Okay one more. I just love all the domestic bliss in ep 4. Ren being soft and allowing Kazuma to treasure him is medicine for my heart ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I don’t enjoy these last 4 eps. I despise palace politics, especially when it entails cruel and petty princesses and disgustingly corrupt officials.
Finger crushing just to get an audience with the Emperor???? 🙄🙄🙄🙄

I have an idea for a new period drama.
LXY is his smirky, swaggering, bombastic side-eyeing self starring along side….me.

He tries to manipulate and finagle and one up me, but I have the last laugh.
That’s right. He falls harder.
And there is lots of shallow breathing, eye-f**king and increasing tension until the inevitable combustion of passion long repressed.

I can’t believe the first thing I ever saw Kim Dong Wook in was Coffee Prince, talk about a glow up. He is a phenomenal actor and so handsome too ❤️

Also, tho I just started this (on ep 1) how come there is no romance tag? Their chemistry is insane and that scene where he meets her in the cafe and offers her his coat because she is cold 😍😍😍

I’ve lost track how many times I’ve watched this. It’s my favorite BL from China. Arguably the best. Meng Rui is gorgeous and brilliant as Xie Yan, a mercurial rich boy in desperate love.

I just love it. Makes me wish China could relax a little. Sheesh they made good content while it was allowed.

I’m so excited for this. Ep 1 was a little slow as it introduced the characters and teed up the central plot but the sense of dread grew dramatically until the end of the ep. I know this will be creepy and scary and I’m here for it.
On to ep 2.

Some male protagonists in Chinese costume dramas have been more erudite to be sure. So have been more imposing. Others with better cultivation.
But I will lake GLS any day. He is so devoted. The perfect combination of protective, doting yet at the same time the most supportive.
I suppose he had me when he stridently encouraged YuRu to be her own person.
But the fact that he fell so hard once she did….my word.
His character os the perfect husband. Literally. The perfect husband.
He is in absolute awe of this woman. And he didn’t even start to trip over her beauty until she knocked him out with her awesomeness.

So I’ll remain single I guess, Cuz GXD just ratcheted my standards even higher.

I want this in life. Nothing less will suffice.

I agree with you about the chemistry. His eyes are so intense yet somehow soft when he listens to her. Another missed opportunity putting him in a support role.

I love him in an anti-hero role. It’s hard to match him with a female of the same acting caliber. Or maybe it’s just that he is so stunning I that no one else registers for me.
