Title All of Us Are Dead Spoiler
unpopular opinion: i don't get the hype abt namra? except the fact that shes a half-zombie, theres really nothing…
"Archery girl" Ha Ri is certainly more remarkable because of her strength as a regular human being. She is a living example of the fact that there is nothing an ordinary human cannot do, that a hero can come from anywhere. However, the said power comes only from her bow and arrow, which means there's "nothing (else) special about her." These are not my own thoughts, I am only pointing out the absurdity of your comment in discounting a certain character's struggle.

Now on to why Nam Ra has become so popular with the audience. Nam Ra is the show's shining beacon of light. She is living hope that it is possible to cross over to the dark side, and still maintain your humanity. As for her just standing there and not helping people out, were we watching the same show? Her situation as a half-zombie isn't simple at all, and things are hardly black and white ever. If you remember, aggression is the number one driving force of the conversion process, and engaging in a full-blown fight (which she did multiple times) would have accelerated the rate at which the virus spread within her. Her heightened sense of hearing also got everyone out of multiple shambles (including getting bombed to death), but of course, since she's not throwing punches around, why would that ever be appreciated.

This is why nuance in writing is something that is often overlooked at the expense of shock value and "cool" sequences. It is also the reason why I rated this show lower than I would have, because a lot of promising plot points were either never explored or abandoned at a dead end. Plot points that would have benefited from screentime much more than than the overstretched, lukewarm romance between On Jo and Cheong San. These two were great as friends, and it would have set an amazing precedent in dramaland for them to stay that way. I'm sorry if this last paragraph is all over the place. It has more to do with me just ranting in general about the demerits of the show, and not about your comment specifically.

Great article! I scored 9/12, or if I give one more to myself based on sheer technicality, 10/12. I'm glad that all those hours spent on scouring through MDL synopses didn't go to waste. My parents will be proud.

So I went back to the episode and this exchange between Gorya and Kaning bothered me so much, it's upsetting me.…
Scenes like this date the story so much that it really ruins the entire watching experience. Especially with Kaning who's been Gorya's rock outside of school, suddenly showing up with this random af boyfriend who is a walking red flag. I understand the need to stay true to the original works, but problematic things like these being depicted in 2021/2022 just make the entire story look way more dated than it is. Might as well take the whole thing and set it like a retro historical in the time period it was actually first released in (1992). That would make a lot of the plot lines and character arcs make more sense. Because here every time someone does something that no one in today's age would, I just feel like pulling my hair out.

Please drama people, don't change her character to be a genius "Mary Sue" character.
I am ready to witness complete destruction of the FL's character based solely on how much they will have altered the storyline. At the same time, I kind of really want to see how it will turn out because of the same reasons. I just wish they don't turn it into a happy-go-lucky romcom

The reader who read the original novel mentioned that Ding Yu Xi character is cunning and quite jerk too like…
Actually, the ML in the novel did have a hand in destroying his wife's entire clan. The only reason why it didn't have such an impact on the story is because his wife (Nie Sang Yu) was possessed by someone from modern day (Ji Man), and therefore, even if she felt sorrow and anger and to an extent took revenge, it still was not the same as the betrayal Xiao Feng, the princess in GMP felt.

Also to add to the fact, Xiao Feng and Cheng Yin had loved each other from before he killed her grandfather. In DISB, Ji Man never really loved the ML until the very end, her emotions would only briefly be clouded because of NSY, whose body she was possessing. The ML in DISB fell in love with his "wife" only after she completely changed, that is, he fell in love much later, and with Ji Man, and not his actual wife Nie Sang Yu, the poor soul. So in my books at least, the Marquis from DISB is in many ways much worse than Li Cheng Yin.

Sorry if any of this gets too confusing to understand.

I am still in the early part of the book, but I can already tell some of the changes too. It is rather concerning...
Good luck with it! It's going to be pretty great till you get to the 300 mark, then it slows down a bit but it'll pick up so hang in there.

Also, I don't know whether to feel excited for getting a completely new story or disappointed for not getting the novel's story here. I just hope it doesn't become like all other dramas *sigh*

Ding YuXi is a serious actor and he always takes his role seriously. I first saw him on "I Actor" and was wowed…
I get you completely because unlike popular opinion, I too, really like messed up characters like this. It is very entertaining to watch them on screen and see what goes on inside their head. I really loved the character of the Marquis in the novel, he was very a very layered individual.

If the stars align well in Chinese dramaland, a poster is a very good omen that the drama might air in the next…
Only time will tell because there were no twins involved in the original novel

I have watched his previous works and also watched him in variety shows, I really really like him and I think he most certainly can nail the part of the ML if he wants to. However, I think since the script has been altered so much he probably won't have to play the role that the original ML was, because that guy was the most hated character in the story haha.

I havent read the novel, would tell me me why he is complicated in the novel? With different personalities something…
I completely agree with you. The harem will most definitely be written out because some (read most) of the things that happen as a result of it are just too crazy to be aired LMAO.

I've watched only like a handful of cdramas. Is the poster release a sign that the drama is gonna air soon? Like…
If the stars align well in Chinese dramaland, a poster is a very good omen that the drama might air in the next few months.

However, even dramas with scheduled airing dates get pushed back way too often so don't hold your breath. Here's to hoping this airs soon.

I wonder if we'll even get some version of Ning Ming Jie here, I would really miss his character otherwise. Also, now that there is no Nie Sang Yu, my heart hurts thinking of all the characters that were written out that would otherwise be so important. Come to think of it, almost 60-70% of the story must have been altered entirely just because of the Nie clan now being irrelevant.

Can't believe I'll be one of the "grumps who've read the novel and therefore must point out every single plot deviation/hole like it's their birthright" here xD

I'm excited for this to air, I've waited too long for it.

Song Kang is a pretty good actor...😒
I love how if someone says they dislike his acting, you call them biased, but you very adamantly and quite aggressively advocating for his "acting skills" is not biased?

Also, having biases is perfectly normal, it is actually quite impossible to be completely objective in this day and age. As long as you don't let these biases cloud your judgement, you're good to go, but seeing how you're getting so worked up over mere MDL comments, maybe dial back on your biases a bit?
