My problem with the ending wasn't who she ended up with but what they did with the actual ending. My reaction to the last ep...is that they needed one more ep to cover the stuff we wanted to see! The whole time i was thinking we were running out of time to see the wedding we wanted to see! and we didn't get to see them share that they were dating...what a let down. I also wanted to see them circle back at some point and show the conversation that jung hwan and Taek had at the restaurant at the air force base. Good show overall, but i do feel like there's some impt pieces to the viewer missing.
Back to your article, i thought the third reason jung hwan had issues is because I think he had a friendship with Taek and I think he may have had an internal battle trying to evaluate whether Taek needed her more. Just a thought.
Thanks for doing an article on this. With as many eps as I invested in the show, I was let down by the ending, but it didn't destroy my appreciation for the show. It is one of a kind.
I hate that Seo Noh had to die! I was kind of hoping that that wench i can't stand, Myung Hye, would declare herself the leader. I guess, regardless, it would have been hard to claim there were no accomplices though... and Seo Noh would have stepped up to die with her anyway.
I thought the Prince was racing to get there to announce he was the leader and protect his friends, so I was surprised as he stood there and watched Seo Noh get beheaded.
Its gonna be a long week waiting for the next episodes. :(
The part i was thrown off about was when her detective partner said "He died"....i couldn't tell if she was imagining the love fight at the end or if it was real. Regardless, it was excellent. I think the line by that guy at the end saying that "He came" just didn't fit the flow or elegance of the preceding scenes. Made it more base. Otherwise, overall, cool/intriguing movie. I wish there were more scenes with our couple outside of fighting.
Is it just me? Half the time I don't know what they are talking about and i keep thinking...did i miss an episode? The script is all over the map..leaping from subject to subject without any transition. I am trying to keep up with what the heck is going on (and why) but it sure makes me dizzy. I do like the romantic-ish spurts here and there...i think the 2 leads have decent chemistry. I get the overall story so far, its just the dialogue feels like it was written by someone with A.D.D.
What a nice surprise mini-drama (a KBS 4 ep special). I've had this on my to-do list for awhile as I was researching more works by Kwak Dong Yeon -- he's they actor who played the ninja-like body guard to the crown prince in Love In the Moonlight. He really caught my attention (and i am sure many other's) and hope to see him in lots more stuff. This drama is a great story where he plays the lead in a high school setting. its a pleasure to watch all the other actors around him. It made all these scenes even stronger. I didn't even realize before I started that these folks were in it since it had been on my Plan to Watch list for so long.
Noteable other actors in it:
Choi Tae Joon - very hot and great acting in this - fr Suspicious Partner, Missing 9, etc.
Lee Se Young - b4 she went on a no-carb diet - female lead in The Best Hit
Yoon Park - 2nd male lead from Introverted Boss (aka Shy Boss)
Choi Tae Joon was so good in this, I would rewatch this just to see him play this particular role again.

@harukae - I am watching both Ruler of Mask and Queen for 7 Days. To give you my benchmark, I'd say that Qfor7Days was compelling instantly from the first ep. Its never had a slow moment, and the passion, angst, and acting by al the leads is at least twice as better, if not 5x better. It swooped in and became my number 1 show.
The two male leads are great. The female lead is whats causing me to struggle to watch the show. Her facial expressions and general demeanor she is trying to convey (comedic/clumsy/airheadish) is so forced that one can barely call it acting. she's good at crying faces though, but don't think i am going to make it. I am watching this for Lee Dong Gun. He's good in this, but the one capturing my attention is the other lead male in the triangle: Park Shin Yang. I am going to look for some other things he's in.
i'm not giving up yet, if that helps! Unless something is really awful, i usually give it a lot of chances. With so many eps in this, it has me worried that about how long its gonna take to capture my full attention.
@namopanik - i'm hearin ya...i am feeling this way verbatim...although i am only on ep 7. Maybe i have great expectations because of its rating. But, Queen for 7 Days is putting this to shame right now.
ep 12: this is the first time i am saying i am disappointed a bit with the show. Am disappointed with this whole chain of events leading to the lack of consummation of the marriage. Hope this doesn't drag on and on. Stopping them in the middle of when they were finally going to get to it really was a ridiculous move by the script writers IMO. It felt like they were just playing with the viewers. Also, i am confused as to why they are running around trying to meet with the father/scribe when the prince already knows he needs to see his wife's back. What a revelation.
