There were a lot of “lies” made by the characters that made me think, ah this is why the title is A Beautiful Lie.
But if that ending was the beautiful lie? Her hallucinating even their wedding. His proposing in the desert.
It was not beautiful. It was convoluted. A messed up ffed up ending.

And she doesn’t feel remorse or guilt at all that she caused his demise. The writers hate the actress to make her character that way.

In LIP, they got married and had a kid before she died from her illness which was already introduced from the start of the plot.

maybe he when found out she was behind it all, he dropped everything and stayed away from her forever. he doesn't show up even to his family so that the lie would be perfect.
she has to suffer for making him go to that dangerous place.

that was a bad show. i don't understand how they got Leo to act on it. He seems like a good actor would gets to choose good scripts. I dropped that show after a few eps when things were starting to get weird, they were in a foreign place but the people could speak chinese. so weird.
this one started out well. i even praised the second lead couple, they acted beautifully. but towards the end, the main leads plot was being sidetracked and going downhill. then they ended it like this. i feel betrayed

what so bad is that it was the FL who caused his demise. if she had not made up that elaborate lie, he wouldn't have gone to Suman.
He went missing not knowing the truth about Cato/Peace. She was the one behind the lie. And it ended without being revealed. I think the makers of this show owe one last episode to make everything clear. The ending was blur.

i'm rewatching it to heal my mind. the ending also caused me some cdrama trauma

i think the director and writer went MIA or walked off the set before they could film the last episodes. so the actors was left to think about how the plot would go. or the real script was stolen.
the ending was all wallowing in sadness shots. nothing is happening. no progression. it was bad.

i guess this is his sign he should stop acting in modern dramas for a while.
and go back to costume dramas like Starry Love, Goodbye my Princess.
at least on those, even if the ending is sad, he is the one alive.

she's in Story of Pearl girl, playing a maid to a lady again. It took a while for me to remember that she was Bao Xia in Blossoms of Adversity. she was so good there. and she makes a mark.
