When it comes to drama airing, I don't trust any streaming service.

But they didn't even released an ost or any new clips for tbw, why for Yang Zi's drama then? Just some valentine promotion?

Saw that Youku is releasing ost and clips for Yang Zi's fantasy drama. Doesn't that mean this drama will be pushed back for release. I mean they definitely won't release their own two big dramas at the same time. They didn't even compete with MTC.

The best thing about this drama is that l iterally heard that this drama exists one week before it aired, when Tencent released it's trailer without english subtitles. I was like I know all the main characters so let's watch it. Then I thought this could be interesting and kept searching for the english subtitles.
Finally after watching all the pre released clips and watching the first few episodes did I realized that this is a hidden gem. It may not be perfect but it's good enough and quite entertaining. If most low to mid budget drama was atleast this level then our enjoyment of cdramas would increase thousand folds. Best drama of February for me.

Yes. They could be with thousand women no problem but women has to tolerate that. No wonder women were always fighting among all the concubines.

Also don't compare her with those very green young actresses in low budget dramas. This drama is a big budget drama. So you have to compare her with the likes of Yang Mi, Yang Zi, Reba etc. Compared to that benchmark there is no way she is better than them.

There are many a list actresses in china better than her. No need to downgrade them to praise her. This is one of her weakest role. And ML is definitely a better actor than her. The whole drama is probably only getting some views because of his fan base.

When she told him she was that little girl he saved years ago, his expression was spot on. I really enjoyed that scene. It was beautiful and right amount of dramatic.

She is better for strong woman character. She doesn't suit elegant and delicate royal. It was my first complain about the drama.

Well Yang Yang may have good chemistry with Reba in Yamg but I have never enjoyed any of Yang Yang historical or costume dramas. So in that regard Allen is 100 % better choice for this drama. Yang Yang is good in modern dramas whereas Allen practically embroiders historical or costume dramas.

Second couple has already worked on another drama as couple so they of course has a more natural chemistry. Watch the drama on Viki or YouTube that has good subtitles.

Directing is bad but I would say rather than acting it's the story that is bad. It's mostly predictable and no good moments for the good guys.

Honestly I read the novel after the casting was made so I imagined Allen as the male lead from the get go. So my perception can be different than you. I find him very suitable. Maybe your uneasiness will go away after this drama airs.

Tragedy has its own appeal if it's done right. Also one and only despite being the first part was shot after shooting forever and ever, so it had better chemistry. Bai Lu and Allen had built their chemistry in forever and ever, which was readymade in one and only. Also Allen looks really good in historical dramas. It's definitely his strength. All of his popular dramas are historical.

White or silver hair has been very common in drama land for the past few years. Maybe that's why they didn't do it. Also after watching one and only I can definitely say sad and restrained love is something Allen Ren can definitely play better than most actors in his age range.
