Yea just finished rewatching this show. Actually wished it was longer so we can get better more screen time of the year at end and what happened to the other characters.
I saw a uncut ending where it shows fei liu looking tea to li chen then he hands the tea cup to someone else in room. His likes were implying that it was changsu, since I think he said sugege.. so if u go by that ending I believe after war or during do u think they used that 10 man blood transfusion so he survived?
If they did it's good he's alive but sucks he lied to everyone else of his death . Especially nihuang who's been waiting for him for like 13plus yrs .
I really wish to c hu ge back. Either make it prequel to nif 1 where he gains his rep as kirin scholar. But still will like to c hu ge play these smart scheme character would be nice to c him as villain

Drama is one of best IMHO. I believe this drama set the bar for rest of palace dramas.

Don't get me wrong there's alot of good palace drama now a days past couple years but they become they same cliche story, poison this concubine, pretend to be pregnant, someone gets sexual assaulted and becomes villain etc. ..
Watch this series if you haven't whole cast is very great especially hu ge. So sad he doesn't star or act in recent years.

I agree but u can already see this coming. Especially the way qm acts. Qiu yan told her to live with her but she was being all noble etc and turn her sister down while the other aunts went except her bio mother n qiu min. Yes he's a versatile actor. He reminds me of hu ge and Wallace huo. Both are versatile . Xu Kai should keep playing in these roles since it suits him very much . Don't care about the type cast since he plays each role very well.

They probably sorts of want to spend more time edit this one better then they did with mirror of two cities. I don't get how this series is 50 while cities was cut down to 43 and it was so so rushed and edited badly from start to finish.
