and i watched My journey to You towards it's finale and i could still say I love it even the final episode. that was a good cliffhange, open-ending. suits the genre.
this one, butchered it's ending. the ending was ridiculous.

yes. glad someone else noticed. but the one in DOTS was executed better. and they filmed scenes that will prove the ML is alive. this was just a DOTS variant but they try so hard to be different.

i won't get my hopes up. this is not a light hearted drama.

i've watched an incredible amount of cdramas. so i'm not surprised they might go that route for this one. I'll be surprised if they make it a happy ending.

I tend to be wrong with endings so I'm calling it. especially now, the drama writers are scaring us with his decisions on leaving her when he found out the witch doctor died. They might change his decision and they'll finally reunite, but a bittersweet ending is not out of the list.

for the record. the iconic OST here was sung by Liu Yuning. yes, that song the ML keeps singing to the FL which made the first half of the show so romantic and so good and made the guy such a greenflag.
I don't know what happened towards the end, they got these top actors for the cast, beautiful story, premise and OST. but they fail the finale.

i'm still angry with this ending. perfect waste of talented actors, and beautiful premise.
the story started out as a light-hearted modern romcom, then they try to end it like a heavy xianxia.

only the last parts. it was like a loose end to a perfect good rope.

Since she is supposed to be a really good pearldiver. I'm expecting we'll get an underwater scene where she saves the hero's life. and they kiss of course.
All other historical dramas have that scene so why would this show not have that.
Unlike Novoland pearl eclipse, where the title had no connection to the plot at all.
