I'm guessing it's probably a term more commonly used in China? Because I read the Chinese novel and they also…
either way, I love that she's a comedian... it's not that I have seen all that many Cdramas but it's the first time a see a character making stand up comedy, moreover the main character!!.
I don't understand why the summary says she is a... Talk show host? She is a stand up comedian, that is pretty refreshing!. Some of her jokes are pretty funny.
I don't understand the low rating. Sure, is not perfect, sometimes the comedy is over the top and there are some plot holes. The ending seems to suggest a sequel? There were plenty of unanswered things, which, if it wasn't continued wouldn't be so bad. I like that in the end, it didn't seem like they destroyed the system but planted a seed. They weren't too OP or had the most influential friends, they were simple citizens doing what they could. It's a pretty good watch.
fifth time watching, also watched the special twice. I have read at least three times the novel and I actually bought them and have them proudly sitting on my night stand but all I can say is how pretty is Wei Wuxian, I mean Lan Wangji too but Wei Wuxian... oh wow.
I must have read the novel like three times in a row, it was one of the ones that got me into Danmei but I usually don't watch the dramas for obvious reasons but this one truly did not disappoint.
I just started watching this on a recommendation from someone a year or so ago. Lol. I finally remembered to watch…
it might feel dated if it was set elsewhere, I guess the biggest difference would be smartphones and that people actually called each other. But otherwise the music, the clothing (no oversized clothing showing flashy brands, well, except for the mom whose fashion does feel outdated even for 2007) and the human relationships are really great in this. Not to mention how likeable most characters are. Hope you're enjoying it, it's one of my favorites.
It's a cute show, really beautiful girl, meets really beautiful boy, fall in love, happy, happy, drama, happy, happy. But the one thing I can't forgive is the Weiqi, Baduk, Go, (whatever your preference) board in the video game created. The pieces are placed totally wrong!!! they're place in the center of the squares, the center!!!.
It's really impressive how you can watch three dramas that are totally different and she's in all of them playing an incredibly different role. She is really amazing and I think she works more than any other actor, she's really on everything.
I started this for Mike D'Angelo but it turned out really entertaining. The main couple ends up being a really good one and even the super annoying guy ends up being bearable. The Swan lake as a score felt a bit off but they did use the score in a very unique way, creating lot's of comedy. The thing that really bugged me was that in EVERY scene there was a television on. Such a waste of energy, It was probably product placement... All in all this was really fun!
how spot on was your review! I'm another one of those that Playful kiss opened up a whole world for me, I remember seeing it recommended on You tube and thought what?!?! wow! I loved and hated it, Kim Hyun Joon was gorgeous back then and Oh Hani was just adorable and of course loved the dad and Baek Seun Jo's mom. But all in all I never felt he respected her at all, even on the You Tube version. As years passed I never wanted to revisit any other versions because I know he doesn't deliver but had a rare day off and a bad cold and saw somewhere something related, watched it and it made me feel all the feels! then I come to share my joy and see your review! You said everything needed to be said...
I haven't watched them yet, mostly because "family" is a bit of a sore spot for me, I was a child in the 80s and…
I was a child in the 80's and 90's as well. But believe me, Reply'88 will bring you lots of nostalgia, the good kind!. The family dynamics are a messy like all families but adorable. And the kids friendship is amazing and sooo funny!. I didn't like the other two Reply's but 88 is hands down one of my favorite shows. It has a vibe like Wonder Years but in Korea, without the Vietnam war but instead the Seoul Olympics, which for me are the first's I remember. It's warm, wholesome and funny! Give it a try!
