How good is the drama?

How much of it focuses on revenge and romance?

Will someone who isn't really into sageuks but likes revenge and romance genres enjoy this one, aka. is there enough focus on those elements to override any boredom with the sageuk genre?

Also is there much focus on the FL's occupation as an ancient boardgame player? (that angle seems interesting too)

2023 also had many expensive and creative plot type kdrama, all of which the writing seemed to have been an afterthought, just great cast & special effects cared about. None of them was higher than a 8.5 to me, which isn't exactly bad writing but it's still a waste to have writing that's only like an 8, with such great cast and high production values 🤦🏻‍♀️

I like this pairing and that's it's healing psychological romcom, but will wait to see if you guys still give 8+ rating and positive comments after full drama has aired, tired of watching subpar dramas that start out well but then go downhill. 😬
2023 was quite a lame year in kdramas wasn't it, very few really good ones, I hope 2024 will bring on better dramas like back in 2021 &2022, miss watching 9-10 dramas.

(Or if they go with the classic "Cheating husband", I hope they make him and The Other Woman a really Fun Chemistry-filled shippable 2ndary Couple, a messy "Shippable evil villains OTP" with much screentime. 💥😍 Along the LeadCouple, so there'd be 2 cute ships.) This way he could also be a Dual Male Lead in a way, by getting his own storyline.

I know right, saw both of their recent dramas Death's Game (he was hot&cool) and Daily Dose of Sunshine (he was sooo cute there!), I hope FL does a polyamorous relationship/open relationship with both and NO love triangle/cheating.

I don't really like historical kdramas, so I need them to have romance.

Though this one I'll probably still watch for Lee Honey(+Female RobinHood eqsue plot) even if no romance, but imo it's better to know in advance if romance or not to manage expectations.
Though bickering & banter between leads can be just as fun as romance sometimes even.

Ok but is there like feelings shown between the characters is what I want to know, any loving romantic scenes or at least sweet looks?

This might come as a shocker but Platonic Friends can also heal each other, NO need for a creepy age gap romance between a 20something and 50 year old 😅, for writers to create a sweet healing platonic friendship where they heal each other.

See for example My Mister where the genders are reversed Older man-Younger woman PLATONIC friendship there too...
