notice how i never complained about how unrealistic the plot is, i dont mind the unrealistic plot, its a drama, but the romance fell short for me in its execution =) Im a grown woman though so maybe this will do it for a more young and naive audience.

This dramas plot is very fresh and strong but I need to say the biggest weakness of this drama is the romance. I feel nothing when they kiss. The way the romance progressed was just so unnatural, like going through the motions to progress things. A couple who lived together for 3 whole years never once sleeping together? lmaooo its just very cringey and weird to me as a grown woman seeing how they're all lovey dovey now and decided to finally communicate after all those years??? uhhh, a little too makjang for my taste. So many kdramas have mature and realistic romances these days that this extreme of cold to hot progression does nothing for me.

Also i fully understand the drama gives great excuses as to why their relationship is like that, bbut it really does not matter. I felt no heat between them, its like two children finally deciding to not be passive-aggressive anymore.

This is my opinion btw and it's fine if you enjoyed the romance =) reminder this is a comment section for the reason of being able to give critiques and this is how this website is able to survive.

thinking abt how the reviews and comments here will cause a lot of people to miss out on this masterpiece of a romantic comedy is sad. Thankfully the rating is accurate. You can tell someone really sat and thought about what each episode was going to be about, from beginning to end the story flowed naturally and clearly with no gimmicks. It is a fully crafted story, and it seems the people who did not like it are the ones who need some clownery and unnecessary plot twists to happen in the last couple of episodes (dramas should not suffer just because yall have adhd, trust me I do too but dramas don't need to compensate for that lmao). This was clearly an artistic expression of life, and the writers wanted people to think about the overall message.

Also, characters are allowed to have flaws, and kdramas that are all filled with characters painted with the same cookie cutter perfect brush are boring, uninteresting, and tired. The male lead is a very accurate depiction of a real Korean man who went through the struggles he's gone through.

ignore the reviews and comments cause this drama is very appropriately rated. this is the second kdrama i watched this year that is realistic and natural in its romance line. you can feel their chemistry and there is no cringe at all. it takes 1/50 kdrama to have romance that isnt cringey (atypical family was the other one i watched with great romance w/o the cringe). On top of all of that the storyline is so interesting, oh and its an actual romantic comedy. you will laugh watching this unlike most romcoms these days that have 0 comedy and even the romance is straight up garbage.

watched this despite the awful reviews and it was actually really good??? im so confused... I have a bias against suzy so i never watched this but her acting here is really nice? I initially watched it cause i like the ML but actually his acting was very odd... something about his intonation? so im really confused as to why people are saying his acting was good but suzys was bad... lmaoo ummm.... anyways.

Also, I do not understand what was so off putting about Suzys character? this site makes me realize time and time again how people cannot handle FLs that deviate outside of the kind, edgy and quirkey personality style. Whenever a FL has flaws like a normal human the complaining begins. I understood her everytime she lashed out, it made complete sense.

TLDR reviews and comments on here sometimes need to not be taken at face value, just watch it and see for yourself. this drama was interesting, and the secondary characters were sooo interesting as well, i loved the second couple so much. Everyone was like a positive supportive family and it was so heart warming to see the girls support each other. Also the chemistry between the two leads was crazy... they did more than nevertheless did despite nevertheless having a bed scene every 10 minutes lmao

Finally watched this drama out of curiosity and its really not as scandelous as i expected. Its actually quite boring at times. Maybe im too old for this? The overuse of skinship ends up dulling the chemistry at some point. Also people who dont understand the fl decisions have clearly never been in this situation, i completely understood her. Your brain when in this kind of relationship does not function in an objective way. that was actually the most realistic and refreshing thing about the show. The most unrealistic thing was the ML deciding to change his ways... lmao that would not never happen irl. The reason why i put off this show for so long was because i was worried about remembering my past and spiralling lmao but the drama doesnt get to that level of chilling

This drama is very weird but in a good way... once you get use to how weird it is lmao. This is a comedy over a romance to me which is why this whole teacher-student thing was actually bearable. Their antics together is hilarious. It's like a vessel to poke fun at all the creepy cliche things that happen in other teacher x student jdramas.

I feel 8.8 is a bit high for this, I give it a solid 7.5. Maybe its because I watched it in 2020, but it was a little boring and too predictable. The romance wasn't very satisfying either. I wouldn't recommend it but i wouldn't say its bad either... has its funny moments too.

lovely drama, glad i gave it a chance since I'm usually disappointed by highly rated cdramas on here. beautiful drama with such lovable characters, each episode is engaging despite being a very simple drama about high school friends. Enjoyed watching this during this fall weather.

Watched this drama over a year ago but still think about it from time to time when im trying to look for a good Japanese romantic comedy, this drama was just very unexpectedly good? Genuinely funny and interesting from beginning to end. Glad i didn't let the age gap stop me and hope it doesn't stop anyone else, the FL is so mature and responsible this is the only way these student teachers dramas should be done.

I honestly don’t understand how you can enjoy dramas that drag with filler problems as much as this. Why are so many c dramas ruined by this. I wish there were more cshows like reset and ALSB, clear direction and a plot, simple yet interesting. So many dramas would be amazing if cut to 20 episodes.

its a full circle, that was made clear when gwiju says to his daughter that he needs to save dahae in order for HER to save him. Basically shes alive because of him, and he's also alive cause of her. i think that's why he's able to interact only with her! but that's just my thoughts! =)

Should be rated higher, I rate a drama based off how excited I am while watching it as well as how eager i am to see the next episode. Even when i wasn't watching it, i was thinking about it. This is the only drama this year so far that's made me feel like that. The romance? doesn't get better. the chemistry?? this is the definition of it. A unique plot that made perfect sense to me? Not sure what the loopholes are, but every plot like this probably has some due to human error but I did not notice it. If you are contemplating watching this, do it!!!

i downloaded it before traveling abroad and I was so upset it was only 12 episodes! Why are good dramas with complex plots like this that could have 16 episodes given 12? while the boring no real direction other than quarreling plot line dramas are given 16 (looking at u love next door lmao)

yes, this drama is messed up in many ways, that's the whole point of this show. Its unique cause it really does not go by the rules in terms of a ML and FL who are the image of morality. Thats what made this show fun, watch it with that in mind and you're gonna have the thrill of your life with this one, i almost dropped it at the second last ep cause i was like... WTF??? but then I kept watching and... omfg lmaooooo

I completely understand the female lead and how she still ended up falling for him, life is not black and white. and your desires can take over, thats whats unique about this drama is that the ML in the first place is an anti hero, something unheard of in kdramas, they did a great job of showing the progression of their relationship. this is not a 1 + 1 = 2 kind of show, thats what made it interesting for me.
