i love pei wenxuan a lot. the way he suggested that li rong pursue su rongqing because he believed maybe it'd…
his character here, reminds me of the ML (also played by him) in Story of Kunning Palace. He got two strikes for a guy who can't seem to handle a clever girl. And he always ends up complaining/explaining/confessing his feelings towards the girl around a rain. Just this time, he was literally standing in the rain. In Kunning palace, he confessed to a dense girl too using the rain as a subject.
They are playing mind games, the characters. in a not fun way. and Youku is milking the episodes. hahahahah I appreciate the acting though, especially the FL, she's a young veteran in acting !
i love how she could trick him multiple times before they were officially together. even when they were having arguments and she is cross with him. He will just coax her like an obedient husband. and they are acting like they are already a married couple. Like the time she lied to him that she's a concubine of another man, he was so devastated that he ended up giving in to the deal with a losing hand. Then he got tricked again with the arm cuff, she almost escaped. He is a war general who is clever, genius but when it comes to her, he acts like a foolish man. Good thing he was, because he outwitted her this time. He can also admit defeat when it comes to her father because, he so badly wanted her, he can't afford to piss off her father. She also tricked him two times with the eyes-closed game, but I bet for all her trickery, he is the winner because he gets her kiss, and a baby. ahahahah
Im really liking the visuals of this show. The characters and actors did a par job. But the production is quite low budget for this year. The ML needs more experience in acting and conveying emotions. The plot is really sad, I couldnt get any bit of happiness. A good mix of laughter and sorrow in a drama, is what creates a masterpiece. This is just so so.
the way they introduced the plot is a redflag for me. it was confusing from the start. an intro should have a clear setup of the plot to engage its viewers. this story started with a shocking event and went back and forth through past and present without any intention of letting the viewer understand even a bit of what's going on.
oh no. at the very least, the poster is misleading. One would assume, that since there's a time travel element, there might be a love triangle situation but with different versions of their past present/future selves. And the only common denominator is the girl. But it appears the same faces, totally different persons. How and where would I even start. The premise is bad, the intro is complicated, redflag. and then, it gets more confusing, more red flags. I'm already a few episodes in and I still have no idea what is going on.
This is so confusing. So both the ML and FL are playing two different characters each? Its not a past and present version of them but different persons? 4 different persons played by 2 actors?
And in the book 2, it will be the story of the rise of the young Emperor where for sure his strongest allies will…
For sure Yanxi's son will be great in both martial arts and astronomy. He will be Ah Jian's favorite royal subject and the Hua boys will be great officials in the empire. Possible one of them will fall in love with a princess from the northern land, lol. Ah Jian will be the peaceful and wise emperor who will unite the empire with the northern land.
beast mode but only wants to delivery the measuring rods. what a lovelorn fool. I love his mindset, young stubborn couple just wants to prove that their love can't be severed by a royal decree. he will fight against everything just for her.
For the record, I have never seen a historical drama with such harmony within the families, so to speak the Hua family is a complex one. They have at least 2 major sons who have both concubines and wife under the roof. And the concubine and wive's are like sisters to each other.
I have a question, is Boyi's father really the husband of his nominal mom? cause he was adopted right? and his biological mom is the same as Hua Qin's who is under the Aunt Xia branch. How are they related in this part?
Fav moments of the final episodes: Jian became the emperor - and Shen Qi is his teacher Shaoyao and Jian reunited with their Grandmother Shaoyao is very happy with Shen Huan and is a county princess/medical genius working for the young emperor (her cousin) Reunion of Hua family at last (thanks to emperor Jian's decree) The lousy king died (he was clingy fr to his nephew) he didn't change or have redeeming quality till the end, not a wise emperor
No happy ending without some hurts: Rong and Zhengzhi's short tragic love (justice for Rong) only Master Hua didn't have a immediate family to hug with the reunion - Madam Hua :(
So-so Just the sailing life for our main couple Yan and Zhi, their doing the DINK lifestyle for now Who the heck was the mastermind enemy?
Looking forward to: Zhi and Yan comes back to Daqi and serve their official duties as advisers/elder sis and bro to the emperor Their kids! where? Ah Jian might have a potential future with Doudou - maybe another book - but why not? childhood sweethearts trope and he love the Hua family
He's had similar ratings for past dramas on MDL, so your "less and less" is not accurate in my opinion. I apologize,…
and i don't hate mature plots, for example, I liked Go Ahead and Meet yourself. But those have totally different plots so i can't pinpoint what is common with them that i like that i didn't see in this show of Xu Kai's. anyways, I'm still looking forward to his future projects, cause he is a talented actor i have seen that. Just for this show, he was underutilized.

i meant the previous shows of his was Ashes of Love, Wonderland of Love, then Sword and Fairy with esther yu, which kinda flopped (anyways it was on par with the same airing show that time). then this. I had the same treatment of this show with the one he had with Yang Mi. I think his chemistry works best with younger female leads. That's just my hunch. and this is not his fault. Maybe it's just really up to taste. For example, I really liked the show Falling into Your Smile. that was unserious, but it's really popular with the younger generations. and this one, might be liked by more mature audiences.
i was honestly expecting a phenomenal drama of sorts because Yang Zi is the co-lead. but maybe that formula works only for historical dramas. I don't know. I am not feeling the best of the family drama in this show. so for now im dropping it.

Many short web drama have this story, but very quick and amateur.
