So now we’ve got a stalker in the mix... interesting turn!
When she was confronting Junseo after hitting the stalker, those dead eyes said everything. You could literally see the realization dawn on him and he finally understood just how far she is capable of going. I mean he knew but I guess saw it with his own eyes...
And oh great her dad is back at her place again. Why do I have this feeling she is going to kill him? Not that he doesn’t have it coming, but still.
“Ah-jin, sometimes you scare me.” Boy, you should be scared and you know it! The level of delusional devotion here is actually impressive. 😂 I am genuinely curious how far he is going to make it before everything crashes down.
She threw Jun-seo under the bus? Wow. Technically, she just wants his dad out of the picture and seems perfectly fine using the café owner to do it. Another beautiful man about to be royally doomed lmao.
Her plan is almost too elaborated not to work though I doubt she accounted for Jun-seo’s release. Or maybe she did? My guess is still on the baseball guy killing her dad and here we go and He did it.
I am not exactly shocked, but I do feel bad for him. He genuinely cared for her and honestly, they could have easily claimed self-defense instead of this wild run. (The scene where he runs away)
But I guess we will see where it all goes from here in ep 4.
One thing I found really surprising or maybe just fascinating is how she has this perfectly curated image of what kind of people everyone is. Good person, bad person, useful person lol she has got them all neatly labeled in her disturbed mental filing cabinet. And she plays them like chess pieces. Whether it’s the stalker or the baseball guy or Junseo, everyone is a tool in her little grand plan.
I saw someone on X say she’s just a “delusional victim of parental abuse" and honestly NO. ABSOLUTELY NOT. SHE KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT SHE IS DOING and precisely how her actions will ripple through everyone around her. Don’t go handing her a sympathy card just because she is a Kdrama lead lmao. She is a villan and I am enjoying this journey or whatever she is on. Any ways...
Junseo and Ah Jin are step-siblings?! LMFAOOO I did NOT see that coming. And the poor child...she really hit the jackpot of terrible parents. Her biological ones were/are awful and the stepmom isn’t exactly winning any awards either. Not evil for now, maybe but definitely not smart.
Ah Jin’s father, though… ugh. He just leaves such a bad taste in my mouth. That man is for the streets.
And the whole thing at school...Seung Hui, girl, if I were you, I’d be watching my back. That look Ah Jin gave her? Ohhhh boy.
Are all the adults in this drama trash? Like, I am not defending the kids and their twisted choices, but wow their parents really set them up for trauma. Jae Oh, especially I actually feel bad for him.
“You were a victim long before this. Use that to your advantage. Cry, tremble, and pretend you’re sorry.”
She said that with a straight face and it genuinely threw me off. The whole scene was disturbingly sad. I believe there is usually a sliver of light somewhere, but with her? Nothing. Just pitch-black manipulation. Maybe I am judging too harshly but wow.
And Junseo… my sweet little boy. You are so not ready for the emotional rollercoaster you have signed up for.
Ah Jin’s dad, again...absolute trash. Just put an “X” on him already girl. The entire dramaland would back you up. The entire sequence of him beating her was just sickening!
The child actress deserves an Oscar. That confrontation with Junseo’s mother about his father was chilling. The innocent smile, those wide eyes...she nailed it. And the way she manipulates everyone whether it is kids or adults is terrifyingly brilliant.
“You would be wise to even think about sending me to the orphanage.” Like, excuse me, little miss power move! And then fake dying and jumping to prove a point? Iconic and fuckin' unhinged in equal measure. Like I don't know whether to praise her for how smart and crafty she is as a character or be terrified of what is to come when she becomes an adult.
And wait do we have a new X already?! 👀 Or is this Kim Jae Oh’s replacement? Either way, more hot men on screen...no complaints! 🔥🔥
Overall, again a good episode! We see more layers of her twisted self! I know I sound like a broken record, but every time I start to sympathize with her, she does something that completely throws me off. It’s honestly hard to believe a child’s brain could function that strategically! What she pulled off as a kid shocked me way more than anything she did as a teen lmao.
Thank you. Yours too. I haven't opened spoilers but can't wait to catch up and interact 🔥
Good review gurl! ❤️🔥
I think there were too many flashbacks in last 2 episodes and also this could have been better with 8 eps instead of 6 !
But I loved it! 🥰❤️
I will check out your review too 🔥
Baek Ah Jin is officially giving full-blown psychopath energy.
“The noisiest one dies first” girl is out here dropping death threats in broad daylight like it’s casual conversation 😂
Yun Jun Seo… oh boy. He’s doomed, isn’t he? The way he looks at our little Miss Psycho, yeah, that’s not ending well.
And Seong Hui being her current “X”?! Honestly, the way she just threw water in the washroom like it was the easiest thing in the world...liks were are these conveniently placed buckets in real life and how is no one batting an eye at that lmao.
Also, Jun Seo pretending with Seong Hui just because she saw Ah Jin with Kim Jae O. Lol it does fishy! Either he is a jealous fool or Ah jin is planning something big.
But Ah Jin, oh my word. The manipulation, the planning, the execution. The whole big plan was just ... I do think she went a little extreme but ig this is how her character is! She is TERRIFYINGLY good at "this" (idk what "this" is at the moment... Jealousy , psychopathy, cry for help in the most distrubing way lol) The way she flips from sweet to sinister in seconds. Kim Yoo Jung is absolutely nailing this role. The smirks, the hollow eyes, the eerie calm... chef's kiss.
Finished the first episode and I am totally hooked. Completely. Can’t wait to meet all her “X”s and watch the chaos and havoc unfold. Two boys already at her beck and call. She is gonna burn the whole world down and I am so here for it.
Also, do I feel sympathy for her ? Ummmm... Yes. No child should be allowed to experience that but that does justify what is doing or she is about to do? No.
But it's been a while since I have met a good deranged character...so bring it on! 🔥
I will watch it and let you know ♥️ your Reccs are always welcome 🥰
Defang 2: Haha, I saw that. I logged into MDL after five days and everyone was already talking about it, and I love that. I really enjoyed the first season, Dylan being one of the reasons but also the plot itself, so I’m thrilled we’re getting a second one. It honestly makes me smile when people mention Dylan and immediately think of me. That’s such a fun little legacy to have, lol.🤭
And thank you for the award. ❤️
We didn't get any of them later in the episodes , so dropping was a good choice! Lol!
But yes the romance... Somehow it was too much but then again not enough or should I say polished to hide the flaws!
I kinda feel sad that I had to rate this low because I was waiting for Boun Prem comeback but it is what it is , I guess!
Thank you for reading my review! It's always a pleasure interacting with you! ♥️
And agree about Khem's delivery! The way I was waiting for tears in few scenes ... Lol! I know it's his first role and I hope he improves moving forward because Master and the others were really good !
Thank you for reading my review Elbee! ♥️ Always a pleasure to hear your thoughts !
And my question is why couldn't they split the ep in 2 but nevermind!
I did enjoy it overall but yes let's not normalise this length 😭
Ultimately there are no good villains—just a bunch of spoiled brats and their over-indulgent parents, all victims of their own deluded ambitions and warped sense of justice. >> Agreed! I found all the antagonists’ reasons for revenge pretty weak and unconvincing. Starting with PM. His son was charged with treason and he was actually planning one. I mean it wasn't like he was wrongly accused of something!
Jingyan slowly grew on me too! Lol, he was unhinged in the best possible way! I still don’t understand how we could save the princess but not him!
Great review! Lol, I have always loved your wit in comments and reviews. it’s always refreshing to read your takes! :))
