’t watched this one. For those of you watching, is it worth starting?
imo you might be happier watching Our Happy Days, Family Register, and weekender Love on the Menu - unless you are looking for a very raw makjang, where 3 serial killers wreck chaos in a bynch of dumb victims trying to execute revenge. The victims finally start working together maybe in ep ... 70? I forgot - but it is very late - and then it gets interesting as good guys win and lose, win and lose... right now we are on "lose" :) before ep 70 or so, it is all "lose". and pathetically The plus side of this drama is watching HJ actor rise to stardom, that is a new excellent actor who should become a star, and the drama has some really deep dialogues and dilemmas, mostly around HJ character
IS CRYSTAL A NARCISSIST? or ... what is it? Thanks HOW IS CRYSTAL'S BEHAVIOR DESCRIBED MEDICALLY?
I watch dramas to figure stuff from real life. So when Crystal went into G's room and started snooping, and G found her and screamed, she attacked him for startling her and was all upright about "what wrong did she do????" and asking G to apologize for startling her and telling her to get out My own mother does that all the time. So I want to know:
I didn't think their relationship will be that serious before he disappear. To have a child. Plot Synopsis by…
yes you are right. I read only Asian Wiki description in the post, and after reading MDL description, seems like AsianWiki is wrong. Someone should let them know. I doubt that MDL would wrongly repeat several times that she owns the shop
Seems like all her hard work paid off and she bought a shop, finally? And seems like he never gave up his family. Seems like that Italian restaurant is his family's too. Seems like he dumped her bc his mommy said so and threatened him to lose everything if he didnt. He is a bad guy
We get the diagnosis early, when the grandpa collapsed, he kept going without even thinking to help. So yeah seems like he chose his family's wealth over FL and dumped her, she got a side shop, and then they somehow ran into each other again
knowing that her father who she loves dearly, she might not marry Minho because of what his father did to her…
yeah you are right! she would not bail out of concern for destroying MH or G and EA by keeping this secret. She would bail out bc MH side hurt her side.
at the end it is all about protecting her own comfort in living in her perfect controlled world And, she cares for her dad - or anyone - ONLY as long as he provides her comfort. As soon as her dad was unable to provide her with the perfect home/family, she ditched him BC HER PERFECT WORLD COLLAPSED. At the end, she knew the story and asked her dad to keep quiet so that SHE could live in a perfect world provided by MH for her.
SR is a parasite!!!
The snowflake porcelain doll perfectionist egomaniac So what is her medical diagnosis? Compulsory obsessive about perfection and self comfort, as one manifestation of deep narcissism? I am curious
I like that the drama is quite real and shows inherent sexism in daily life. ML beat up customers and nothing happened. FL was a little late to work and would have lost her job or something bad like that if she had not promised to clean and close for a month. FL asked her NarciSister to take care of the kids and the house, she never mentioned that Gyu O should do it too, and he did not offer either. Everyone praising "kind cute pretty" woman as something desirable, never mind how smart, capable and strong she is. In many ways, it feels like watching Joseon. Unfortunately the same sexism, globally, everywhere, it just can look slightly different..... USA sexism requires a woman to look like a barbie doll "sexy", subservient and flirty, ideally promiscuous too, while also being a work horse. Like the gisaeng. Yeah. An ideal american woman is like a gisaeng but with a regular job making tons of money but behaving like gisaeng with her male coleagues and everyone And this drama would look almost the same if we put historical costumes on them Dont take me wrong, I do like the drama, these are just things I observe and learn from. No culture is without its dark side
I felt dejavu. I was raised by a narcissistic mother and Han Gyuyoung’s behavior is so simillar to typical narcissistic…
FL's dad is a narcissist too and even worse, he is the father yet exploiting and abusing his kids. The note he left about having tuna in the fridge when he comes... and he comes home every once in a few months, and keeps bringing different women home, who just leave kids behind..
The drama shows the sexism of Korean society so FL is hit with a 5-way whammy, oldest and kind daughter in a poor family without a mom
They are seriously piling the family trauma on the FL from the get go. Hope it’s not as bad as Beauty and Mr…
yeah why arent the siblings helping.? ... esp the blouse thing - why doesnt FL just tell the Narcissist Sister to wash her own clothes? something is weird there, isnt it? FL looks like a smart strong person so finally she kinda set the boundary, but she did not mention that teenage boy will take care of anything.. and why are 6 kids living off the paycheck of FL? dad sends no money?
ML and FL actors are very competent, FL sometimes obviously pretends but is usually quite all right.... ML actor especially is exceptionally good ... so expressive ... that is becoming more and more rare these days. So I conclude this drama is worth watching just for him
omg I am laughing to the point of crying, this page is soooo funny The comments are HILARIOUS, these memes and detailed analyses need to be put into their own stories
I didnt watch the drama but I totally get what the drama looks like based on the description in the comments
There is so much funny here, like "My dear smart cookie" character and "my brain cells went into witness protection just to keep my sanity intact!"
It is such a privilege actually to be on this page and see a whole bunch of amazing comedians horsing around,, exposing every detail. Mercilessly. It is HILARIOUS
You may see the comparisons between Weak hero and HSROG but weak hero is adapted from the webtoon which debuted…
dramas are not full representation of webtoons webtoon is just a starting point so I dont even consider the webtoons when I look at dramas
So weak hero webtoon started the wave of all-male plot and bullying and fights? ok good to know
So if I were to say it again then to be politically cortect: Weak Hero drama is so cheap and so one-dimensional, only violence. Weak hero is practically all fighting trashy, with super limited acting and plot HSROG took the concept a lot deeper and was a much more complex and complete artistic drama with some deep issues looked at and resolved, and with a rather deep plot and issues addressed, and a lot of great dialogues and acting. And yeah fights. But it wasnt the most important thing in the drama. When I remember HSROG, I remember dialogues. Amazing deep dialogues. That's classy
The plus side of this drama is watching HJ actor rise to stardom, that is a new excellent actor who should become a star, and the drama has some really deep dialogues and dilemmas, mostly around HJ character
