FYI: Above^are just10 min highlights.. YT will not air full episodes. Anything you guys see that's for YT are…
Hey Niko, thanks for the response. I did say they were highlights and the links I watched from @JustThai BoysLove definitely didn't have a virus. However, good to know you potentially have episodes we can now watch and continue to watch. Cheers mate. ta.
Definitely the best BL drama I've seen in terms of production quality. The acting is solid too and it doesn't…
The acting is truly solid, but I have to say respect to the writer, because it's been a long, long, long time since I've liked a script this much from a SK BL writer. To My Star has only touched me in this way. The team behind this drama feels so on point and in tune. The choosing of the primary ML actors together, so on point. Chemistry I find lovely. However, also enjoying the 2Ls. Long may it continue to the finale. #Snigger. Please don't disappoint me writers and director as so many recent KL BL dramas have - I so want this drama to be the huge success it deserves:-) Don't fuck up!!
True true... So sue me but so far this is the first BL drama I've seen that is of high quality and tastefully…
So hear you. However, have to say, for me, it's not the first SK drama of high quality and tastefully done. I need to check out the webtoon and novel and will be sure to do so, thanks for recommending.
My recent favourites, I've included below and why, whilst also those I felt missed the mark, but so could have been bloody good if the writer and director had invested more commitment and love of what they'd produced into the storyline, transgression of characters and chemistry, irrespective of low budgets to connect and engage their audience.
To My Star: Utterly, utterly beautiful. A completely new and refreshing narrative on the BL genre. Can't wait for the 2nd series coming this year. In my top 3 of absolute fave BL's.
Wish You: Great idea. Music utterly beautiful. Initial start of episodes, beautiful. Chemistry apparent... and then the plot for me got utterly stupid. No time for romance and building of chemistry to tell the story of the mains. A huge opportunity for me, completely lost.
You Make Me Dance: Such a beautiful idea for a concept. The main lead, what a beautiful, beautiful dancer and indeed actor. His scenes still resonate with me. 2ML, good. Him tying up ML with his scarf. The eggs, those fucking eggs, so poignant to the story. They honestly had beautiful moments together as 'friends', but I felt the romance was forced. Overall, it felt hugely rushed, awkward and unexplained and all down to the short episode timescales. However, worth watching.
Nobleman Ryu's Wedding. For me, a complete and utter waste of time. Story concept good, but delivery seriously bad. So many expectations and naturally excited because first historic BL from SK. Really, that's the best you could do for your first historic BL? Hang your heads in shame I say. What a joke. Beyond short to even create a flowing narrative and one fake kiss. Nah, hugely pissed me off... and that's saying something based on the joke that was Bite Me and heterosexual drama Cupid's Kitchen.
Light On Me: I really liked this. Oh so clever. Think it's fair to say creative in the story ideal and captivation of audience, but something just missed the mark for me in the final episodes. However, a definite must watch as it is beautiful and well acted.
My Sweet Dear: Could have been bloody brilliant. I was captivated by this from the first 2 episodes, due to my love of food and quality of actors. Ruined for me with unexplained plotlines that didn't make sense and utterly shit kiss.
The Tasty Florida: I found this really lovely at the beginning and actually would give it a 7/10 as the chemistry between the leads was apparent. However, again, so much unexplained, shit flow of narrative. Again though a nice, easy watch that's worth while.
Tinted With You: Historical drama. Again, interesting story concept. Could have been so damn good. Shit delivery not from actors, but writers and director. Some cute moments. However, will we ever re-watch, or even remember? I don't think so.
Behind Cut: Could have been so damn good. This is perhaps the one I'm most disappointed in. However, definitely worth a watch. Some of the writing especially the narratives between father and son of ML and lover of ML were so beautifully scripted and poignant. Editing was shocking. Flow of storyline was shocking and at times just didn't make sense. If I had to ask for a drama to be re-shot, re-written, re-edited with same actors, it would be this one with longer episodes.
Now this is good. This is very, very good. This is what I've been waiting for and indeed expecting from South Korean short 15-20 min BL episodes. Excellent quality, scripting, writing, production and selection of actors. Most importantly, which is an absolute must for me - chemistry between the two leads. Have to admit, I felt they took their time delivering on short format dramas, but so far are doing an excellent job on this one. Love it.
Damn, I love this series even without proper English subs. So good. So lovely. Great to finally see a drama from Thailand that can do low budget well. Such a crying shame about the English subs, but we can only hope for the future.
I've been able to watch some bad subs up until ep 3 and because most of ep 4 was about Tawan and Mork, I watched it raw. However, the YouTube subbed highlights from @JustThai BoysLove are good and will have to suffice for now. He explains that he's only allowed to sub no more than 10 mins, but he beautifully captures the main parts we want to know. Although, I do really, really want to know what Mork's dad said to him in the final clip at the hospital.
Guys, please send this link to your friends to gain more request. We all need better subs. for this drama. ðŸ˜https://support.viki.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034633713-Request-a-TV-Show-or-Movie
Ep 4 subs today on Dramacool were much, much better than the previous.
I've heard through Instagram that they're not going to Eng Sub this series, which is strange. There are loads of links to episodes 1 and 2 on Dailymotion, but only one link to ep 1 is Eng Sub as a part 1-4. Dramacool first posted ep 1 raw on 27/01, so it does look like they're indeed not going to sub it and I've searched everywhere and no-one seems to be subbing. So strange. Ep 1 seemed quite good too.
feel so bad :( the good novel was utterly destroyed by this drama :"))
So hear you. I hated the drama so much, I then went and read the novel. The drama doesn't come close in any way. I actually don't understand why the writer chose to change the drama so much and so incredibly badly.
I joined Viki in 2011 when it wasn't that big as it is now. I was also a translator for some Kdramas until I didn't…
Hmmm... you've taught me a lot. Thank you. Your comments around losing the community have really resonated with me. Perhaps then it would be good to have both - paid and unpaid to keep that essence.
I'm not sure this is really the place for your rant either. Viki is completely upfront with the fact that you…
Thank you for your response and insight. Really interesting. Ultimately, all I'm saying is: Viki ,you have brilliant subscribers. Pay them what they're worth. You can afford it. If they did, they'd take on competitors who are ahead of them and the game and have new customers.
You can read some of the comments on weibo if you google translate this page. I would say many are the same as…
I know we've had issues. However, I truly respect your absolute love of Asian dramas. Fact. And, you always support and deliver excellent insight on dramas to your fans. Fact. So putting aside our misunderstanding, I'd most sincerely ask for your help to post the following across your channels, as I know you speak to so many Asian drama fans who respect you. #BowingMyHead
I've just posted this on Viki. They absolutely won't approve it, so I'm posting it here. To say I'm pissed off, would be an understatement.
Let's address the, as we Brits call it "the elephant in the room". Meaning, saying something others don't want to say, but everyone knows. I need to get this off my chest, because I'm now seriously pissed off! I'm a business woman, so my mind will naturally think from a business perspective. Let's first talk facts. I pay for a Viki subscription because I believe you provide a good service I want and have an excellent range of dramas I want to watch. Fact. However, and this is the part I can't get my head around. As a business woman, if my customers were constantly berating me about an issue they absolutely hate about the service I provide, I'd address it and most importantly, change it. Tell me a business who wouldn't.
So, Viki. I can't imagine how many millions of paid subscribers you have around the world. The revenue you generate must indeed be both profitable and lucrative. Surely, and this is the part I just can't understand, you can pay and indeed afford to pay for a HUGE team of paid subbers. Fact. Why would you allow your subbers, who you choose not to pay, to provide a service to you completely free of charge? Tell me a business that asks a supplier to work completely free of charge. NONE. The fact that they're then at the forefront of such constant, constant abuse because of the delays to subbing, as a business you need to feel ashamed, because you're hugely devaluing the excellent service they provide to you. FACT.
Again, I can't get my head around why you continue to bury your heads on this issue. Surely, you have a customer service department and these issues are raised at your Board meetings. However, as I suspect, customer service perhaps doesn't make the agenda, only profit and revenue. What you're saying to your subscribers is, we don't care. We're not listening to you, and you know why, because we continue to make shit loads of money from you. Fact.
Let me give you two recent examples of where you've seriously failed in terms of customer service. Cupid's Kitchen. I watched the whole series on YouTube, because your subbers where at least 4-5 days behind. Who on your team is advising and indeed responsible for monitoring competitor activity? This drama, The Sharpshooter, on your competitor site already has 12 episodes subbed, whilst you have six.
What am I paying for? I think at your next Board meeting, you honestly need to address the elephant in the room.
