General and I.She's a strategist, he's a General. She beats him, the first time they meet too hahaShe does a Chang…
He is undefeated, I believe. She beats him several times, in various ways.
He is a General, so a battlefield strategist, like A'sun. She uses environment and psychology against opponents.
Chang Ge, uses a river against an army, at one point. This is not the first time I've seen this done in a drama, Bai Ping Ting does it first.
They're both completely equal, although they gave her no martial arts knowledge, so her body isn't strong.
Her character is supposed to be the looks of an Immortal, so she looks like a 'toy', it makes her unassuming, and very dangerous. She's the playmate/companion/maid, of the son of a nobleman, so she's had certain upbringing. It enables her to go anywhere with him, nobody the wiser that she's the brains in the group.
You could physically force her to do anything, at any point, her mind wouldn't help her there. But she'd have a plan to have you dead.
She nearly drowns his army, so he identifies her quickly, and it's quite funny from there-on out.
I can't watch her in anything else, I like her as Bai Ping Ting, because BPT looks and acts like that, but her mind is a dark place.
Yes he adores her. They both spend a lot of time scheming and plotting and sometimes the plots clash, but there's always a lot of plotting, from his side, to keep her safe, and she him. She has more than 1 agenda, like Chang Ge. Things aren't always what they seem. There is a tragic character, not a woman for once! but a man. He showcases where living a life for revenge, ultimately leads you.
I skimmed ep2 of G and I, and I remembered some stuff. It's as if they've borrowed some of the more interesting aspects of that ML, for TLB, or it's coincidence, maybe it's just desirable ML traits? Both ML keep saying 'interesting', when it comes to FL.
Nobody is as wholesome as A'sun, he was written that way.
No one can compare with our A’Sun but can you recommend a drama with a similar ML? I’m trying to move on but…
General and I.
She's a strategist, he's a General. She beats him, the first time they meet too haha She does a Chang Ge, or Chang Ge mimics her, you'll know it, when you see it.
Haha, Liu Haikuan said that Wu Lei refused to use any prop to look taller. In the scene with Langlang he was suggested…
Shifu rarely stands with straight back. I guess it's to disarm people around him, but also to appear weaker than he is. It serves in the drama, cause TALL
It is amazing how this comments section is still on fire, even though the drama has ended a week ago. TLB has…
I think, a lot of the fascination with TU, was that many, MANY wanted to see how far China would go with this thinly veiled LGBT drama. The MC is powerful, and he pulls a lot of straight men, as reading cultivation novels, is HUGE in Asia.
I've started a drabble discussion thread, where we can submit our TLB drabbles, or fanfics, whatever floats your eggs! So scroll up above, to Discussions forum, and drop your stuff in the thread!
You ALL must participate.
Pick a character, write from their perspective, keep in character as much as possible AFTER the end, is the prompt!
Same here. I'd be happy with some kind of epilogue/special episode(s): 1, 2 or 3 episodes. We'll see their kids…
I'm OK with most of this.
Although, Khan's life is no longer in immediate danger, he never regained the ability to speak, and he has good and bad days, where he sometimes can take a few steps unaided, but he uses a wheelchair often. Although he's been working hard to regain some mobility, His arms work just fine! Thank you! Chang Ge insists on spoon feeding him oxtail soup, on the days he's bed ridden.
She enjoys that he cannot snap back at her, and completely ignores vicious looks cast her way, because they're for show.
It's all in their daily repertoire, she is a woman after all, and Khan learned the hard way, all women are vicious!
When he finishes his soup, which he could have spoon up himself, really. She turns away momentarily, to place the bowl on the small table, next to his bed.
In the dark His eyes soften, considerably, and the corners of his mouth twitch upwards, ever so slightly.
He hears she's vicious, a real killer. From the look on his child's face, she must be a truly glorious, stunning creature, plotting the demise of enemies.
He scoffs under his breath, This causes him to cough slightly, and lucky is that, because Chang Ge is just about to turn back towards him.
He feels, he won't be able to hide his fondness of her, from her, for much longer.
Chang Ge is happy, if the old Wolf is happy.
She'll continue this game of charades that he enjoys.
She enjoys talking AT him, while he pretends to detest her presence by his bedside.
She enjoys feeding him soup, while he clearly exaggerates his condition, just so
These are the roles they play. This is the quiet corner of the evening,
Just two people enjoying each other's company.
The darkness of the night softens shadows, softens white little lies further. What they do is harmless.
where are these videos? I would like to watch them with improved substitles
These subtitles are posted on Subscene. You just load the subs with the episodes you've downloaded. In VLC for instance, there's an option to select .srt or whatever sub file extension.
There's usually hypocrisy, towards women. Double standards.
Men have always been more vicious, killed much more people, but women are villainized harder for it. Because we bear children. Men don't like seeing themselves reflected in women, women are supposed to be softer, weaker sex, who as life bringers, are supposed to be incapable of the 'evil of men'.
Thing is, give any individual the motivation to do great evil, they will.
Did Khatun do it for family? She'd like to say so, I'm sure it was something close to that, at the start. I think the young girl, she was once, promised herself, she'd see all these old, perverted, scheming men dead, at all costs, for how they used her. She wasn't capable of loving a son, had he been a girl, possibly, but she couldn't love her son, just idealized the idea of being a mother, a mother still capable of love.
Historical women are still villainized, from Empress of China to Joan of Arc, for just being on par with men. She wouldn't bow, wouldn't be broken-in, by husband after husband, why wouldn't she kill them all. Even if She'er's dad was kind, I'm sorry, but what is that to her?
Bird eggs, remember to vote on WeChat! We are about to be overtaken by the second place. After so many days, we must not let our efforts fall short! There are nine days left. Perseverance is victory. You have one vote, I have one vote, and Kafal will make his debut tomorrow. Champions can be promoted, which is very valuable!
May I ask the origin of your term 'kitchen sink'? :D just an analogy? so in what way? In your comments, I laugh…
It's very british, to 'throw everything but kitchen sink' means 'everything', or 'everything you can think of'. So everyone who's anyone to CG turns up for her, in this sense of the meaning, everyone.. except her kitchen sink.
Ah. You are absolutely right!! Those types of game scenes are usually scenes that can be fastened forward (though…
At the time, I was actually hoping, when A'sun passed her the ball, that she would end up teaching the kids. But she just passed the kids the ball. I was hoping, she was going to drive A'sun into a frenzy and he would have to run and jump into a river to cool off. A'sun would try to be inconspicuous, but watch her every move. More eye porn.
They are totally not at all formal with each other throughout the show. They were guarded about their identities…
According to Shimin's reaction, she also hated to read, so she wouldn't have picked up a book and read romance lines there either. It was the insinuation that she would read, that caused him to stare down Li Jing ahahaha
Gender roles, according to Chang Ge; Father's many women were beautiful, graceful and kind But what is that to me? MEn and brothers protect their women, country, they strategise and fight in wars. But what is that to me?
Being such a blank piece of paper, when it came to gender norms, she could develop a personality unique to herself, as nobody was ever interested in forcing this unfortunate child, born of rape, to live a forced life, to conform to anything. Even her father, Crown Prince, never enforced gender norms, because of what we know now, as immense guilt.
The snow walk scene is one of the most iconic scenes for this drama. Changge changed the way she spoke, as if…
Her humiliation is the price for her life. When weighed against each other, humiliation isn't such a big deal. Gongsun Heng just put himself through the same thing, how could she weather any less?
Is it worth it? Yes. because the people are the country, and the country is it's people, and these people are alive to hate her.
By this point, he already knows, It's OK if she hates him, as long as she's alive to hate him. He just wants a world with her in it.
Leo explains, in an interview, to both Reba and us; When A'sun asks Chang Ge, if she'd considered the Grasslands, and she says she knows nothing of the Grasslands, she also has no relations there. 'You know me.' Those three simple words knock Mujin into shock, and A'do is a little 'hold on!' Leo says; 'This was A'sun's heart, his confession'.
Ah. You are absolutely right!! Those types of game scenes are usually scenes that can be fastened forward (though…
I am absolutely certain, A'sun has never lost in his life.
Because, as an adopted son of the Khan, losing would make big fish take a bite, and he had to protect his mother, so he couldn't afford a loss. I believe he didn't expect to have to put his life on the line, to win this Cuju game haha By the time he realises, she's already scored the final goal.
I believe, if they were to have a serious game, now, that they'd be much more equal on the field. She kind of whoops his ass, because he doesn't realise her skill level, until it's too late.
Also, he's assessing the Chang 'An youth, at the same time.
She beats him several times, in various ways.
He is a General, so a battlefield strategist, like A'sun.
