This story could’ve been told and 20 episodes. It’s just too much Of the same thing over and over
This is a weekend family drama, so tightly written scripts are not the producer's main priority. What matters is how long you can keep people coming back to watch the same old stories they've grown up with.
One of the reasons why this drama is gaining so much traction is because its story is progressing at a way tighter pace than you'd expect from your regular weekend drama which is a huge improvement in terms of storytelling.
So if you're watching a weekend drama for the first time, I'd recommend exercising a bit more patience as almost all of these get extremely tedious and repetitive as they progress. As someone who's seen quite a few of these, this drama is progressing at a lightning fast pace honestly xD
Dan Dan is easily emotional but she is also pretty blunt regarding her feelings. It's refreshing to see the two…
Right? The entire time throughout episode 13 and 14, I thought to myself, wow, that's one forward young lady (and I'm younger than her character lmao) but it truly is refreshing to see, and it does have a charm similar to some of the older family kdramas.
I haven't waited for an airing drama like this in YEARS! It is so so so refreshing despite all its tropes, I am extremely attached to this drama.
The way Young Guk blew up at his Stepmom this episode was glorious, the dialogue was amazing, Ji Hyun Woo is a king!
Also unpopular opinion, but I really love Dae Bum and Se Ryeon's scenes. Their dynamic, while super cliche, is still so heartwarming and I think both the actors have such a lovely chemistry and longing in their eyes for each other. I just love it.
Ahhhhh how will I wait another week for the next part gosh!
I'm interested but is the ML interesting (not bland)? And the whole everything is solved fast is kinda .. i want…
For the first time ever (I think), the male lead in a weekend soap opera is not passive or fickle and I'm all for it. He is not manipulated by those around him and instead handles things on his own
I thought i had read somewhere that korean broadcast stations were done with these long family makjang type dramas?…
About the way the ML lead speaks, it's very archetypal and characteristic of an aristocratic, well-read, and highly disciplined person. He's also the only sane adult in his family surrounded by screeching vultures so yeah, that makes him more out of place than you'd expect. Love you comparing his style to Heechul imitating Gung Ye though, that's hilarious.
Did chinese censor board banned portraying transmigration one body to another too?
I had this suspicion too. There's no other possible explanation for it otherwise. It would be sheer stupidity to alter such an important plot point like this.
I havent read the novel, would tell me me why he is complicated in the novel? With different personalities something…
Ah, it's rather tough to explain the male lead's character in a single comment but if you are looking for a reference then he is more like Li Cheng Yin from Goodbye My Princess but more severe?
Because with LCY, you could see he was devoted to one person completely despite all the mess, but the ML here is up to his neck in women xD
I was a bit confused at first 'cause I saw that Ryan Ding was casted for the adaptation of "The Dreamer of the…
Yes, the way the FL enters the ML's home is different here. The FL in the novel is a woman from modern day and she transmigrated into the body of the evil SFL in a novel that she's reading. The evil SFL is the ML's first wife.
It seems they've changed this EXTREMELY IMPORTANT part of the story which makes me worry about how the FL's character will work out now because I cannot tolerate a Mary Sue FL please.
Caught up to 304 chapters out of the translated 510 ones, and I don't think the male lead is as hateful as everyone makes him out to be. I'm super excited to see this when it comes out, but I am a bit skeptical about Ding Yuxi playing the male lead because this will definitely be his most complicated role yet! Wish him all the best! Peng Xiaoran is an absolute goddess and the female lead's character is right up her lane! I had no problem projecting her face onto the character while reading!
Definitely looking forward to see how they'll cram such a mammoth story into 36 episodes, it's definitely a slow burn, and it's intensely political in nature. I hope they don't water it down for younger audiences but at the same time, I won't hate them if they do. Seeing DISB turn into a light-hearted romcom would certainly be funny.

Quite a significant portion of this movie is biographical in nature. It was so interesting reading about it
