To those who want the EX to just go away. I don't know how ENA markets their drama but:1) They spent money on…
It's seriously weird how people react to the character as if he/she is real. If the actor is doing a good job, and the writer is good its a device to get the show/plot moving. Though maybe it's a good sign that viewers are so involved, meaning that they are relating very deeply to events etc.
I want this show to get a better rating. It's great to finally get a great romcom that is so well written, great acting, very moving, a bit less cliched and great scope for characters to make mistakes and evolve. A while ago there was stuff like Another Ms Oh, sometimes cringy, but you were so engaged every second, you didn't just sit back or kill time, you were deeply involved and relating, but also entertained and laughing. Hope it keeps on like this.
I'm really enjoying this show. I thought Yoo In Na summing up ML during Karaoke was too hilarious. Also loved, Love to Hate You, Loving the return of the good romcom.
imo, ml's problem is not that he is being cold, it is that he is bad in communication and has a different approach…
Your reaction probably means the writers are doing a good job, you are supposed to think ML is a jerk, so the enemies to romance thing is much more exciting. Of course he will evolve into a great, decent guy. Hint...he's the only one who sang a deep and meaningful love song.
When will you fucking drop this. He served time in prison and was found not guilty. He had sex with a 18 year…
So agree!!! I have thinking exactly the same. He has been called sexual predator, rapist, when his "crime" was sex with a minor of 18., and he did his due diligence in the legal system as a result. I'm assuming that the amazing cast of actors, and directors etc who have agreed to be in various dramas with him - Why Her, Hyena, World of the Married etc etc have moved on, maybe everyone else can as well. And I also hope for the same for Yoo Ah In, and all the disgusting judgement around these accusations of drug abuse, when no one really knows what went on.
Definitely enjoying this series, however one small thing, SWJ has had the same facial expression (a face frozen in misery) in every ep. thus far! Even Song Hye Kyo smiled and even laughed a few times in Glory, and her situation was extremely tough. I think a character in a drama should be a bit multi faceted with different personality dimensions especially across 16 eps.
The entire thing is she never had time for herself. She is shown to be tomboyish from the start. Her not being…
Yes totally, also her look was in direct contrast to the other wealthy very stylish mothers, trying to show how humble , self deprecating and wonderful she was, overdone!! It will be really interesting to see her in Kill Bok soon!

Agree, the worst old ahjumma clothes combo possible. That fringe??? I also was waiting for some kind of makeover, she looked much better at the end as a student with normal stuff on. The other "look" made her appear to be CCY's auntie lol! She's actually a really beautiful woman irl.
I love Nam Haeng Seon. But don’t understand her wardrobe coordinator’s choice of fugly colour and pattern…
Jeon Do Yeon is such a fantastic actress. She's won heaps of awards, some at Cannes Festival. She's amazingly versatile, I've seen her as a gorgeous sexy woman in some roles, she is really beautiful. In this role she's more a kind, modest, quite conservative person, dressed to suit the role with the fringe etc. She's doing an amazing job as that character imo. Very frumpy and awkward as you say. Watch A Man and a Woman with Gong Yoo she's just stunning.
Throwing in my 2 cents...I think Jang Seung Jo is a fantastic actor. I feel like the leads did a great job with maybe not such great material. Personally I thought the leads had a great relationship, despite all their difficulties, and I felt they really loved and cared for each other, based on what was presented in the drama. IRL i've seen people weather much worse than that and stay together. I think they had enough in their relationship to be together and resolve their stuff, maybe he could have gotten over his sister thing, and eventually they could have had kids together. I found the ending really abrupt, and weird, and actually sad, and very unresolved. I thought they were a super cute, adorable couple. Apparently the writers didn't. lol
This series is so bleak I had to ff some of it. But I get the dilemma, it goes on all the time in politics where is a numbers game of weighing up legislation for the betterment of society, versus the individual and their immoral behaviour. Kennedy, Clinton even Martin Luther King to name but a few all have dodgy backgrounds.
I agree though with everyone, why in gods name stay in the house of your rapist for 5 years, just to add to the intense misery of this show. Jin Seung Hee is literally driving me nuts she's so toxic. What are the chances of lurking around the very hospital room where HYJ is telling her story of the rape, WITH the door open!!!! Writers Please!!! Also imo Kim soo Bin is just causing massive amounts of issues, she hasn't got the maturity to consider things, she's just acting on a feeling of outrage and hurt. I guess based on her own miserable background. Was it really necessary for the story to have NJD as a rapist? Surely he was manipulating the events enough to point out what he had to do to pass this legislation without adding that!
It's an interesting question whether KHJ made the right move, that law enabling a voice for sexually assaulted women seems pretty amazing. Hard dilemma.
Could anything be more adorable than this drama. Kindness and personal courage are so important, and this sweet story is all about that. Kudos to everyone who made this series, it's just perfect imo. I love the entire cast, especially Jeon Do Yeon, I have watched several of her dramas and movies, she's beyond amazing, don't know if anyone has seen A Man and a Woman, just phenomenal. Jung Kyung Ho, is wonderful as CCY, his deep love and appreciation of NHS is too lovely, also his respectful restraint and caution. RHS from IBlues is also amazing, all the characters are so well done. Loving it!
Lol. The author of the novel is a genius but writers for this show are ass. I was waiting for the show to end…
I think your explanation about the screen adaptation of the novel is so interesting. To me there was always something wrong or awkward about this drama, I thought the actors did a great job with the material they had, and obviously the direction etc. but it just didn't really gel or make sense. It just did not make sense that the FL would sleep with KP, when she could have opted for a much easier solution. Apparently the convoluted thinking was to protect SS from having been seen to have an affair with SY while also seeing PMK. Given that her father is the boss and could life a misery for him. Also it enabled her to break up with JJH. All of the above is ridiculously complicated and doesn't feel right. SY continuous running away from SS, a metaphor for running away from love etc. because of the fathers affair and the brothers suicide, has always seemed beyond weird to me. It makes so much more sense that she never really liked him. When she finds out that it was in fact her mum who had the affair, she seems to forgive her straight away. However as a narrative, the logic of her hating her father etc and her consequent dysfunctional behaviour has become null and void. The whole premise of her weird reluctant behaviour towards SS is wiped out. I much prefer that original story you outlined from the book. This also means that everyone who has posted about this drama, in such a well-meaning way, has had to really deal with a basically crap, illogical story. LOL.
Breaking News After the Overwhelming ratings for this drama, the writer and Director said in a news conference…
Gee, these characters in their 60's should make for an even more exciting story line, with possible hearing loss, arthritis and memory loss...the pace will be even more riveting.
