I agree with all your scores in the different categories for this show. The only thing different was that I gave it an overall score of 7 with all the pointed being deducted due to the storyline and directing,
Stories of 3 adult relationships in one family and their target women....I watched this show to see more of Kim Young Kwang's works. It was an added bonus that Sungjea was in this too. (thankfully) It was going good for awhile then its like is got stuck in a groove on a bad record for too many episodes to the point where it became depressing to watch at times. It was hard to watch after about 8 eps.
All the women were negative in this show, although ultimately there was some guy reason behind at least a couple of them. The negativity displayed by the woman w/the kid is so out of proportion to what happened in their relationship that i could only see her as a passive-aggressive person that projected her pronounced issues onto her boyfriend from 10 yrs ago and still cant get over them. I couldn't related to or bear this relationship and had to FFW thru their scenes thru the end. Sungjae was a scene-stealer all throughout this show and what kept me engaged when the show became depressing.
The main leads.... i can see why that girl has a chip on her shoulder but I am glad they worked thru it. Kim Young Kwang was excellent in all capacities of emotions he played. I couldn't relate to the female lead worrying so much about the impact of their relationship on their friends to the point of ending her relationship with the lead...that was too much. But luckily it ended well.
In general, this show had good acting by the males and the kid...and the one female lead (Kyung Soo Jin), but the show was overly depressing to the point were I can't give it more than a 7/10 with all points being deducted for the story and the directing.
pretty good ep 3, but i am not so sure i'm that interested in the major plot to be our main male lead trying to find who blocked the road the night his buddy got hurt. i hope this isn't his quest for 13 more eps. its not compelling enough. i am interested in the subplots and will watch a couple more but am worried. Maybe a big shot of romance will help. I do like the female lead, she's strong.
Good story, good relationships. The only thing i didn't gel with was the musical layer in this. there was already enough facets to this story to try to assimilate. I was confused a bit by who exactly was "caught" in the end, but i believe i get it.
i watched just to watch a KDW work. I couldn't related to the casting for the female lead. I couldn't for the life of me see what was attractive about her...either looks or charm...enough for there to be a whirlwind of attraction to her by both the lead males. Understandably, KDW's character liked her since he was little I guess. It threw me off so much i had a hard time focusing on the film. It is an interesting story but also weird since it has an element of a bro/sis thing going on. Can i recommend this film? No. Also, the show should be described as a tragedy although i that would be a spoiler I suppose.
A story about co-dependence, obsessiveness, selfishness, passive-aggressiveness and finally revenge. Its a classic drama but it is long and drawn out in so many places...so much waiting...so much repetitiveness to the behaviors their are trying to convey in the story when I, the viewer, got it the first couple of times you showed it. The acting was great and compelling. You get attached to the characters and are willing to forgo all of the above to root for and hope to see that the couple get together somehow in the end. The ending worked for me. I did not cry buckets because i was so worn out watching the drama that i couldn't draw that level of emotion. While it was NOT predictable, it was an ending that made sense (except for the country the ending took place) . 7/10
ep 13/14:That scene where the 2nd lead said to his father that he had no feelings for her....got to me! I too am gut-wrenched for him.
On the other hand, I love it when the crown prince flexes his muscles and makes surprise moves like he just did. Looking fwd to tonite!! At last his identity is revealed.
Talk about alignment methods. wow. in the back of the room it looked like even the woman cult leader lady was surprised a bit though by his method. i'll be interested to see where that goes from that perspective.
Very upsetting...even nauseating episode. I wonder what those boys did to him in the bathroom. Not clear. Did they rape him? Or just take compromising pictures of him? With the girl being there from their gang, i am thinking they didn't rape him but it sure felt like thats what happened.
i don't know how Sang Hwan gets back in her good graces after basically not helping to save them on the roof. I guess he will go all out to rescue her later without hesitation the next time.
Woo Do Hwan's character is one I obviously have hung my hat on so far.
Will watch the next eps until i can't take it anymore. sigh...
I think while Dol Mok and her were at her house overnite, they should have had some kind of brief or accidental kiss. like a reply 1988 kiss when they were sleeping head to head. this relationship has been moving at such a snails pace... i feel like it was an opportunity missed.
thanks for this! nice job! i first took note of him in Pinocchio although i had seen him in a few other things.... but then really noticed him and fell for him in Sweet Stranger and Me. I think he was excellent in that although i don't like the lead actress in anything she does. It was a good story worth watching independent of her. His best role for sure is Lookout.
