Make up department is nuts, what's with all that crazy lipstick on rowoon? like he's already so gorgeous and manly…
I was thinking the same he's like a statue of a greek god with lipstick on. I suppose that's what the director thinks gives him the aloof, godlike beauty, which makes it even funnier when he runs around like an insane stalker, no shame, no decorum, just an out of control idiot in love lol
This is my guess for the unravelling of the plot Shin Yu did not drink the love potion, but was already attracted to Hong Jo, and now he's revved up because he thinks it is the spell and he's going insane because his reactions are out of his very controlled ocd personality. As he said 'I don't brown nose anyone'. Also the fact that he's found his destined love, or as someone really cleverly said below his 'force majeure' that is what will cure him of the evil spell cast on him., and his illness. I think that's what the shamon would have explained to Hong Jo. Hong Jo also knows that Jai Kyung has expressed doubts about his capacity to love. The rest will be how this all comes to unravel, should be pretty hilarious and complicated.
Jo Bo Ah and Ro Woon are also my faves, and been waiting for this drama, the thing with dramas when two of your…
I agree, comedy is way more difficult than people think. You've either got it or you don't! And the writers have nailed it, the whole cast must be packing up while making this show. What fun!!!
This is the most hilarious show, the writers are totally brilliant, and the acting is fantastic. Rowoon as the 'on the spectrum' robotic character, battling with being totally infatuated, is just hysterically absurd, I'm just laughing non stop. And Jo Bo Ah is beyond funny, now trapped in this ridiculous predicament. These are two of my favourite actors so I'm in heaven, enjoying this show. They are both so talented and gorgeous. I'm loving all the support cast, they're also perfect, timing, comedy is wonderful. Just my kind of thing.
As I said below the cast was a seriously great bunch of people. I'm sure that these people as individuals would be fascinating to know, and I'm sure the conversation behind the cameras must have been way more interesting. Just consider what they do IRL Their backstories and their careers alone would have made great content. That kind of content is the driving force behind why people behave as they do, and their choices. I also really like the panelists., they were fun and did a great job to try and infuse excitement and tension into this bland experience. Unfortunately the makers of this show were unable to craft something with what was potentially interesting content, so any drama and tension was contrived with biased editing and endless flashbacks, and fillers, getaways with evocative music and lots of eating in restaurants with boring conversations that were obtuse and weird, going round and round without clarity, or frankly interest. This made the viewing experience boring and frustrating which is a shame because I feel it had a lot of potential.
So far, ep 1 is great! Rowoon looks like a greek god, just perfect, even more gorgeous than Jo Bo Ah which is virtually impossible because she's already so stunning lol Kudos to the hair and make up team!!!
I am actually enjoying this show, I really like all the people in the house, I think they are all talented and interesting. I also really like the panelists. I'm not sure about why the editing is so focussed on Ji Young, and Min Gyu but I'm sure it's about selling the show. Even though it is irritating everyone. I'm also not sure why Ji Young forms these intimate, warm relationships with all the boys and then gets overwhelmed when they all like her. It's pretty easy to set boundaries really. It was weird when Hu Shin got teary when he saw her, and told her had prayed it would be her. Clearly the guy was totally infatuated, how could she not see that. However, I still am enjoying it. It's actually better than some romcoms I have been watching of late. I do have to add that the Ji Young/Min Gyu date in his cafe was so elongated, the water pouring and the banana cake....boring cringe. Given that everyone is raving about Heart Signal 6, I checked it out. Not for me, I find the contestants boring as dishwater, the bit I watched was them standing around the kitchen unable to function as if they were on Mars. I mean "a fried egg???" When they eat, which seems to be most of the time their convo is exceptionally self conscious and tedious. The panelists comment on the most mundane crap, Rainie doesn't stop screeching and Jerry Yan, sorry he's so dull. Soz to disagree, just my opinion. lol
Am I the only one who cannot handle this drama anymore!! No matter how I look at it the girl looks like a pervert!!…
My sentiments exactly, so irritatingly stupid that I dropped it! Obviously the plot of touching someone's backside for a flash of future insight, could be potentially funny, in a slapstick kind of way, if that's the sort of humour that floats your boat. However, looking at comments below, it improves. Which it could only do frankly lol! Great cast though!
People now like to watch this cringe, usual, overrated romance dramas 😏
Yep, agree, rehashed boring as hell tropes with slow mo focus on insanely attractive actors, thin plot, weak acting, escapist garbage...can no longer watch even 2 minutes of those dramas!! Kudos to this one, writing, acting , direction just inspiring.
Another well written post!!A good analysis of the characters and their behaviours. This show certainly isn't for…
Yes, it depends on your focus. For me an element in drama that I enjoy is how someone emerges out of a shit condition, to thrive. If you're into action, special effects etc that's a different take on a show. But I have to say I think DD is doing pretty well on that front as well. Not really understanding why it's not getting the love it deserves lol!
Either you like this genre or not. I for one am totally intrigued by the brain washing/cult idea, the training and exposure to so much violence and horror so that those children's entire being is broken down and numbed is fascinating to me, it happens IRL a lot, and on an individual level as well. It is almost impossible to retrieve any trust or normality following that type of cult brainwashing, so I admire the pace of this as Ro Um potentially is forming a relationship with MY, and the team. The acting is amazing, I'm in awe, the pace is perfect and he's not pushing her too hard, he has the patience to handle her moving forward and withdrawing. It's very smart, well written and insightful. That she could continue to evolve is amazing given the latest shafting episode with the pres. and his revelation. I like the comic relief, because the show is dealing with some tough, dark stuff and could become maudlin and really black. I have to say I like all the characters, they're doing a great job, but I'm so impressed by the leads. Sure the story has flaws, and MY seems to teleport himself all over the place, in an instant, and I'm sure it's not the show for everyone, but it's my no 1 right now. I really like the idea of healing and recovery and getting even. And I think they're doing it so well.
