Taiwan/China is loving this stepbrother to lovers trope lately. Maybe because The On1y One and Unknown were so popular, they want to keep the momentum. But though I enjoyed their interactions in MYATB, I feel a little more disconnected in this one. But it was just the first episode, so maybe it’ll connect better in the next one? But of course there’s a truck scene. At least the truck isn’t white, I guess. Red for a change of pace.
I really enjoyed watching it. And talking about the plot, it's a tipe of wake up call. Once again I give my opinion:…
I agree. Rapists, especially child rapists, should have no chance of redemption. That’s the one crime I feel should be a death sentence. No delays. They should never be allowed back into society, nor should money be wasted on them in prison. I wish this would change within the justice system worldwide.
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Yes, there were definitely some disturbing scenes (I know it must have been hard for the actors to portray that evil side of the humanity), but overall I did enjoy the thorough a$$ whooping the bad guys got and Jeong Do’s character development and growth when he found his purpose. His friends were funny and overall a good and supportive group of guys. I loved the bond between Jeong Do and Sun Min. The BBQ scene with him, Jeong Do, ans his friends was both funny and touching.
And I really do love Kim WooBin. I have enjoyed his shows since Uncontrollably Fond (still can’t move on from that- it’s always in the back of my mind, popping up randomly). I look forward to his next series or movie.
There is so much talent on this show, it’s so fun to watch. And also my heart hurts for each contestant that doesn’t win and especially for those eliminated. It hurts each time you don’t achieve your dream. I wish all of these guys would form groups. They are all so great to watch. It’s always hard for me to only pick 7 when I vote.
I’ve been watching the YouTube subs when they’re uploaded, but can anyone tell me where you watch when it airs?
I don’t think it’s “hate” per se. More like realistically feeling let down with the second episode. I think many of us know this series is supposed to be silly, but it can still have a better story, more cohesive editing, and better acting. The characters have no closeness.
I don’t know. after episode 2, something’s missing.
Episode 2 was definitely a let-down from episode 1, which was cute, silly, and fun- even if it had flaws. But 2? I felt like I could skip 90% of it and still be fine. I did end up 10sec skipping through a lot of it. It was, as many have said, a let down. The one NC scene felt like a random throw in to try to keep people in who may otherwise drop after episode 2. But in this case, I don’t feel chemistry with the second MLs, or any real closeness between them, so it just comes out of left field. I don’t really feel any closeness with any of them at this point, to be honest. I definitely don’t believe anyone has a secret crush on anyone. I also think the age and cultural differences of the MLs is enough that they don’t need to add to it by throwing an possibly scheming 3rd party rich guy with sus motives. Seems a bit much for this little show to handle. I think instead of Sangmin being all innocent and wide-eyed like he has no thoughts, he would have been better written and more mature and mysterious/secretive and alluring. His character feels forced innocent and forced young, if that makes sense? I do still very much love Petch’s smile. His character does seem more appropriately 20 though.
Maybe episode 3 will be better? I understand they’re all new actors. Maybe as the show goes on they’ll catch their groove and be naturally closer so more comfortable? I still do very much appreciate the language barrier/differences being portrayed more realistically though.
Just watched the special episode. Come to Canada and get married!!!!I loved the special episode but it feels kind…
I need another season. And a movie like My Beautiful Man. This series was so good! You’re right that it does seem a little open-ended, like they may or may not continue the series. It would be great to see Minase come out to his friends and them accept him. And to his parents, especially his mom.
This series delivered everything I wanted. Amazing storytelling, soundtrack, character growth, and I love everything about it tbh. It’ll definitely be a multi-rewatch like some of my other super favorite Japanese BLs. I hope we see these to MLs in future BLs. Wiulsnt it be nice if they did like My Beautiful Man and made a S2 and movie? Then I’d be in heaven.
Earth is damn near 30 years old. Wabisabi is not giving him anything that he's not choosing himself. He doesn't…
I agree. Whenever I comment on my opinions on series in this app or other SNS platforms, I consider that the people themselves may see it and ensure I am not hurtful. Constructive criticism serves a purpose. I guess hating also does for the one doing the hating, but it’s also just unnecessary and makes the hater look bad imo. I hope Earth gets the chance to show his potential and grow elsewhere when his contract is up.
I agree with you. Who knew we needed this? But I thoroughly enjoyed myself watching it. So unserious and funny! These two new actors did well as MLs. 😊
OMG I’m glad I waited until all episodes were done because I can binge this. I just finished Episode 1 and I love it. Super cute. I’m actually impressed with Jay’s acting, especially since he’s so new. He really seems like his animal in many of his mannerisms. He’s very natural; he owns his role so the story flows. At least, so far. And Ben is the same. I love how he portrays Sun as all stalker-y with Junior. And the gulps when he’s near Junior like he’s hungry (but we don’t know what for yet- pretending not to know the synopsis for now 😉). I wish I didn’t have to go to work so I could keep watching the rest. Boo for Mondays.
And I really do love Kim WooBin. I have enjoyed his shows since Uncontrollably Fond (still can’t move on from that- it’s always in the back of my mind, popping up randomly). I look forward to his next series or movie.
