One key problem is that the Daughter actress is really bad at acting. It is clear she is pretending to act. That is like nails on chalkboard, Also, she looks too old. She and her mom look like sisters, and she looks too old for her drama age

I think one problem is that MJ is not shown as a man who wants Chloe. He is behaving more like her brother. THat is just too much self control - or just plain impotence and/or immaturity lmao and I wish that MJ melts and starts being conflicted about that.
HJ's desire to grab Chloe for himself definitely stems from the fact that the tom cat is after the lady cat. But he is truly a tom cat - he will jump on the lady cat while she fights him, and then leave her. He is not gonna be around FOR her. HJ is SELFISH to the core as you said. But he is HEALTHIER than MJ, who seems to suffer from .... totally not feeling that he is in a BODY, specifically, in an adult male body. MJ is like a child, or like a monk, or like an impotent old man - he treats Chloe like his beloved .... SISTER. That is one of the reasons we call him mama boy and one the reasons MJ character is sooo frustrating - he is so lacking depth, complexity and WIDTH, he is definitely not an adult man

he has real generosity. And his letting HJ have Chloe is a real generosity and real love. He is letting her live her life as SHE wants.That is the greatest love out there.
Also, notice, MJ is not tormented about loving Chloe. He just loves her and gives to her. That is true love.
Notice how HJ is tormented with his "love" i.e. OBSESSION for Chloe... So he is not feeling real love. He is just feeling infatuation. When you love someone, you do NOT feel like that. He wasnts to grab Chloe, to own her, etc and it is like a child trying to catch a butterfly to pin it into a box he keeps on his wall. HJ's feelings are not true love :) He is just a child.... experiencing a crush

Well I do agree that HJ would make for a better male partner since HJ is a lot hotter and trying to get into Chloe's pants, his feeling of being tortured is bc he wants something he cannot have.
On the other hand MJ behaves like a monk, ok Chloe, I feel nothing, go with that other guy. I totally understand why that is FRUSTRATING to you to watch. MJ is not behaving like a MAN. MJ is behaving like a head of a monastery saving his fellow nun.

HJ's efforts are ... mostly pafhetically ... fake..... Sure he is complacent now bc he is expecting soemthing. But how many times did Chloe catch him NOT caring at all.
HJ DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO REALLY CARE.
MJ KNOWS

MJ knows what love is. HJ right now is doing love, he is just TRYING TO KISS AS@ SO THAT HE CAN OWN CHLOE and there is a huge difference

I like HJ better as a drama character, he is a lot more fun - HJ actor is a really good actor and he has great lines, HJ reflects and says some really deep stuff. I love watching HJ. . But as a man to date and marry .... ... no way. HJ is too... toxic, confused, and immature, and he really does not know how to care. He is INSECURE
Also he is very .... dirty. He grabbed Chloe away from MJ. HJ does not have enough intergrity to be fully trusted.

MJ on the other hand, DOES have integrity and he is growing really fast to step on those who block the way. See what he is doing to YN... IT IS HIGHLY UNFORTUNATE THAT MJ ACTOR SU.CKS AT ACTING AND HE MADE MJ AS FLAT AS CARDBOARD. MJ is not fun to watch, period. "the real MJ" should have NOT been this boring and bland. IF the actor were better, you would see a lot more warm and expressive character, not just a mommy boy

So you need to go back to the basics and every time MJ or Chloe scolds HJ for not caring about Chloe, take notes. If you hate wathching MJ then to to scenes where Chloe just BURRIES HJ with criticism of his selfishness and lack of real care and concern for her.

HJ grew up without real love so he is confused
MJ was very much loved and also he loved others, so MJ is the way to go

IT IS TOO BAD MJ ACTOR IS NOT SO GOOD AT ACTING. If he were better, you would see what we are talking about a lot more quickly

I watched ep 1, 2 and 30 of Five Fingers, it is such a toxic heavy drama, and I concluded that adult Ji Ho acttor is the problem, that actor cannot act a positive loving character. Just cannot. Wow. I think he had scandals with drugs and parties and it is kinda clear, that person really cannot find anything good inside him to show in acting. WOW
So all his acting anywhere is the same.
I think he was slightly more relaxed in Love Your Enemy but still he was too cold

I just checked Five Fingers, I love it!!!! the music is so nice in the drama :) I am a musician and a dancer too so I am greatly enjoying it. Seems like the chairwoman is a fashionista too so that's fun too :) Also, the story is kinda like my family story lmao Well... NOT lmao I just watched through the first 5 min s and he is already doing arson.. ML looks like ML from Princess Hours and Lucifer.. ??? Yup he is... And SML is another great actor, BEFORE he ruined his face with plastic surgery. I am glad I got to see the beautiful version of himself. After plastic surgery, e.g in Suspicious Partner, he looks like a frog, huge mouth and bulging eyes
Five Fingers is a drama full of toxic characters. I am not sure I will be able to stomach it. Min 15 and I already had enough of nasties

well give them some time to get to know each other, relax and get comfortable. Most likely, that dream kiss is gonna look rather lukewarm later...
Right now it is all new and unknown, they are nervous, not sure how much to trust, esp since he is her boss and she is the daughter of his lifelong mentor.... the potential for being harmed is very high!!!!!

so of course it is gonna be awkward at first as they are exploring a new uncharted territory. BUT AS SOON AS THEY REALIZE IT IS SAFE ....

Oh I watched the Innocent Man. Wow was that a heavy suffering for Kang Ma Roo.... I remember that drama as one of the most horrid ones, that poverty, jail, his head hurting, then the car drive into a crash that finally broke him... and the end... Wow that was a brutally raw drama - love and hate at the same time....

i am interested in a real kdrama - something warm, deep, humorous, uplifting, community oriented and with good life values. Traditional lifestyles, healing and food are also of interest to me. . I like Korean veggies and herbsused for healing and traditional medicine.
And yeah kim chi is one of my fav foods, I eat it every day when I am in the USA.

I dislike revenge dramas. I liked Kim Chi Family bc all characters decided NOT to do revenge. That was super smart imo.

And I dont like nasty dramas. I like to watch "nice" people do great things. Like Kim Chi Family.

So if you want to refute someone, then ask them specifically what made them dislike it. Ask them WHY they think it is bad. What specifically is bad?

If they have no good reason, then you can scorch them, but politely, with SPECIFIC examples from the drama. Never resort to personal insults. it does not help the discussion

fyi modern cdramas is where you will find most of the plasticised pale skinny ANDROGENOUS dudes looking like anorexic teenage girls, or like manga characters, everyone has triangular face and looks like a cartoon character, and THEY ALL LOOK ALIKE it is hard to tell who is who... . Even Chinese military published an article complaining of unmanly look and too much makeup lmap and what is even more tragic, the audience was all in favor of those girl-dudes. they think they are attractive.... o m g

I LIKE STEPHEN CHOW MOVIES FROM HONG KONG, he is not plasticized manicured for sure... and the Mainland China ML actor from his Movie Mermaid isnt either. His role there is totally fantastic, so creative and fun. I check his other dramas and movies filmed in China proper and they are all ... mediocre at best. They really limited him.
