Imho at the very bottom. I am yet to start reading DHX but read ME, Ill-fated Consort and Star General. The Noble Girl Hard to Find romance wise gets the lowest score from me. The reason is FL is very young practically the whole book. 12/13. I thought her Coming of Age Ceremony that he ruined was at 15 but I reread and she was just 14. ML is intrigued and interested in her intially and later on loves her to the point of risking his life multiple times. But it is not romantic, he treats her as a precious child. Author put it ocasionally in his inner- monologues.

I wish I could but I am behind on episodes. I want to see how it ends and if there is that disgusting arc to skip it. In drama his marriage to the deceased sister does not quite sit right with me. Why did he marry a concubine's daughter when the contract was with the only legitimate daughter of the family🤔. I think concubines' daughters were married as concubines of legitimate sons at that time. Of cause there were exceptions but he is quite young. They were (FL/ML) engaged before her birth. So the parents knew there is an age gap. Yet noone waited for her to come of age. Why was there suddenly the rush to get him married? But horrible Shi Yang stabs her mother and sets the house on fire. FL cannot save her mum who dies in her arms of stab wounds. FL tries to assasinate Shi Yang not caring about enprisonment or her life. But ML cares and stops her. They get married but she is devastated and it is not a happy occasion for her.

I had a very strong dislike for this "foreign princess" arc as well. His behavior made no sense to me. I did not find any decent explanation in the novel. That was So out of character for him. There was something along the lines of him having three types of things in this world: the ones he did not care about, the ones that belong to him and Han Yan. He goes to war worshiping her and killing people right and left who looked at FL the wrong way. Next chapter he comes back and ruins her life without not much as a word🤔

Sorry, I did not make myself clear. I ment that reminded me of Song Mo behavior in the novel not in drama. He subbotaged the adult part of their wedding night proclaiming friendship and partnership for life. But as I said before he did not last long with that "partners not lovers" nonsense 😆
