Like Chang Ge, she always had the gift of the gob, so to speak, and she could talk people over, and under, round the bend. But she's no villain.
She's anger and tragedy.
Sometime, early on, she transferred her anger with the Sui, perverted old men, who sold her like cattle, onto the first best thing. Killing men who used her, or just killing men, would barely soothe a vandalised and ravaged girl.
It would have been a better ending, had she just cracked at the end.
