2nd prince got off his mistakes so easily, he did so many despicable things and he was just exiled. Was his title…
I’ve noticed that it’s a common trope in historical cdramas that the ruler is unfairly biased, paranoid and has compromised morals. You often see Kings/emperors that pit their children against one another. How he treated his sons does appear to be unfair but I guess the main point is how Zheng and his sons has responded. For Zheng, An and Qi, they’ve chosen honorable behavior. Song chose the dishonorable path. Jun remains to be seen.
When I spoke about the scenes between King & Song in a complimentary fashion it was to acknowledge the amazing acting. I admire the talent of both actors in these scenes and I don’t think that the nature of either character should detract from the skill both men demonstrated in their portrayal.
Words cannot express how much I adore this show. Qi’s redemption arch both with the aid of his supportive brothers and on his own was hilarious. That he and Stupid An have atoned and proved themselves to be capable, noble men under Zheng’s example is touching and well done. The ladies never fail to impress me with their tenacity, loyalty to one another and perpetual good humor. Zhengs household has got to be one of the warmest places to live. Butler Su is simply awesome. Taking it back to the school room chat between King and Song and I was genuinely touched. The following confrontation where Song raged impotently at his father was no less impactful. This show is so much fun it would be easy to overlook the outstanding acting that occurs during the serious scenes. This is a true gem.
Side note: Edward Zhang always plays a snake but he sure was captivating in this role. His emotional eyes, his soft voice, his cunning behavior, his depravity…. He was amazing. I hated him but in the end, couldn’t help but find him almost sympathetic. Somebody give this guy a role as a protagonist.
Women helping and supporting each other while achieving their dreams makes me so happy. It's rare to see such…
I agree. This is such a refreshing take on female life in ancient China. These girls are ambitious, strong, funny and so supportive of one another. I love that we haven’t seen any petty backstabbing amongst the clique and I hope it stays that way.
I never watched UWMA so I’m here strictly for the WinTeam chemistry. Win is carrying this show in terms of acting. His relationship with Team, imo, the only thing about this show that’s interesting. I skip through all other scenes. The scenes with the MLs are really good though Team is sometimes kind of childish. I’ll give Boun fans credit, he really is worth all the hype. I’d like to see him in something more complex because you can tell he has a lot of talent.
I think Mol from 180 Degrees directed this one. Talk about bi-polar. I’ve lived on this Earth for 45 years and in that time I’ve never had as many ups and downs as Yai did. Still… Goddamnit….I fuckin love this show!!! It was HOT as in SEXY, touching (crazily so), the OST was addicting., the plushies were everything. It was TENDER. It started with Yai trying to revenge porn Mangkorn , but ending up in a ball and gag!! In short, I’m utterly in love and I won’t get over this soon ❤️🐉🐅⛓️🔥
On ep 11 and I’m sad. Zheng & Wei have only just realized their feelings for each other and now he is going to be forced to marry another woman. I really do t think I can stand the unnecessary drama. Honestly, the simplicity of their relationship is what I liked about this series and now there is going to be strife and conflict. What a bummer.
